Hi There, So I'm trying to get in to modeling my own costumes, I have just got myself a Glue Gun , Hot air Gun, Dremmel Set and materials such as Eva Foam and a bunch of cardboard to play around on as well as the standard knifes and so on, My first question is there anything else you guys recommend that would be helpful for a newcomer to buy ?

Also I was thinking of following some templates for my first few attempts to try to get my technique up to scratch before I start going of and doing my own designs but what software would i need to buy to open up the templates by JFCustom http://www.therpf.com/f24/jfcustoms-foam-files-148889/

Would appreciate any comments or help given, Thankyou

you may need files and sanding sticks (sand paper on a board) for shaping, perhaps some acrylic art paint. I'd just get tools as they are required or make a job easier, rather than just buying heaps of stuff.

Originally Pepakura is a 3D modeling program and like any design software, it produces a file in its own format. In this case its called .pdo

If you're here for costuming you're in the wrong section, you want "Replica Costumes".
If you're here for scale modeling then you're in the right place.

As for tools and tips, use the search bar at the top of the page, there are tons of threads on the the subject covering everything out there you need to know.
It only takes a few minutes of looking.
