New STARFIGHTER model 1/32 for STWS comic

hey, guys
I'm here to present you a project that I've been working on for some time now, a new fighter for the expanded Star Wars universe. A friend of mine is presenting a comic about SW to Dark Horse. The problem he encountered was that all the ships from the expanded universe, in almost all the comic books are simple geometrical figures that resemble space ships but lack the richness of design and beauty of the original models. Since he was aware of my experience as an illustrator and model maker, he asked me to develop an idea we both had about a new starfighter and we came up with the following guidelines:
1 it had to be a more evolved design of the A wing (the history is placed 15 yrs after ROTJ)
2 lots of battle damage Like STWS STYLE (I still haven'tstarted working on this)
3 we didn't want it to be perfect, because the idea of a model like tamiya or fine models didn´t quite fit with our vision
4 the model had to have technology from the new republic as well as the extinct empire
5 and most important of all, it had to look like a star wars ship

the challenge was way to interesting to pass it up, so a month ago I started working on it during my free time, because I am also working on 2 ATST resin models, which are coming along quite fine.
You can appreciate the process on the pictures attached...
I would really appreciate your feedback, any ideas or comments will really help me with this and if it's well received, it may even become a new addition to the SW expanded universe

I just caught your thread... WOW! Like you, I am really disappointed with the newer concepts of the starships... and more, in the expanded universe. I have read over 200 SW novels over the years, but the only comics I will pick up are the older ones. What I imagine from the books are so much better than what they draw on paper. Your design ethic and execution are very professional and creative. I haven't purchased a SW model kit in years, but if you offered this as a kit, I would buy it! I can't wait to see how you execute the color scheme. opcorn


(if you plan to continue this venue, I for one would love to see your concept of the "Stealth-X", or even the "Sun Crusher". If you feel really bold, maybe a YT-1300-2.0? Whatever you decide to do, I am subscribed to this build, and all your future builds, for sure!:thumbsup)
