I see a huge difference in the background color since yesterday. Looks great now and the contrast is much better. Thank you!!! :)

I think we are finally done with the background color / font color / font / font size... It is lightyears away from where we started and aesthetically not very appealing but it should be infinitely more legible, which is the point and purpose. Glad it is now working for you!

Not sure if these are fixed but my internets been down. Again maybe tapatalk but it used to ask how often I wanted notifications on my subscriptions. Doesn't any more. Also earlier I edited a post. Not really a bug but all the reply buttons are still around the area, be better if when you clicked edit, the old reply wasn't still there. If you accidently hit it it cancels your edit.
Also I think multi post doesn't activate until you reply. If I remember correctly when you used to tick multi quote it immediately pasted it in the reply box.

I think one of the issues is that unlike (some of?) the sites listed above is that the RPF has (arguably) several "intro" pages - or pages that launch each forum (Props, Costumes, Entertainment, etc) and each of these have the featured articles. It's not a big deal to me at all - I think some of us have the individual forums bookmarked, so it does warrant the featured articles being on every forum.

I am so looking forward to the articles - I even mentioned such a thing months ago and Art told us it was in the works. I hope one day I may be able to contribute.

We took the Featured section out of the individual threads yesterday, but because so many people do only visit a certain forum, we felt it important to keep them on each forum's threadlist page.

I am REALLY looking forward to getting the articles off the ground. There are so many people in our hobby with stories to tell and things to share... and I want to read it all!

I disagree about the aesthetic appeal. I find it much more appealing now (no, this is not another "griping about pointless things" rant). I find the more subdued background to be ideal from an aesthetic standpoint because now the grid paper background is no longer leaping out at us. Essentially, the effect is there and is noticeable, but the eye is still drawn towards the center of the page, where it should be. Honestly, I think it works quite well on both an aesthetic and functional level.

I actually prefered the way it was last night LOL

The very light grey instead of the white (or nearly) white.

(y)thumbsup:thumbsup

I'll take that!

It's also better on the ipad. You have to remember that the iPad will darken the screen itself if you're reading in a dark room. That made it very difficult to read. I like to end my day checking the RPF before I drift off. It's still a bit hard to tell which page number you're on, and I keep missing links because there's nothing to tell me it's a link unless I see something like YAHOO in the link. However it's much better than the first day.

We just temporarily removed the link underlines again. We are looking for another solution as that was just completely junking up so many parts of the site.

On my ipad mini just now whenever i try to go to the next page the "jump to page" window hovers so close to the numbers its hard to press the page I want to go to. what I have been doing is zooming in all the way to the page numbers to make them big enough to click without the pop up getting in my way.

I agree the popup is annoying for mobile users. I am clicking on page 5 for a reason, not to click on page 5 only to type in page 4... Maybe have the quick page nav to the left or right of the page selection. I would say most users dont know exactly what page they want to go to right away.

Another feature that I'm not sure if it's been mentioned or not is the hover effect over abbreviations - ROTJ, LotR, TPM... not sure what else is covered, but it's awesome.

We can add those in for any abbreviations. It has to be put in manually, but once it is in, it auto applies to every thread.

Its an old feature that we had on the old site..

Has the err with social networking icons to the left, under the avatar been mentioned yet?

Yep, it was mentioned at the beginning of the thread.

Also, the "Jump to Page" auto pop-up on every page number is too touchy and not really needed.

Is there any way to make the icons for editing attachments a little bigger? It took me forever to figure out how to delete an attachment because the X was so small.

That was rolled out quietly a few months back. I remember accidentally finding it and thinking my computer was psychic. The underlines definitely help find them though.

Such a nice feature on a board that is basically built on acronyms and initialisms, though.

Posts in the Off Topic, Site News, and Junkyard areas don't count towards your post total. So that might be what's throwing you off.
