Welcome to the Age of Internet retail!
Use those pre-paid gift cards where you can and when you can!
(Lucky me didn't give them my credit card info at least...! I bought my games and downloads with a PSN card gifted from one of my sisters last year.)
Seriously, with the price of gas as it is, take advantage of those gift cards at the stores where purchases count towards Fuel Rewards. If you know you're going to at X restaurant or shop at Y store and they have a gift card there, then why not buy it??? Most of these places are also selling PSN pre-paid cards and XBL cards as well.
This'll happen again to another gaming company.
People forget how regularly this has happened with banks and credit card companies all around the world.
This just got bigger press because it was Sony this time.
And videogames are generally doing better than most sectors of retail...
Was aware of the password issue. Ah, well.
Maybe some people will wise up and realize that what hackers do isn't so cute... unfortunately, a lot of those guys are the usual dopes that seem to drift and not pay attention to what's going on around them.
Sony screwed up on security, yes, but ultimately it was thieves who think they're bettter and smarter than everybody else who stole all that information. Some people have no idea how sociopathic a lot of hackers are...
