Hey guys, Here are some preliminary pics of my new Han ROTJ blaster.

It is made off of a real Mauser. With custom parts from CE, Bobadebt, and Russ. It also sports some custom chequered grips to match the Stembridge blaster it is based on. Let me know what you think. Thanks.

I think that is quite possibly the most unique and fantastic ROTJ DL44 that I've ever seen!

Kudos on such an awesome prop:thumbsup

Totally awes. Maybe dirty up the flash hider and that front brass ring a bit?

It is really awesome seeing a seldom tackled version turn out so good. Love the way it came out. Though I'd want to see it dirtied up considerably.

Wow, that's really quite nice.

The one thing that jumps out at me though is the size of the brass anchors on the scope bracket - they appear to be way too thick. They should actually be closer in thickness to the spacers underneath the bracket.

Here is a set of original Bapty/Stembridge parts (except for the scope rail) that I assembled onto an MGC Mauser for The Propstore of London - it was sold at auction through PIH in March of 2008:

Wonderful buildup Dan!!!!
May I ask where you got the checkered grips from?...need a set myself ;)

PLEASE tell me that you took detailed pics from all angles, when you did your stembridge buildup for the propstore...PLEEEEEASE!

The correct placement and size of the asymetric cubes on this blasters muzzle is one of the remaining mysteries. What was it made of (delrin/ aluminium)?

Thanks for every tiny bit of information you´re able to share :)

thanks for the compliments guys

D48Ronin,

Thanks for the info.

Markus,

I got the grips from a guy on gunbroker.com.

He makes a variety of different broomhandle grips. I contacted him and asked if he could do checkered grips for me. The were around 30 or 40 USD if I remember correctly. I then had to modify them a bit as he could only do checkered all over.

Beautiful stuff, guys! Though my preferred Han blaster is the ANH model, this one is beautifully put together. Great work!

Is the ref pic you have of the firing version? Maybe i missed it earlier, but did you make a firing version??
If so, you can put the term "awsome" just about all over it!
Even if it is isn't firing, it's still very very nice!
