New Noble Collection Wands - Completely Inaccurate?!

Is anybody else really confused by this:
The Noble Collection: The wand of Luna Lovegood

That wand looks absolutely nothing like her wand in the movies or any of the other replicas including the one featured on the same site in the Dumbledore's Army Wand Collection:
The Noble Collection: DUMBLEDORE'S Army Wand Collection

The same goes for a couple other wands, like Bellatrix's:
The Noble Collection: BELLATRIX Wand

The Noble Collection: The wand of Bellatrix Lestrange

What the heck is going on?!

Could they be reimaginings of the designs from the upcoming films?

That 6 wand display actually looks quite groovy.

Can't comment on HP, but there are other Noble collection items that are less than SA.

What other items? I was going to pick up the Cryptex from Da Vinci Code one of these days. I know it doesn't have the writing on the hidden panel inside the box.

I wanted to pick up Luna's wand. I'm glad Noble is selling it separately now but I don't like the one they have. I prefer the original wand design. I guess I'll wait to see what Luna has in the new film. They have a lot of "new" wands for the other characters too. Could these be the wands that are being sold at the Harry Potter attraction in Florida? I still need to check to see if there is an online store for the attraction.

I believe the wands are different because tons of people change wands in the book. Luna is kidnapped by Death Eaters, so her wand is taken and Ollivander makes her a new one. Lucius Malfoy's gets broken when Voldemort uses it on Harry. And Bellatrix's is later used by Hermione after the escape from Malfoy Manor.

That, and they've occasionally redesigned the wands from film to film. I have two versions of both Harry's and Hermione's wands, from before and after the "big" redesign for PoA (where they completely scrapped every existing wand and made all-new ones).

I can tell you that every character wand made by prop manufacturing at Leavesden was recast and sent directly to Noble..both as grey prop for moulding and a finished one for colour reference. They should be totally accurate and cast from the real deal. Any difference will be either from the wands changing hands or from Noble mixing them up ;-)

Yeah, I recommend a reread of the book. A lot of wand changes happen.

I know that, I just didn't realize these were Deathly Hallows wands. That's part of what I was asking. If they are, they should be labelled that way, i.e. Luna's Replacement Wand.

But there are other wands that have changed colors and stuff.

see this: The Noble Collection: The wand of Professor Horace Slughorn

and this: The Noble Collection: Professor Slughorn's Wand

They are obviously the same wand, but they have slightly different details.

Sirius's and Cho's look a little different, too, although that could just be bad photography...?

omg I know. I really want that thing. As soon as I have enough money lol.

http://www.universalorlando.com/mer...egoryName=harrypotter(merchandisebasecatalog) :) Although pretty much all of the character-specific wands are also sold elsewhere (Noble Collection, WB Shop, etc.)

Thanks for that info! Do you know if all the Noble wands were made by the same company? Because that's my theory, is that some of them are made elsewhere. could be totally wrong though. =P

Their Indy props are regarded as less than SA by those in the know on Club Obi Wan.

Does anybody have pics of of the various versions of the movie wands? I'd love to see the previous versions next to the redesigns.

It is a shame they weren't able to keep a steady design throughout the entiure run of films though.

@swirlingvortex7, I didn't notice that about Slughorn's wand. I new that it was curved because I was thinking that it would be difficult to make myself. I just never noticed the new one was straight. I like the curved one because it looks nicer.

The new slughorn wand is the same as the old. Still curved, just pictured at a different angle. The paintjob in the picture is what the actual wand looked like. I have the old version :/

Noble's Christmas catalog showed up today. Lots of nice pictures of the wands. I forgot about Luna's new wand. I still prefer the old one. I wish Noble sold that one separately. The Potter store in Orlando doesn't have it either.

About the colors too:
When they color correct the films and use different lighting and such, it can really change the way something looks, compared to how it is in person, as the Noble company would have received it.
It is notoriously hard to replicate costumes because of this. You see a fabric on the screen and then in person and it can look very different.

They have also name plates that you can switch out with others on the new wand displays. Hence, the doubles on certain wands.

There is some debate amongst Potter folks that the new Luna wand is perhaps the new one that gets made for her.

As for the others... I was very confused myself that Bellatrix has 2 wands listed that are completely different. The only one I've seen so far is the black curved job, yet there was another one listed as well.

I know some of the characters changed in the first few movies, I believe JKR states Hermionie's wand for instance changed and Ron's had to because his got broken.
