Very nice. I like the way the face on the V2 is more full on the bottom when you lift it up. Also, the eyes hole seems a much more realistic size.

The new V.2 looks much better IMO.I still don't care for the vents above the snout, but that's just me.Would like to see one painted up now :)

I like the V2 better with exception of the lense area, which I like better on the V1, seems a bit small now. Still... incredible work..

V1 gets my vote too... the lens is the killer on the v2

EDIT - should add - great work...ive been working on a helmet myself for nearly
two 2 months - I can see a lot of work there.

One doubt... which one is v1 and which one v2 ???

You said V1 left.. but inthis pic.. I think that V2 is left ??? COuld you confirm it please: ?

As stated.

But still not exactly like this:

(Can't remember who took the picture or where it was posted, but I imagine it is from www.bikerscout.net - I will remove it if asked)

Here is a comparrison of a screen used helmet in the same angle as the MLCV2 from Bikerscout.net. (agian, same as the above posting, I will remove if need be.)

I would consider removing the recessed stripes on the forehead and on the nose area. There cool but not screen accurate and since this V2 is being done for screen accuracy why hold back. :)

:confused

I don't understand this, it looks worse than the V1.

The snout still has those razor sharp edges but now the whole snout is wider looking than it should be.
The area around the eyes also looks too wide now.

I never liked the recessed areas which is why I filled mine in for accuracy but it's back to front in the first place. The recessed areas should actually be raised as they're the grey part of the snout detail.

Though I don't think it looks worse than the V1 - actually I think it's an improvement - there are still some areas that got neglected and some of the needed modifications to get closer to the original weren't pursued consequently.

But one has to keep in mind that the creator took some artistic freedoms and never really claimed to be 100% accurate.

If someone is interested in my feedback given on this one: comment on BSN

well i think that the V2 is getting a step closer the film used helmet look

well done on making a V2, its about time the scout helmet is being explord

can wait for the finished helmet

The primary reason I like the v2 is on account of the fact that the snout on the v1 was slightly crooked and too long. Both issues have now been resolved.

I think it looks great, but in the comparison above it appears that the forehead on the V2 isn't quite as high as the original. Could be the angle of the photos, tho.

It is as high... and the cut out visor area is correct... it is the cap between the visor edge and the brow edge that is wrong, imo, and the brow edge has to be lowered, so that it is closer to the visor edge - giving the helmet a taller appearing brow section... if you know what I mean.

Here's a rendering of the above picture with what changes I would make: Lower the brow, make the upper corners of the visor area more "squared" and less like a large round curve, re-cut or leave out the three brow ridges, invert the nose vents back to the originals, as it is inverted on the MLC... and the snout is still too "sharp"... it has to have a small flat edge rim at the tip of the ridge, like the originals, but not as wide as DP/Rubies and even Altmanns. There are some curving of the cheeks I would probably try to fix too, but other than these few issues listed above it really looks very pleasing on the eyes... though... a bit bulky compared to an original.

Hope it is okay to use this picture to make a point - will remove if requested.

EDIT: Redid the image, as some of my lines were off.
EDIT2: May in fact have done the brow edge line a bit too low towards the visor area... but I think you get the general meaning that it should be lowered somewhat... and straightened a bit than what is there now.
