Hello, new member here :)

80's-kid-turned-middle-aged-guy (lifelong film buff but total prop-collector-noob) with a fondness for movie prop replicas mainly from 1970's, 1980's & 1990's classics.

Interests:
The usual stuff: Indiana Jones, Star Wars, Back to the Future, The Goonies, Jaws, The Terminator, Die Hard, Pulp Fiction, The Shawshank Redemption, The Shining, Forrest Gump ;) Along with the less usual stuff: The Big Lebowski, Léon: The Professional, The Untouchables, Taxi Driver, Goodfellas, Saving Private Ryan, Dumb & Dumber, Austin Powers and one classic from the 1960's, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly :D

Also, English is not my first language so please excuse the occasional spelling/grammar mistakes

Hello,
Found the site a while back when doing research on some props. Currently looking at making some pistols from Forbidden Planet. I noticed the handles of those pistols look like my old Weller soldering gun, so there is my starting point.
Good to meet you.

Hi All,

I used to be on here a lot, but then I built my Dalek and Tardis and spent a lot of time over on the PDF and Tardisbuilders site. One day I'll get back to making helmets (I have three waiting to be properly finished - Republic Commando, original Stormtrooper, and Clone Trooper MK2), but for now my dalek just needs upgrade after upgrade. They never tell you this up front, but a dalek isn't just for Christmas....

I'm also slowly putting together a comic book Dredd. I loved both the movies, but grew up with the comic, and nobody did it better than Bolland. I just wish he had committed to yellow or green elbow pads. Anyway, I used to post here a lot, but now I can't find any of the nonsense I wrote, so I'm re-introducing myself. Hello! I'm in Canada, by the way, West Coast.

I found this site when I was asked to make a hoverboard for a Back To The Future themed wedding. I'm not very artistic, but I make up for that in technical skills - mostly 3D printing - and I enjoy solving the problems associated with that.

Less so the constant stripping down and unblocking of my filament extruder, but that's enough about that!

I'm always up for answering a good "How can I...?" type question, be it how to stick two things together (either with or without allowing movement), achieving visual effects and even a bit of minature electronics (mostly programmed flashy lights).

Hi All,

Back again after a long absence. I was doing a lot of WestWorld stuff back in 2017-2022, but have now gotten a significant way through a build of a Star Trek TOS Tricorder that has an enormous amount of functions and sensors, including an SD card (combined with a lot of my clever code which gives me nearly unlimited functionality capability. You can stuff a lot of dynamically loaded code and bmp images on a 256 GB SD Card lol) So I am here to document the build and its hundreds of configurations and functions. LLAP fellow Trekkies! :)
