Hi, I'm very new here and this is my first time trying to make a costume from scratch on my own. I usually go for reenactment gear - which has become increasingly expensive Battlestar Galactica (1978) warrior uniform is my first project !

Hi there! Newbie here; new to prop-making, but started tinkering around when we got a 3D printer (I've also done a bespoke prop -- not replica -- via Shapeways). I've only been battling Blender in short stints but it's been educational and I like making things. I'm a fan of Adam Savage and watch his YouTube channel and I believe that this is the place he's mentioned a couple of times. If not, no worries, still glad to be here, and I'm looking forward to looking around and seeing what folks are making.

My current project is replica credit tokens from Silo; in one of Adam's videos he got to visit the set of Season 2 and, while talking with the prop artists, they mentioned that they'd cast tokens in pewter so that they'd go clink! and that's all my crow brain needed to drive me to teach myself pewter-casting so I could make some for myself.

Well hello everyone. Just joined. I had no idea that there was such a following on the TOS star trek phasers. Loved it when I was. A kid still remember my mother telling !I could not watch it because it would give me nightmares. Well that never happened. LoL What did happen was a life long love of Technology and thinking outside the box.

Hello, I'm Jamil, and I prefer to live in science fiction. Luckily, I have full discretion to shape the basement level of my home, which is divided into two large spaces, a machine/work space and a home theater. The work space I've been slowly converting into a spaceship interior, mostly the Narcissus, and the home theater I've been slowly converting into an AI billionaire's office, mostly Dr. Tyrell's. I say "mostly," pronounced the way Newt does, because I also love lightsabers, communicators, thumpers, and ducts, and they all make appearances. Oh, I also have very little skill. So I cover up the "close enough" aspect by inferring that it's a mashup of various other sci-fi things. It's also a way to pile up all my existing junk and pretend it has meaning.

I've been here a couple of years, and have bought a Nostromo jacket from Adam and lightsaber parts from Roy. I am now entering the phase where I'm making a right mess of things, losing tiny screws, prying metal splinters from my fingers, and ending conversations when asked what I do for fun.

Glad to be here!

Hello Y'all! I'm Rocky, based in Portland, Oregon. I am a massive Trekker and have decided to try making some props. I've been into 3d printing for about 10 years and have just gotten a stable and usable printer, so I thought it would be fun. I live stream my printer on YouTube (@The3dist) and have it going 24/7. I'll be doing some Trek phasers and communicators to start - my 7-year-old granddaughter loves to play "away team" and go shoot aliens. I'd also love to do a Space 1999 lock communicator. I'll probably lurk a lot!

Hey! recently discovered this forum and finally found a community to show some of my projects ! I am a 3D Artist with a passion for model kits, replicas, props and more! Hopefully i can learn with this community and better my projects to!

Just so I'm sure that I'm following the rules properly, even though my profile shows new member, I've actually been a member of this website since 2010! LOL I can only assume it's because I haven't been active and the website has gone through so many changes in 15 years.

I haven't been active on the website because life didn't afford me the ability to be as creative as I'd like, but I'm in a much better space now and have gotten a renewed motivation for creativity!

Either way, it's great to be back and I can't wait to get into my new project and share it with everybody!

Howdy, I'm Bee. I'm a costume illustrator by day, based on the east coast. When I'm not working I enjoy building and collecting Star Wars droids and other small hand props, as well as basically anything from the Remedy Connected universe. Someone in my makerspace suggested I should share my progress photos somehow and since I don't do much social media I figured I'd try to do so here after years of just lurking without an account.

Enjoy my pile of Pip pieces ready for sanding and masking.

Hello everyone!

I'm absolutely thrilled to be joining this incredible community! After diving into some of the threads here, I'm genuinely blown away by the knowledge and passion you all bring to this art form. It's like walking into a museum where everyone's a curator AND a superfan!

A bit about me: I'm a massive Terminator fan who used to frquent Statue Forum back in 2006. My prize possessions include the Cinemaquette 1/3 Terminator T-800 Endoskeleton and the Sideshow Chrome Endoskull 1:1 from Stan Winston Studios. I've been away from the scene for years, and coming back feels like I missed out on so many opportunities! There have been SO many amazing releases since then.

Currently sitting on the Prime 1 T-800 Endoskeleton waiting list with fingers, toes, and optical sensors crossed! My biggest fear? Accidentally buying a knockoff.

I'm genuinely excited to make new friendships with fellow collectors who understand why spending mortgage payments on plastic people makes perfect sense! I've already enjoyed reading and supporting many discussions here, and if there's anything this old-timer can help with, just holler!

Looking forward to geeking out with all of you!

Hey guys!!!
I think I forgot to do this part before but I have spent countless hours scrolling through all the awesome things that we find here in the RPF!!! This site is ADDICTIIING lol anyways, figured I should become a member since I have some money now and really want to get into some of the projects I’ve both seen here and wanted to do for over two decades. One of the main ones being a screen accurate(as I can get it)League of Shadows suit armor. Been in love with it ever since I watched Nolan-verse series of movies being that I also practice Ninjustsu…it’s right up my alley! I’ve done some research already by now of course so maybe I will post it up and we’ll see where I can get with that. I feel like a man amongst gods on here but at the same time, I feel right at home because the people here are absolutely excellent to talk with and it’s so refreshing. Looking forward to being a member and to contribute to the community as much as I can for years to come! Thanks guys ✌

Cant remember if I did this 10 years ago when I joined. I’ve mainly logged on as a guest over the last decade so never really been visible.
After many years of trying and working hard to get into tv and film as a job I succeeded and I now do a lot of problem solving for UK productions.
I don’t need to prove anything anymore and won’t.
I’ve worked past the point of exhaustion, and been hospitalised by it, so now I’m taking a step back from work and trying to find why I loved this genre in the first place.
Props are awesome and nitpicking can be infinite, but also let it go sometimes. Close enough is perfect.
