Hey Everyone! I've been a long-time Tested watcher and have heard the term RPF for as long as I've watched the channel and have visited the RPF site for years but never made an account. I've always liked making things (woodworking, sewing, 3-D Printing), but recently I've been getting into making prop replicas. So I made an account!

Here are a couple below! All Original 3-D Designs and printed in PLA. The Boatswain Pipe (work in progress) has a functional Navy Pipe inside instead of the speaker/ sound file on the shows.

Great work and welcome aboard!

Hey all, I'm primarily a toy modder/action figure customizer who's been focusing on being a stay at home parent the past few years. Wanting to work on a larger scale than I have in the past, though I have done a little bit of prop and puppet building here and there.

I've been awful about photographing and archiving my stuff recently, but I do have a site at www.danofthedead.com showing a lot of my older work.

My name is Chris. I’m from a city between Tacoma and Mt. Rainier in Washington state, Puyallup.

I’ve been using this site to research little projects and generally drool over other peoples amazing work for years. Finally signed up so I could purchase electronics for my ST:TNG playmates tricorder build. Glad to be here and look forward to contributing.

Here’s a few from my collection. DL-44 kit build from Blaster Factory, ST:OS communicator and phase from The Wand Company, OS tricorder from Diamond Select, Roman Props Graflex, and various playmates tricorders that I will attempt to build into accurate replicas with lights sounds and working screens.

Hello RPF,,

Long time lurker here, never good at talking about myself so ill just say this site inspires me more each day. I have a few projects in mind and will start threads as soon as each begins.

New Member Introduction.

Hi there I'm a brand new member to the site and I'm really pleased I've found it.

My main interests are film weapons props; though I also do some amateur horror makeup type stuff.

At the moment I'm hoping to make a UMAREX HDR 50 pistol look like Deckards blaster from Bladerunner, the starting guns look fairly similar and my thought process is to make a similar pistol that looks like it might be from the Steyer blaster range from Deckards time... that may have also been used at the time by other replicant hunters.

I've been made aware by another member that there may be a 3d kit available for doing this umarex/blaster conversion already and if anyone can point me to this I'd be eternally grateful

Thanks for letting me join ✌️

Hello, I am an engineering student with great passion for star wars, star trek, marvel and DC comics. I joined cause I want to replicate MIB neuralyzer (first project).

Hi Folks,
I'm David Jackson. I've been perfecting my skills at making Apollo A7L spacesuits for a couple decades now. I've also made a few scifi props using one of my 3d printers (that I built) I love Star Trek, especially The original series.
Glad to be here, everyone take care,
David

Hi all,

I don’t make props or anything like, but I do create projects where I can, making bespoke games and paper/cardboard innovations for my boy when he was young.

I have no past prop creation credentials but have found my way to own an Anders/Tip Top PKD blaster kit. Thus, having been directed to previous build logs here I knew I had to join. Now that I have started, where better to ask all of those stupid questions that only a beginner can ask. I have many.

The creative efforts going on here are an embarrassment of riches, and I am sidetracked by a hundred projects every time I visit the site. Kudos to everyone.

First stop, the Blade Runner blaster kit. Maybe I’ll have to move on to the Indy diary after that.

Cheers,
C

Hello! My name is Rahl, I am a big fan of the Terry Goodkind books The Sword of Truth and the TV series by the same name. I have been wanting to make the titular sword for many years, and I think I'm finally ready to take my first steps into prop making.

Hi everyone, I am very new here!
Like others have mentioned I also found out about this forum from Adam Savage's Tested YT channel.
He was showing his Middle Earth maps. He mentioned that he posted it here, so I went looking. I am a huge film fan and have been making TV commercials for most of my work life. I always enjoyed working with the art dept. - although I have not made much myself. I enjoyed the dialogue of getting props and costumes made.

I am hoping to get a 3D printer and start making some models.

Greetings, all!
I've been lurking for far too long, so now it's time to appear!
Just taken early retirement, so I can now spend more time on all the projects I'd been fantasising about creating over the years!
I'm in Scotland, and at the moment, I'm working out just how far I can push my skills in creating!
Enough of my ramblings; I'm off looking for my next idea!
Cheers, all!

Hi all, I'm already in awe of what people are making! I've been 3D printing for a few years, but now have returned to electronics as my son is in college and has gotten the bug. Big fan of everything sci-fi, mostly Star Trek, Doctor Who, and Star Wars, but into some anime, lots of Marvel... Currently building a Fanhome R2, and modifying some sonic screwdrivers to be universal remotes and RFID "tools" ;) We're also looking to make working psychic paper, and a somewhat functional Tricoder (TOS). The big project will be an autonomous K-9 robot with a number of home defense/safety features built in. Really happy to find this site and finally clear the hurdles to get in, thanks!

Hi from the UK, I've been into props for a while. Not professionally, but as a hobby. I'm a trained mechanic, but working half the time as a carpenter repairing old furniture and the other half doing property maintenance, so I'm usually having to make something, usually with a fair amount of improvisation. I heard of this forum from Adam Savage on YouTube, and thought it sounded like my kind of place.

Hello everyone, I just joined and I like Pulse Rifles! :)

I have the black Matrix Airsoft version. Getting a "hero" version would be a dream, but they seem rarer then hens teeth unless you have the skill to build yourself.

Hi, my name is Aaron and I am new to prop making and costume building. I love anything to do with Batman but I am more into the armored look than the comic style. I have learned so much from everyone already. I started about a year ago. I would love to learn sculpting, molding and casting urethane armor and more. Looking forward to learning from the best, and getting new ideas and constructive criticism.

Hello, decided to register as i kept finding myself winding back here when working on different costumes and decorations and realised maybe i am a "prop and costume" person. Have posted my last thing which was a Ferris Buller vest thanks to the advice on that thread. You guys are all amazing and much more talented than me.
