Hello,
I mostly like following other people's builds.
Fascinated by the mechanics of intricate machinery but a simple Inception totem will also catch my attention.
I know some electronics, some metal machining, and some 3D modeling.
Want to learn more about mold making and casting.

Currently printing this version 0.00001 of "Ghost Key" from the "Locke & Key" graphic novels.

Haven't seen the Netflix show yet but all the ads have made me go through and read them again.

Hello!

I'm a workshop technician in a school in the UK. I don't know much about props or costumes (metalwork and fine woodwork are more my thing) but I love films and I regularly have students wanting to make things from their favourite films and games. I've joined here to learn more about the techniques and materials involved and to (hopefully!) keep up with my students and encourage them better!

Mr Capper

Hey guys! I used to browse the RPF a long time ago when it was in it's original format looking for different inspiration and ideas. I am currently moving into my first house that I will own and excited to create my new shop space to work on all sorts of interesting custom projects and original designs! I decided to jump back on here and become a full fledged member and interact with as many makers as I possibly can as I get back into my old hobby. I love the idea of owning your own props from your favorite stories and customizing them to give them your own story. Some of my favorite inspirations are Hellboy, The Avengers Movies, and most of the classics like Ghostbusters and Back to the future. Can't wait to see what you've made!

Hello everyone
I did smaller projects (like the signed script from Oldboy) a couple years ago. I've always had an interest in doing replicas by myself. Over the past year I've gotten into it again, because I needed distraction from other things and this is just the perfect hobby for me to zone out and have a relaxing time.

Besides the replicas from specific movies I created, I did also a small cold-war-spy-corner because this subject is one of my favourite. "...just all the JBs..." as quoted in Kingsman :) James Bond, Jason Bourne, Jack Bauer,... I especially liked the tv series The Americans! Mission Impossible (particularly the early ones) are great movies as well as "standalone movies" in the cold war setting, for example Atomic Blonde, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, Bridge of Spies. Of course some books are also an inspiration for me - needless to say John Le Carres bibliography.

As much as I love the aforementioned setting, I have a soft spot for EVERYTHING connected to archaeology-adventure and treasure hunting. Of course all began with Indiana Jones and continued with The Mummy, Uncharted (Games), Lara Croft (movies and games) and the like. Literature-wise I love most of James Rollins' novels, Robinson Crusoe and something like that....

I have in view to do some larger, more ambitious replica work and hope that I am capable of all the technicalities. I'm sure at the RPF I will get all the help and support I need. To start slowly I intend to craft Cast Away's Wilson and as a more challening project i think of the ocular device from National Treasure.

I hope that I could give you a interesting look into my portfolio and my motivation - replica related :) Personally I'm living in Switzerland with my parents and my older brother. My older sister already moved out and is currently constructing a new home in a close village.

Please have a look at the attached files and don't hesitate to ask me questions!

Alex

Hello I come to make my little presentation:
lycan_10.jpg

Nickname : XB2000
First name : XB ... 2000 (or Jacques)
Age : 25
Professions : Dreamer, automotive engineer

Origin of my Nickname : XB, code name of the Citroën BX project (they had to look for its commercial name for a long time ...) and 2000 like the Knight 2000 in Knight Rider.
Location : East of France

Favorite movies : Taxi 1 & 2, Jean-Paul Belmondo's filmography, The Terminator, Jurassic Park, Mad Max 1 & 2
Favorite books : Jurassic Park, Christine
Favorite music : Rap, Retrowave
Favorite video games : Hitman, Forza and Halo series

The person who inspires me the most respect : There are so many ... Mainly former French actors: Jean-Paul BELMONDO, Alain DELON, Lino VENTURA ... as well as the dialogist and writer Michel Audiard.
The most gifted person in my opinion with a lightsaber : Connor McLeod, on the other hand, King Arthur (6:37), should not be counted too much on it ...
The most gifted person with a sword : See just above (except that there, King Arthur knows how to use it)
The most gifted person with a gun : Chocolate Mousse

Bulk :
To complete, I have always been passionate about cars from a very young age, I "fantasized" about the Knight 2000 and the BX of a neighbor (which was however basic and always seen at a stop it seems to me). My adolescence was then rocked with Initial D. Now I'm a fan of old French films from the 70s and 90s and French rap from the 90s and 2000s. I like technology, not as a simple use, but as a creative tool. The science fiction of yesterday is the science of today (not for all of course).
Financial level and congestion, the construction of a "real" Knight 2000 (not a simple Pontiac Firebird converted into KITT of Knight Rider) being impossible for the moment, I decided to try to make a kind of prototype of Terminator 800 series.
I also have a Youtube channel where I make parodic video montages:

Hey all! I've heard about RPF for a long while, but only recently dove in. I'm looking forward to learning from all of your projects and experience, and applying it to my own!

I'm starting a thread for my build of the armor from The Mandalorian, and if you're interested you can check it out here!

Just dropping a note to say "hello from me". I'm Neil, living in New Zealand, and with the lockdown in progress, started looking for replica's to print/built/paint. I'm in the middle of a district 9 AR right now, and just came across a Destiny gun... time to sign-up I said!

Hello! I am from the US and a huge Aliens, Ghostbusters, and Star Wars / Trek (Occasionally) fan. My favorite prop would probably be the Hero M41A PR from Aliens.

I have heard about the RPF and it's resources from various sites such as Aliens Legacy, etc. and how it is a great resource to help with builds. I am currently working on a Hero PR.

I guess I am kind of "new again." I was originally here in the 1990's under the name "Lucasberg." While we were all trying to figure out exactly what the scope mount on Han Solo's ANH blaster looked like I did a famous screen capture from a VHS tape that was dubbed "the Lucasberg Capture." What great times we had. I came back many years later and could not reactivate my account so I started this one. It appears it may have been 2018 when I did that.

Back in the day I was all about Star Wars props. I made a number of my own, which are in a display case. Being a Toolmaker has been especially handy as I can machine my own parts.

Since 2006 I've been working on a filmmaking career. Last November we had the Red Carpet Grand Premiere of a feature film that was adapted from a novel by a Best Selling Author. The name of the film is "Embrace the Twilight." It is NOT related to the Twilight saga. I was Director of Photography of the USA Unit. I shot about 90% of the film that ended up on screen. This is my biggest project to date. The film if over 2 hours long. There are over 60 credited actors. We are in the process of the final distribution edit, and have a couple distributers interested for International distribution. I need to send off the official theatrical trailer to the composer for an original score. I just got done editing it. I did NOT edit the film, but I did some special effects editing.

Hi everyone...registered on the forum since 2014 I frequently come to see different projects more extraordinary than each other...rather collector, star wars is my domain only tired of waiting for projects that do not succeed (Efx....). I decided to launch into the models and more precisely scale replicas...After the Millenium Falcon I'm going to work on the Y-wing...I will allow myself to ask you for advice and to use your skills and know-how...See you soon on a special tread...
Stay safe

Hi there all,

New member here. My name is Jon and I'm mainly a massive SW fan. But I love most little rubber monsters and creatures, mainly influenced by Jim Henson!

As a child I made various models and puppets using latex and faux fur etc all long gone now. But my son recently got into Gremlins so I decided to try my hand at a Gizmo model.

Hope you like him, his body is a bit big I think but generally I'm really pleased how he turned out.

My next project is a Child (baby Yoda) model.

Hi!

I'm Toon from Belgium and already have hundreds of ideas to replicate props, currently I have no real workshop, but I'm planning to renovate my garage into a all-around shop/mancave, just like member Adam Savage!

I have a degree in electronics, currently messing around with arduino & 3d printing.

All-time favorites are Jurassic Park & Lost, I just love bunkers in a tropical forest!
Also Star Wars, Indiana Jones & James Bond are among my favorites.

what I'm planning to build:
concrete border for my outdoor fish pond with miniature Jurassic park fence (original, with blinking amber& blue lights) with next to it a sonar fence pole from Lost, with a wifi accesspoint & loudspeaker integrated into the shells. + Swan station (Lost) hatch door with integrated light to cover my pump and filter.
