Good morning, Afternoon or Evening- whichever the case may be.

I'm Neil, new to the forums, based in Durham UK.
I'm a huge fan of monsters and especially Clive Barker's characters. I'm currently learning make up fx as well as doing my day job. I've always been really inspired by the work of Tom Savini, Rick Baker and Tim Gore, just to mention a few names. I'm also working on a few personal projects and replications and finally found my way here after huge recommendations from friends.
I'm looking forward to making some good friends and connnections and hopefully I will be able to glean some good insight from other members.

Hello everyone, my name is Phil. I am so fascinated by the replica prop builds and the craftsmanship of everyone in this forum.

My prop interests are wide and diverse, ranging from big budget sci-fi movies, to horror, to video games. My background is in graphic design and web development. So I have no real experience in prop making or fx, but this is one thing that really interests me. I'm happy to join this merry band of misfits and maybe even contribute something someday.

Hello!
I'm a new member. I was searching for some good Mass Effect stuff to build for my future cosplay and hope to find it here. It seems there's a lot of interesting stuff so... Hope to be here as much as I can ^_^

Hi everyone! I'm Jessica and I'm from Mexico city, I'm starting to get into costume and prop making. I have a degree on graphic design and I'm a full time web developer, in my free time I'm creating props. I Also like to do re-paints of toys and I want to learn more about electronics.

I'm so exited to be part of this community and be able to learn, try new things and materials and also help.

Jess

Hello!

My name's Hatter and I found this site while trying to piece together a costume for Captain Cold. The forum was exceedingly helpful! I managed to find a bit of the outfit that hadn't been identified yet, so I joined to share that with everyone. My friends are experts at cosplay, I'm just dipping my toes in for the first time.

Hello True Believers, I'm fairly new to cosplaying, so I'm learning a lot. I'm a huge Sci-fi, DC and Marvel Comics fan. I'm currently working on an Alien Nostromo Kane outfit. I'm looking forward to interacting with many of you as possible.

Hello RPF !

I've been an off-and-on lurker but I am finally getting into working on my first major costume, a TIE Pilot. I am already a member of the 501st and have a full, unfinished kit. I am getting ready to start the trimming and prep to get working on it.

Up after my TIE Pilot, I am hoping to build a White or Green MMPR or Dredd. I'm looking for inspiration and guidance !

Howdy RPF,

My name is Chris, I've heard a lot about the RPF but wasn't sure if it was for me but decided to check it out. I'm a scale modeler and tabletop wargamer interested in doing some more sci-fi kits and perhaps some scratch builds, like a scale Clap Trap. I have a hobby blog dedicated to model building for tabletop wargaming www.theartistofwar.com where I try to share the techniques that I've learned. I look forward to learning from all the members of the RPF.

Hello everyone,

I am Robert and I am extremely new to all of this, last week I sort of had the idea of wanting to make a 4 foot robot from a game but didn't know where to start and googled around and found this amazing website. Now one week later I have an idea of how the process works but still don't know what I am doing so I decided to start small with a YuGiOh millennium puzzle. I realise you can buy these but it would be fun to make one my self and try make it better than the brought ones. That is about it... Now I plan to start a conversation thing on how I should go about making this puzzle as I am a noob!!!!

Hi there

My name's Prav, and I accidentally stumbled onto this website whilst trying to look for Halloween costume ideas about 2 years ago. And since then I've been lurking and absorbing as much info as I can. I figured now was the right time to formally join.

Looking forward to being part of the community!

Hi!

My name is Sam and I live in Dallas. I stumbled across this site while looking for tips to help with a Frieza costume I'm making for FanExpo Dallas. This will be my second con and second time cosplaying so I hope it turns out well. I'm really happy I found this site! I've already made note of some handy tricks and tips that will help me with this project as well as future ones.

As usual I am overly ambitious and will be attempting to finish this build in 5 days :D Wish me luck!

Hello RPF,

My name is Jeff and I live in ontario. Huge anime fan and i love building weapons. Adam savage has been my big inspiration, as well as tested. Looking forward to posting some projects soon. very amateur lol. I've got some big ideas and hopefully they can come out of my head soon :)

Hello everyone! My name is Sean and I'm from Minneapolis, MN. I've been reading threads here for a few years now and thought I should probably make an account :D So here is a little bit about myself for anyone who may be interested;

I've been making props and replicas on and off for my personal use for about 15 years now, last April I quit my job and opened a small Etsy shop to see if I could actually make a living off of my craft, and just over a year later and I'm happy to say that I've been able to pay my bills and grow my skills exponentially! I love the RPF and always come here for inspiration when its lacking in my head. I'm going to be doing a few large build threads this week to hopefully give back some of the inspiration that I've received from this awesome community!

Feel free to PM me if you have any questions!

-Sean

Hi to all,
I found out about this page while trying to make a replica of “Advanced potion making” book from Harry Potter. I am still new when it comes to prop marking and would much appreciate it if I could be guided along. I am still searching for the pages for “Advanced potion making ” still though. Could not find a proper pictures for the pages that will be going into the book.

Hello minna~~~

Well I am a cosmaker at least try to be one, I hate sewing so I prefer to craft my cosplays, not really sure about what else to write, but I am really good making costumes with normal stuff, so if I can help just let me know it~~~

I like comics and manga too~~ I made a flamethrower once ò.ó

Hope to be useful, thanks~~~

Hey folks! First time poster, long time admirer.

I have been doing costuming/cosplay to varying degree for years now, but haven't treated it very seriously until recently. This past month, a few friends and I put together a life-size robot costume from Laputa: Castle in the Sky . We first attempted the costume last year, but the construction wasn't nearly strong enough for the rigors of a convention; version 2 however, was a great success! Here are pics:
Version 1 at Fanime 2015: fanimegrant52515.jpg Version 2, 2016: flower52616.jpg

Check out the build log on our blog: http://youngmakersclub.blogspot.com/

Anywho, I'm excited to get crafty with y'all and learn from everyone!
