Hi all! New to the forums from the UK.
Become interested in the subject after watching many vids on tested.com :)
1st build is looking to be a hitchhikers guide to the galaxy (the guide itself), some parts are on order and I'll be scouring the forums for some tips and hints when I start building :)

Hello everyone. I'm a new member however I am not new to the forum as I am a frequent visitor when I look for references. I'm looking forward to comunicating with many of you so we can be the most creative that we can possibly be.

Hello all

im farely new to the idea of building and collecting props and replicas but it is something im loving the site of.
i am into my games and comics first and foremost, i have got a few of the replica hidden blades from assassins creed, one of my hobbies is collecting warhammer, i love building and painting it. (if your curious i play chaos, nugle)

my main reason for joing is id love to get my dad a replica/resin kit of the dredd lawgiver so he can build and pain his own. (should mention he is also into warhammer same as me)
unfortunatly everywhere i go its either ridiculously expensive, already painted and sold out, if anyone can point me in the right direction id love you, im not looking to spend loads of money as i dont have that much, any help would be greatly appriciated.

Hello all. I just found this forum through Google while looking for Fuller's Earth and decided to sign up. I am a big movie/tv prop fan.

Hello everyone you can call me manson!

Since these i have acquired more tools and look to make far better costumes and props! I hope to collaborate with some of you soon!

Already have seen a lot of good advise on here. Looks like a great community of people.

Hi everyone, my name is Dan, I'm from the UK and am a total noob at all things costume, prop, replica and cosplay related! I found The RPF quite by accident recently whilst researching Kylo Ren cosplay materials, and it seemed like a great place.

I'm a Digital Illustrator by profession and would love to learn a new artistic hobby that's a little more 'hands on' than pushing pixels round a screen. The things that I see fans create constantly blow my mind and I have always been in awe of the skills that people have bringing their favourite IPs to life! I have literally zero experience in making anything physical such as a costume or prop, so I'm looking forward to trying, failing, and learning a lot.

In terms of my collection, the only thing I have of note at the moment is my Anovos Standard Line First Order Stormtrooper bucket that finally got delivered about a month ago. It is gorgeous and was well worth the 3 month wait! I love their stuff, but man is it expensive, as I'm sure you all agree.

For my first planned project, I'd like to customise an off-the-shelf Kylo Ren lightsaber hilt. I saw a great tutorial on YouTube recently where a chap had taken a £10 Hasbro Kylo toy, resprayed and weathered it and it came out looking pretty cool. The toy itself is a pretty good copy of the movie prop, it's just got a cheap looking, child friendly finish. I think this would be a good project for me to try first as it should take me about a week and there doesn't SEEM to be a huge margin for error (famous last words). Eventually I'd like to build my own Kylo Ren costume and get 501st approved. Baby steps though!

Thanks for reading and I hope to chat with some of you soon!

Hello everyone,

I recently joined this site because I have started going to NYCC each year with a few friends of mine, and I always enjoy cosplaying! After searching for how to make MCU's Spiderman shifting lens, I found a thread (forum? I'm very new to all of this, do not yet know official terms well lol) that was kind enough to provide free files of MCU's new Spiderman costume WHICH I AM THRILLED ABOUT!! All credit for that thread/forum (again, don't know official terms yet) goes to Kenlandrum, who I would tag if I knew how lol. If he reads this, I thank you very much for providing such accurate and beautiful files.

I am very excited about my future cosplays now that I am a member of the RPF, and I hope I can use my engineering skills to help the community too! Now time to go edit my profile a little :3

Hey everyone,
Figured I've admired everyone's work for long enough might as well join the conversations. It's great to see a community with so many people passionate about their hobby. I must confess, I have an ulterior motive in this as well. There are many of you who work with mold making, and I find myself considering something that will require mold making. However I have neither the time to dedicate to learning that skill, nor the budget for yet another expensive hobby (with small likelihood of turning to paying for itself). I figured at least here I may find either a willing partner in crime, or someone who would know where to point me. See what I'm looking to have molds made of is actually my own original sculptures, which aren't actually prop based or anything like that, but purely creations from my own two hands and creativity. (The sculptures are made of rock and I'm thinking of having several that I can cast in plaster or possibly concrete to have to play around with other ideas than just what I've made with the stones themselves.)

So, now you know my dirty secret, how I wish to use you all. But I'll still be around enjoying seeing what all you creatives come up with. Perhaps in time I'll have things that relate a bit more closely to the prop/replica side of this forum. May the force be with you. Live long and prosper. Other catchphrases meaning that I wish you well on your adventures.

Jonathan

Hello!

I'm a long time lurker, first time registering member to the RPF. I'm from Florida initially, and now live out in Las Vegas. My main crafting talents are in sewing, but I love making props and other things as well, and I'm hoping for some inspiration to be found in these pages. <3

Thanks all!

Hi!

My name is Eric, and I've also been lurking around for quite a while. I love making props and costumes and I also love watching others make them. I'm currently making a NCR Veteran Ranger armor from Fallout: New Vegas. I've made a few cosplays earlier, but this is by far the one that I've put most effort/money on.
Not that much to say though, I live in Sweden, and if you run into me at a con, make sure to say hi!

Long live the NCR!

Hey guys!
Finally joined after lurking for a good few months, from the UK. Stumbled here from listening to the 'As Yet Untitled' Podcast with Adam Savage and the Tested guys. Just cultivating an interest in props, the finer details of them are gorgeous!

Anyway........ off to find something else fascinating....... might take me a while to look through it

Cheers :D

Hi everyone,

this is Chris and I`am very glad to be a part of this very great community. I have heard a lot of the RPF for now and it sounds nice. This forum might be a very great chance to meet people with same interests.

I am from germany and I have been a Star Trek fan as long as I could remember. What I love most are LCARS panels and Star Trek PROPS. Also complete Star Trek scenerys like bridge sets. My passion is to build authentic LCARS displays and that as authentic as possible.

Thanks for reading Chris

Hey all ! Well I finally registered here on the RPF I have been a member on The Dented Helmet (TDH) same user name, for a few months now and have really gotten in deep on building a 501st approved Jango Fett costume. I don't have a lot completed but have almost all the pieces I need to complete it. I'm making all the leather parts myself so far the only thing I have that is complete is the ammo belt. I've been hung up on getting the flak vest perfect (not easy) I'm on my third vest right now and finally have the measurements correct.
I also do a lot of Vintage Star Wars Toy restorations. Complete tear downs and repairs of the electronics followed by cleaning and removing that yellowing that occurs in old plastic toys followed by printing new stickers then reselling them so I can buy more projects to work on. It never ends lol. I have lots of scans from the original vehicle and playset sticker sheets and cardboard pieces + instruction sheets. So if anybody happens to be interested those kinds of things just let me know. I would be more than happy to share my scans.

Greetings!

I'm trying to be Batman, the volunteer, not the hero. I found this searching for quality Arkham video game series suits, and wow!

I started cosplaying Batman last year, and working on becoming a volunteer at Children's Hospitals, which is where I'm looking to step up my game (and go latex-free). I'm a big fan of the amazing detail cosplayers put into their work, and I only wish I was as talented. However, I'm looking forward to reading and sharing with you all!

Thank you for welcoming me in! See you around these inter webs!
