Hello :)

I'm Ben, from Cardiff in the UK. A friend pointed me towards this forum as I'll hopefully be creating some 40k cosplays in the near future and she says I might find good advice and tips here ^^

Hey everyone. :) Been reading this forum for a while mostly for the Martian space suit thread. I'm mostly experienced in the area of sewing and work in a theater costume department but would love to learn other crafting and building skills for my costumes and cosplays. Have mostly made historical and fantasy costumes in the past, want to learn more about space suits and sci-fi stuff. Thank you for welcoming me to such an interesting community. :D

Hello, everyone! A lurker turned member here.
Been making costumes for awhile, took a break, and I'm back at it again.
Look forward to learning from everyone here and sharing what I make!

Hi every one :D

Honestly I feel somewhat ashamed for not having posted on this forum first when I created my account. Well better late than never I suppose!

I used to work for my high schools drama department and became the resident prop master for a year. This is where I began to truly appreciate making props and ever since I have enjoyed it thoroughly. I learned most of my experience with tools and techniques through fixing up some old cars and helping with construction.

My real niche would probably be Fallout as of this point in time as I absolutely love the franchise, I'll probably be building some star wars props in the future but I'm really open to making anything that just looks cool.

My first actually costume was a NCR ranger outfit from fallout New Vegas ( Definitely need to go back and recreate this one, my old one's starting to fall apart.). Currently I've been working on a Fallout New Vegas inspired prop which is actually my first ever thread on the site. Other than that there really isn't much else to say. I hope to have fun and enjoy my time on this site and make some pretty cool stuff.

btw if you check out my thread I deeply apologize for my noobish/ sloppy layout, definitely will improve on that.

Hi everyone at the rpf. I wanted to introduce myself and say thank you to all the talented makers here that are a real inspiration not just to me but to a lot of people around the world.

My name is Lee and I run a Facebook page called Mercenary Makes. We are currently gearing up for London comicon in May. So at the moment we are working on a lot of different fallout inspired cosplay. I will be posting some of our builds here too and we hope it too might inspire people to get involved even if not in cosplaying and costuming but in crafting and creating and bringing your fandom to life.

A lot of what we are building is our interpretation the fallout universe. And we hope you enjoy looking at what we are up to.

If you want to check out all our builds you can find us on Facebook just search Mercenary Makes. .

Hi everyone, I found out about this site from watching Adam Savage on youtube on his Jason Bourne travel bag. Was interested in learning more about prop making, so I came a running. I have made two simple props for Call of Cthulhu role playing game some years back, an old manuscript for The King in Yellow and a prop that I have yet to finish. The unfinished one is a printing of pages on aged paper that looks like it could be an early unknown form of Latin. I need to make a binding for it so it looks like a old diary from the Victorian age. I have also bought machined props like a lightsabre from Return of the Jedi; but props you make yourself hold special meaning and are hard to part with; if ever.

bonjour

Hi guys,

I'm Gavin from Northern Ireland.

I've been aware of the RPF for many years now and have used it in the past but have never officially created an account…until now!

My 2 main loves are Star Wars and Lord of the Rings. A few months ago I joined the Emerald Garrison and got my Rebel Pilot cleared. I'm a fan of lots of other geeky movies and TV shows so I'm hoping to get a few new costumes up and running very soon.

Great to finally be here!

Hey there!

I'm new here, obviously. Just got my first Spider-man costume and I'm looking for some tips on lenses and faceshells. Can anybody help me out?

Thanks!

Hey everybody! Brad "Bardo Fett" from Texas, here...Super Star Wars fan (obviously)...did my first big build for Ep.II - complete Jango Fett costume - even helped launch a few of the original "soft part" forums over on Dented Helmet. That was before kids and family...now mainly collect stuff...got my OT Stormtrooper set from Anovos coming any day now...what else? Huge Jeep fan, as well - "Fett's Pride" is a 1997 TJ - she's about as solid as the Slave I. Anyway, I've used this site countless times, so thought I'd finally join! Thanks in advance for all your help!

Hello everyone. Glad to join the ranks here. I've been trolling the site for years as a 501'st member and cosplayer and decided it was time to register

Hello everyone! I am currently building a Snow Trooper Commander to join the 501st legion with and I am here seeking an ESB DL-44 replica. Among my initial search of the forum I found that there is much more to it than just Star Wars and that is awesome! I love Star Wars but I also love Batman and many other super heroes so I was glad to see they were included here. I have heard a lot about this forum and I finally decided to check it out for myself. Thanks for having me!

Good morning

Hi I have been searching the Internet for a few months now looking for the best place to be inspired and found that here would be the best place to stick around and get ideas and help

Hello Eneryone,

My name is Nick I heard about this site though various podcasts. I love to know how it's made. And I want to start making stuff, keeping the hands quiet as they say.

Hello All. I've been here for about 6 months but this is my first post. Husband and I are both doing our first builds. I am in the process of making a Cyberman from Doctor Who (from a pattern on this site) and my husband is almost ready to start the finishing on his K9. The goal for K9 is to have it ready for St, Louis Comic Con.

Hi all,
I am a new member huge fan of Star Wars.
Nice to meet you all.

Regards,

Sam

Hi there. I've done some costuming previously. I'm currently working on Gamora from Guardians of the Galaxy. I've worn this costume once, partially completed, but hoping to fully complete it soon. I'd really appreciate any advice from anyone who's built / sourced for Gamora previously. Thank you :):):)
