Howdy everyone.

Found this site by chance while looking for some awesome dioramas inspiration. My big love are props. If I could go back in time and choose my career, it would be prop artist/maker in a heartbeat!!! I always had a fascination for those, and my interest got so much bigger since I started collecting 1/6 scale action figures. I'm so into it that when I watch a movie or tv show, I see all these props everywhere!! The only "prop" I have is a late 1980s 5ft tall cutout of Captain America by John Buscema mounted on foam core that was THE piece in Marvel Comics lobby. One day they were renovating and throw it away, so I kept it (lucky me I was working there!) Now family life eats up 90% of my disposable income. One day I'll win the Powerball and go props crazy!! Watch out!

Re: new to RPF

Welcome ! What are your interests ? There's a ton of past messages on previous builds that are fun to look at.

Re: new to RPF

Yeah, tell me about it, been here less than a month, I am now the proud owner of a Han Solo Jacket, about 15 lapel pins, medals and dog tags, batman mines, about 50 DL-44 parts, 3 or 4 Arc Reactors, about 20 light saber parts and more light sabers than I care to count. Thats just the stuff I can remember. Paypal froze my account because of all the activity.

Welcome to the poor house, err I meant the RPF.

Welcome. Leave your wallet at the door. This hobby can get expensive... ;)

Greetings,

Heard about RPF from a series of amazing videos with Adam Savage. While I've made costumes for others based on movies, video games, comics, etc. I make costumes for myself by re-visualizing known characters or by making one up based on a particular universe. If I were to replicate anything, it would be Sean Young's wardrobe as Rachael from Blade Runner and a stillsuit from the 1984 theatrical production of Dune. Right now I'm working on a piece of armor using hot glue and craft foam. Originally I thought it to be of an alien from the Star Trek universe, but it's looking more and more Harkonnen.

Hi there,

I live in London, England and I'm a fan of any kind of 1:1 scale sci-fi weaponry - phasers, lightsabers etc. My own collection is fairly small but I'm hoping to post an unboxing video soon for my new Blade Runner Blaster.

Cheers,

Richard

Hey, I'm Chris. Longtime lurker on the forums, finally decided to register. My current builds include a Luke TFA Graflex Lightsaber build based on the Korbanth/Parks Graflex 2.0 hilt and a cheap airsoft Han ANH DL-44 blaster. Happy to be joining such a great community

Hello folks! My name is Christopher, but most online call me Titan. I've been working on several things over the years, primary of which is my WW2 (mostly) era accurate Captain America. http://imgur.com/bTJDiR1 Here's where it was before some alterations, but it's constantly moving forward. I do have some other experience making props (Mostly from Video games and the like) as well as future plans to do some rather hefty builds. A pleasure to finally join this great community.

Brand new, just found out about this forum. I belong to the astromech.com builders club. I was looking for light saber parts and was told to check here.
also would like to make some other props as well.

Any info would be greatly appreciated
Thanks and I'm looking forward to talking with you
Kevin

Hey everybody! I've been lurking for a year or so and finally joined back in October. I never got around to introducing myself due to a very busy schedule of college final exams and the holidays, but here I am! I'm a big fan of Star Wars, Star Trek, Indiana Jones, and lots of other sci-fi and adventure films. Since I was a child I've enjoyed making things by hand (I remember building a lightsaber out of a bike-seat post and various hardware from the garage) and am looking forward to some more big-boy projects!

Hello all. I am a fan of many different franchises, films, and shows. I am very impressed by the talent and projects completed by the members here.

Hi all I'm Allan and I'm from Nottingham in the UK.

Not long joined but have browsing the RPF for quite a few years.

I'm kind of a Marvel maniac and also like Gundam.

Currently looking into building my first full costume for comic con in the UK this year. Thinking of going down the gundam route as I'm only 5'7" so wil make me a lot taller lol.

Have built a few costumes over the years for friends and family but never anything for myself.

Just need good reference material for Victory Gundam now ;)

Hello everyone, My name (As you could guess by my identity concealing username) Is Sam. i'm a very long time lurker of the boards and have been astounded by the work I've seen on here. I'm 22 and fascinated by movie/tv/fictional props and costumes. The idea of creating things from fictional worlds that we as fans like to delve into, just grips me. I love to hold something from a fictional world in my hands, a object from somewhere that's stolen my heart.

I'm quite new to prop/costume building and i'm enjoying learning every step of the way. I have a tendency to start a project and move onto another before finishing it, but i'm doing my best at over coming that. So I hope you'll all be very kind if I ever do start posting projects I may be working on, because like everyone here, I'm forever learning and growing :)

Greetings Earthlings!

Have loved this website for some time and have just signed up to finally get in the mix.

Hope I can be of some service to you all!

Hello!

I've been hearing a lot of good things about this site and now that I've decided to jump into the deep end with costuming and props it seemed like a good time to join.

I've made a few forays into the world of prop replication over the years. My latest project is Darth Zannah costume/cosplay. I'm really excited about it and I can't wait until it's done! My next project will probably be a Jedi costume or a replica of Thor's Hammer or Captain America's Shield. Eventually I'd like to build myself a Stormtrooper costume but that's not going to happen for a while.

Hello everyone!!

My name is Ryan, I've been lurking about this site for a while but this is the first time I'm stepping out of the shadow. I am 14 years old just starting to get my feet wet in replica prop making. I hope to start on my first build here in the next couple of weeks. I will probably be making a full scale mystery box from Waw, I hope to be putting lights and sound effects in it. I look forward to joining this great community of prop builders :)
