Hello everyone. Been following for a while now. Currently finishing up a TK build and look into moving into a Kylo Ren. This is the perfect place to learn the craft and offer any assistance i can.

Hi everyone. I guess I've always wanted to make things, and at the moment the maker/builder bug has a hold of me. I am learning some basic electronics to build toys for my son, and I'm also into having my own costumes but have trouble deciding where to start. I recently built my 4yo son a jetpack out of two empty mcDonald's kid's milk jugs :)

Looking for Fett armour, maybe some Ironman or Goldorak, or Robotech CVR-3 armour... :) Anything I can build on the cheap without any dangerous equipment or chemicals. I used to paint miniatures badly, have access to a 3D printer, and really just want to get into it again.

Since the nice email told me to, HI!

My name is Van, and I've been a long time builder of things and admirer of things that are built, in other words a Maker. I have come across this wonderful website by mention of Adam Savage and his love of all things prop, and have since caught the same bug. I decided that I wanted my own Skyrim Dragon Preist Mask, as many on this site have made, and since beginning it have found myself in love with the feeling of making something with my own two hands.

Hi,
My name is Harm, and as a few others i got note of this forum by watching adam savages youtube videos. ISo far i have mostly been doing electronics and some minor carpentry, but due to the tested videos and thigs like the face off tv show, i got interested in buildng props and costumes.
And since there's gonna be a comic con in germany next year, i have motivation.
So i'm looking forward to leeching of your experience and getting torn apart for all my mess-ups.

Hello, I found this thread while looking into fury road costumes, awesome bit of collaboration

Hey RPFers!

I heard about theRPF by watching Tested vids on youtube. I have always been into making tabletop models and scenery and want to try my hand at prop making.
In the past I tried pepakura and think I understand some of the basic concepts.
My plan is to start off by making a few pepakura helmets as a trial and error sort of thing, I know I have a lot to learn
Thanks in advance for all the knowledge and sharing as i am sure to be reading lots of peoples threads and tutorials.

Hello
I found out about this site while I was in Lowes looking for some parts to build my Ghostbusters Prop Proton Pack for my Cosplay Ghostbusters suit.
I've built life size Zombie dummies for photo shoots, since my passion is Zombie related stuff.
I also have a cosplay Ghostbusters suit of which I've made my ghost trap prop, and I just finished my proton pack prop.
I enjoy building my props if I can. I was happy to find out about this site, so if I have any questions about building a prop I would have access to answer a question and hopefully get some help from people who are familiar about what I'm trying to make.
I look forward to meeting other people on here who like to make props, and to see what other people create.
I'm a freelance photographer in Northern Colorado who got into cosplay during the Summer of 2014 and I enjoyed it enough to make my own Ghostbusters suit and gear props.
I'm hoping over time that I can create a few more cosplay characters/suits that I can wear.
I like making people smile as I'm dressed up in my cosplay gear, its a great way to meet people.
I think its really cool that a site specifically for props is here, and I look forward to learning from people who have been doing this a little longer than me.
I look forward to seeing what other people make, and sharing what I've made as well.
Have a great day.
Peace

Hiya! Longtime costumer and prop-builder. Only recently discovered RPF through Facebook and thought I'd hook up with the great minds here as well.

Hey there --

I discovered this site after a friend suggested it. Current projects are two E11 blasters, an ANH trooper build, Link, Paper Link, and Skyward Sword Zelda costumes for the kids' Halloween digs, and I'm researching and planning some possible gun builds from Splatoon, the recent Nintendo release.

Hey, folks! My name is John, I also go by Captblitzdawg. I am a former wannabe cartoonist- did some commercial work, charitable stuff, editorial cartoons, shirts, etc. Have recently gotten into cosplay. I have done Cyclops, Aquaman, Rescue Captain America, Spy Smasher, Red shirt Lone Ranger, Red Robin (the old Tim Drake version with the black cowl). But I enjoy Indiana Jones the most. I am also waiting on a seamstress to finish my flight suit so I can apply for entry to the Rebel Legion as an X-Wing pilot.I am in the Charlotte area.

Hi everyone! My name is Alex and I've been a fan of propmaking for as long as I can remember. I enjoy building sets and props and recently became very involved in the local theater works that is run by the city I live in. My first prop was Mr. Kreuger's glove (I'm a huge horror flick fan) and the latest project was the enchanted rose from beauty and the beast. In between I've built mostly star-wars related props (lightsabers and costume pieces). I am a machinist, mechanic, and electrician/electronics technician, which helps a lot when building the props and set. Looking forward to seeing all the great stuff folks are making here!

Greetings All!

I'm a very inexperienced maker/builder, but it is something I would really like to get into and just by spending a short time lurking I've already found some inspiration and everyone here seems pretty cool and supportive.

I found my way here courtesy of Mr. Adam Savage and the rest of the gang at Tested. I'm sure they've inspired many folks to drop by the RPF and I'm happy to be one of them.

I've got my first project in mind. I've always wanted a replica of an ST:TOS phaser, and it's not going to build itself. Wish me luck, and I'll post updates on my progress.

Greetings!
I'm an educator and filmmaker who worships STAR WARS. I've made a few "Veggie Burrito Westerns", progressive California-centric Western movies, as well as several avant garde Ancient Greek tragedy short films, and now I'm combining those influences into several nascent SW fan film projects. I'm making props, costumes, models etc. with my high school students, and am thoroughly excited to go into production as soon as possible!

Goedemiddag!(Good afternoon in Dutch)
I'm a young photographer and maker from the Netherlands,
Very interested in learning new skills, and I have a creative mind,
I fill my free time with photographing, making and doing carpentry.
Also, I follow some makers, Adam Savage, Tested.com, Volpin Props etc.
It's exiting to hang out on the RPF!

Hello Everyone, I've been a member here for a while but never really posted anything.
I've been building things for a long time.
My Eddie Van Halen Frankenstrat guitar and my Proton Pack are easily my most rewarding builds.

I'm currently working on a Chappie cosplay and look forward to getting to know everyone here.

Hello RPF community. I must say that I have zero talent when it comes to building anything, prop speaking that is. But I'm a huge admirer of the immense talent of most everyone I've seen here. I, myself, am a collector, & I focus exclusively on Star Wars. I love props, & prop replicas. Especially those of the O.T. The way they would take found parts & stick 'em on other found parts to make something totally unique... awesome. & then the model bashing to build space ships!... amazing.

Hi RPF, been a long time lurker and figured it was about time I actually got around to making an account here.

Don't really have much of a prop or costume collection yet but I am slowly working on building one up

Hi guys, I'm zekebill and I'm trying to learn modeling and I'd love to get some projects under my belt and acquire some skills. I found out about the rpf from Adam Savage and Tested.
