Hello all, SteveO here from Delaware. I love seeing new builds, am interested to see what you guys have posted (and will continue to post) on the forums, and here to help out a friend promote his new project (check it out in the Star Wars props thread). I look forward to chatting with you all!

Hi all, new here. I came across this forum looking for info on a winter soldier arm build and found a lot more. Glad to be here.

Hi i came across the RPF while doing a terra nova build after watching the series and thinking i had seen the big rifle somehwere before and researched it and found out NERF lol what a cool idea nerf toys are really cool kinda cheap way to go on props i suppose. I have been in a few movies and TV shows as an exrtra the Winds of War ,War and Rememberance as a member of the Screaming Eagles and we had the most terrible props but they looked so cool on the screen from the long shots i carried a british sten (stormtrooper blaster without the extras) and it was simply a pipe with holes drilled in it and a handle and wood clip the other rifles were some real, some rubber and some vacuformed amazing what they use in movies and tv. The Last Days of Patton we had actually pretty good looking props they were mostly all replica non firing guns, guess that was the highlight of being in the Air Force in the United Kingdom in the 80's they wanted clean cut GI's to play GI's lol i look forward to seeing all the cool stuff everyone builds here and attemping a few more builds this terra nova rifle has me stumped at the moment as all the images are gone but i am sure i will get some assistance from the cool people on here. JR

Hi, New to the community. Star Wars, Star Trek and sci-fi fan. Main interest is in vehicles, but have thoughts from time to time about costumes and props are well. Looking forward to some fun discussions!

Hello, I'm new to this site, but I'm not new to cosplay. I'm cosplayer for over 6 years by now and have over 40 costumes done. But most of them are anime and manga. I decided to join here after some time ago I started doing more and more marvel and DC costumes ^^ I document my progresses here https://www.facebook.com/HybrydasNest but I will be sure to drop some more interesting builds on the forum after I'm done with them. There will be Spider-Gwen and new Thor sometime next year for sure ^^

Hey everyone I'm a newbie when it comes to props and costumes, but I have ben thinking about making my first costume for some time now and I think it's finally time (after being a member for more than a year)! I made my account to help a guy out who was making an Edward Kenway costume from the Assassin's Creed games, but I want to try my own hand at it now. Yes the game has been out for a while, but there is just something about Kenways costume that makes it my favourite from the series.
Anyway you will probably see a new thread starting soon and please feel free to comment, I need all the help I can get. Right now almost all my ideas are still in my head, but I want to finally get started!

Hi all!

My name is Austin, I live in San Diego, and like most here I thoroughly enjoy costuming and am eager to know more people who enjoy it and more and better ways to do it. I attended comickaze '14 and in one of the panels, it was recommended to me to join up on the forum here to accomplish those goals.

Hopefully I can bring something to the table vs. solely take ideas from those more experienced. :p Thanks for having me, I look forward to getting to know as many people and things as I can! :)

Hi all.

I stumbled across this site whilst searching for lovecraftian props and have been pretty much hooked ever since, there is some serious talent here! I don't make anything myself as I'm not particularly gifted in that department but I do love to collect. Really looking forward to rifling through the site for some secret awesome.
This is the first forum that I have ever joined so a sorry in advance for any stupid mistakes that I make. I'm massively into film, horror and sci-fi in particular, and love to read mostly in the same vein.
Glad to be a part of the community.

Hello.

A few years ago I began making props and replicas for family and friends, primarily for cosplay costumes. I have been able to progress with the help of many sharing and kind prop makers posting here and elsewhere in the internet. Thanks! I hope that I may be able to return the favor in the future, maybe just a little bit.

I have been a lifelong craftsperson, happiest when I was making things. I have also been an active art restorer and conservator, operating my own freelance studio specializing in ethnographic art and antiquities for a few decades. I have also had a long background in wood and metalworking. This background has given me quite a bit of experience in a variety of materials and techniques that I find very useful in replicating objects that previously have only existed in digital realms.

Hey there,

Long time lurker, first time poster. I already make art and props for work and I thought that I'd join up and take part in the community. I look forward to learning and sharing with you all. Cheers!

Um, hi! I'm not exactly a new member--I think I joined in March 2013--but I haven't been around much and now that I want to start being more active, lurking less, and not forgetting that the site even exists *sheepish*, I figure I ought to introduce myself.

My name's Azar. I've been cosplaying off and on since I was in college, but have only really started *making* my own costumes recently. I've been sewing for about a year, and don't really consider myself remotely good yet. *g* Props-wise, I am an absolute amateur. I do a little bit of jewelry making and have made a fairly decent replica of Martha's bead necklace from Doctor Who, but that's about it. I am, however, eager to learn! I do collect...mostly action figures, but I have a few replica props and due to some extraordinary luck, a couple of authentic crew jackets. No original props or costumes: not in my budget by a long shot unfortunately. *g* And while I do regularly spend outside of what SHOULD be my budget, I have my limits. ;-)

Favorite franchises (although I dabble in MANY more):
Quantum Leap
Babylon 5
Doctor Who (new and Classic)
The Chronicles of Narnia
Scarecrow and Mrs. King
Back to the Future
The Wizard of Oz

So, um, yes, nice to meet everyone! :)

Hi everyone,
A friend recommended your site and I have been spending a few hours with my mouth wide open in awe of the creativity to be found here, so I had to join!
I am very new to cosplay and costume/prop making and just attended my first con in my own creation of an original character, a dragon-elf based on the Middle-earth movies. The sewing and leather work were incredibly rewarding and I hope to learn much more for many future costumes.
Thanks for sharing all your ideas and enthusiasm!

Hello!! I am not particularly new to the costuming community. I am also on the 405th as well but wanted to also do some other projects on here. If you want to find me on the 405th as well I am using the same username.

Hey

I'm a college sophomore out of California. I don't get much time to make things during the shcool year, but I try to make the most of my vacations.
I don't have much prop-making experience (mostly modifying Nerf/airsoft guns for cosplay), but I'm here to learn! My main interests are steampunk, western, and metal gear solid. If anyone has any good faux-engraving techniques, please let me know.

I'm a system developer consultant in Sweden. I've been a LARPer for almost thirty years and a reenactor for ten. I've been dabbling in airsoft too. I have both historical costumes and Sci-Fi like BSG and Fallout. I'm always interested in learning new techniques but mostly want everything to be practical and work for three to four days out in the woods. Of note might be the app I've made for iPhone called PIP-App to use on an iPhone put in a PIP-Boy.
