Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hey Folks,

My name's Veronica and I'm very pleased to have been accepted into the group. Not a professional by any means, simply love to create. Over the years I've worked on Halloween and Renaissance Faire costumes as well as helped create a school play backdrop or two. Some of my favorites were my husband's Klingon, our daughter as Inuyasha, and teen Nightcrawler from X-Men:Evolution, and my Logan/Wolverine:

Have always been interested in 'behind the scenes' and how things are crafted, this place is amazing!

Honored to be part of RPF!

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi guys, I'm a model builder from Australia, mostly I add radio control and build multi rotor drones but the idea of getting some of props fully functioning gets me excited. I only have one movie prop though n that's a lighting gun for the matrix movie anyone heard of that?

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hey all,
I am a stay at home Dad and a Pet Nutrition Consultant. I have a ton of 12v experience, so if you have a question in that department shoot me a message and if I can help I will. I'm pretty new to the prop/costume scene. In making some prop accessories for my costume I came across this forum. I spent a few hours going through different posts and projects and frankly I'm amazed at some of the creativity and attention to detail... I don't know that the stuff I've made is up to snuff but I love sharing my work, getting CONSTRUCTIVE criticism and comparing with others.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Greetings All,

I'm an RN by profession so if you need advice on wound care after the dremel mishap let me know. Rediscovered this forum after watching Tested a couple weeks ago. I've been inspired by Adam (I'm same age) to start building "stuff". I have no experience in prop building, or building of any kind really, but that's why I'm here. When I was about 9 years old I had a Dick Smith makeup kit which was great fun. I'd like to get back into some of that as well. First thing I want to learn is how to make castings and molds.

Hello everyone,Just found this site a week ago.First post I read was the guy building the scale mellenium falcon cockpit and was completelly amazed.Love this site very much now, can't seem to want to go anywhere else now.I'm hooked!Very inspiring and entertaining!

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello all,

I watch a lot of Tested videos with Adam Savage and he mentions this site a lot, so I decided to check it out. I'm very interested in replicas and creating stuff(not limited to props), mostly gadgets and electronics. My forte is CAD design and I love designing just about anything. I've been trying to save for a 3D printer, but thats not going so well since I'm currently in University, it will be my last year this term though. I'm doing a Bachelors of Automotive and Vehicle Technology.

Since CAD design is a hobby as well as a profession(I've done about 12 months of coop in the Auto design industry so far) feel free to ask me to create anything, and I will see what I can do. Would love to help out and have some things to do as well. Not that I don't have a lot to do already, but just ask! I love a good challenge.

I recently joined Thingiverse and have uploaded a few items and more will come very soon.

I have lots of hobbies and my most recent endeavour was fixing up a 1970 Cat 350SS Minibike which is a hoot! This took place on the porch of my temporary housing with minimal tools(I'm on a co-op in Columbus Ohio working at Honda R&D, I'm from Hamilton Ontario Canada and will be back there for school in
September). The bike is not perfect but I think it looks a lot better for a few weeks work.

I'm also designing it in 3D just for kicks.

Lastly, I do a lot of programming work, and have Arduinos all over the place. I'm working on a GPS based autonomous RC vehicle for school which should be complete this December(hopefully). And I have a couple side projects that I will probably introduce shortly. I'm very interested in micro electronics, trying to do small gadgets, but they are proving to be a very steep and difficult learning curve.

A dream of mine would be to have a career in movie tech, such as usable prop vehicles and gadgets.
I hope to learn a lot here.

Hello everybody, I'm new here and I'm going to start a spiderman suit project and I might need some help. So far I've bought the file and I'm having trouble uploading it to FOD. If I can ever get past the second step I will start posting my progress.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

hey, I am newbie (though I joined the site a while ago, I didn't particularly post a thing) and glad to be here, seeing some awesome stuff. I also like to create stuff and hope to have a chance to show my work in here, sooner or later :)

Hello, I am Adam from New South Wales Australia. I am a father of 6, a Star Wars fan and a member of the 501st Southern Cross Garrison. I like to collect and make modls in my spare time. I am here for the wealth of knowledge in these forums to learn and expand my brain if possible.......lol

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

ello, first time poster, short time lurker. Just found this site when I was struck with the insperation (read; pipe dream) of making a pilot suit from Pacific Rim. After about 10min on here now I want to make everything!!!

I have toyed with the idea of a halo suit and an ironman suit for some time now but might start a bit smaller than any of those.

I dont really have any sort of collection currently, unless you count my 'limited' (yeah right, Im not that naive to thing there arent a few thousdand copies of Halo Reach Limited Edition out there lol) edition games - I'm a sucker for those.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Heya, just thought i would finally join up and start posting. Been lurking on here for a while, i have a finished halo suit (pics will go up soon) and a few other suits and cosplays that will slowly be uploaded. See you all around :)

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Greetings and Salutations,

New to the forum and what not. I came across it while searching for some details on the Blade Runner blaster.

I am attempting to gather a significant collection of various movie guns to make my own little nerd armory. (M41A, DL-44, PKD 2019, etc. etc.)

I have done some prop making already. I made a DL-44 from an airsoft C-96 and parts from Blas-Tech. I have done a harry potter wand for my sister. My first go at any kind of modding/prop making was modding a hasbro E-11 that I did with a doopydoos kit.

I still have some work to do on my profile and all that new guy to a forum stuff. I look forward to learning what you all have to offer.

Regards,

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello!

I have been browsing for a bit and been unable to find what I want. And some friends on another forum told me that I should stop by here. After browsing and seeing what people have done, I have taken the plunge and started looking around.

I am largely into the Star wars genre, but as halloween and costuming comes around, who knows what I'll be looking for!

I look forward to interactions with you all.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi all,
I have lurked on this site for years and figured it was about time I finally joined. I've been into special effects and movie props ever since I first saw Stars Wars back in 1977. My dream at the time was to one day work at ILM. I majored in film making in college but unfortunately it's not how I earn a living. My all time favorite film is Blade Runner (of course Brazil is up there as well). I very much enjoy seeing all the amazing work that gets posted on here. Following all the different prop builds along with seeing progress pics is always inspiring. There is no shortage of talented artists here.

-Gene

I also love victorian costumes (from the classical Holmes playing), medieval and roaring 20s.
