Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello, my name is Curtis. I have been making amateur props since the mid 90's, when I was around 12 years old. I had the manual for Marathon 2: Durandal (and the game, too!) and became obsessed with the simple gun schematics Bungie provided. Since then I have made various suits of armor and guns, but always with skills and materials I already possessed. My budget has almost always been zero. Then growing up happened and I lost my passion for a while, dabbled in a bunch of other things and generally wandered through life, until two things happened: I stumbled upon a post by Bill Doran on reddit, leading me to thoroughly investigate his work and others'; and my little brother started working on a pepakura ODST set for SDCC. Consider my passion rediscovered! So for my first serious build, using industry standard methods and materials, I decided on a relatively simple build that nonetheless demands a lot of basic techniques. Twenty-one hours in (over the course of one month, sadly), this is my progress on Marathon 2's Zeus-Class Fusion Pistol:

See you starside :)

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Greetings and Salutations. My name is Gary and I'm an alcoholi...no...that's not right...

Forgive me father, it's been 6 months since my last confes...no wait...

I'm here to kick ass and chew bubbl...er...nope...

...dammit I suck at this...

Since I really don't know the protocol on how to introduce "me", I'll just say that I'm a long time fan of modeling props and costumes, a huge movie and TV geek, and a MacGyver extraordinaire of making things work that shouldn't or don't. I stumbled onto this website through one of the Admins Facebook pages, signed up, and then promptly forgot about it for 6 months. Since then I've moved out to Cali (Lived in Toronto before that) with my lovely, and she IS lovely, Waifu, got myself a proper studio to work in (ok ok ok...It's just a garage and half of my living room, but it's close enough) and have started on collecting all the necessary bits and bobs I need to make a real go at doing something I really enjoy. Mainly, turning my fantasy into reality.

I hope I can be a quality contributor, and with any luck, make this place my sounding board for all my future endeavors.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Good Day Fellow RPF friends,

Glad to be a member of a great site….

I found out about this site browsing for back to the future props on youtube. N E ways I found several videos and tutorials on much of the very cool things about the movie. I had a chance to share my childhood with my little brother. I don't know anything about building props and if I had the time I would at least make an effort (because after all every effort counts) but buying them from some of the guys who has mastered them is cool too. My first prop was the hover board a friend did for me. Not bad at all but he has passed. N E way I’m looking to make great friends and family. Thanks for allowing me to be a part of something great and memorable.

Hello All,

I've always been around searching this site on prop information but never really made an account or joined. I decided to join in hopes of finding out more information on one of my most sought after props. Lately I've been obsessing about the one ring. I've made these so far, imgur: the simple image sharer casted from jewelers wax carvings. I've been looking for the specs of the exact ring and been hoping to make one based on the dimensions. Great to be here!

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello all,

I'm on here because I'm a huge Back to the Future fan. So much so, that I have a DeLorean time machine that I rent out. I also have a bunch of other props from the trilogy, and I'm just starting to sell them too. So far, I'm only sellling Plutonium cases and 1955 skateboards, but it's a start. My main page about the car and props is on fb. It's facebook.com/SteelCityTimeMachine

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello Everyone,

I am new to prop making when I was younger I made a sand trooper backpack and have always been interested in making things from movies. Right now I am currently working on some N7 armor which is coming along great. I'm extremely excited to start new projects and learn all that I can as well as get better at making props.

Thanks,
Josh

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi,

I'm from Cologne in Germany and a complete newbie to the world of prop-making. I've finished a few pepakura pieces (mostly iron man masks) and have just decided to build a full clone trooper to test my skills.

I've found a few pep-files for this project (mostly Fierfek - thank you for sharing - great work!), however I'm still missing the knee, shoulder, gauntlet and hand pieces. If you are willing to share these files with me, I will be more than happy!!!!

A lot of the projects here have really inspired me to take up prop building as a new hoby. Your work is amazing! Thank you for sharing!

Robin

Hello,

My name is Steven. I joined the RPF because I am a huge fan of Adam Savage. He talks a lot about The RPF. I come here and browse around quite a bit. I decided to join because I really hope to be able to get some ideas and begin to make props as a hobby.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello,
Since the release of iron man 3, I have pondered the construction of my own iron legion. Recently I have discovered pepakura and have decided to embark on the endeavor, starting with the preparation of my own hall of armors. Now that the hall is near completion, I have decided that it is time to start the suits, beginning with the mark 22, my personal favorite. I know that this will be a long and enduring process, but I hope that with persistence and spirit, it may be achieved. Thank you for allowing me entry.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi everyone,
I have been a longtime R2 builder but now that I'm finished, I'm starting to branch out. I'm a big starwars fan, but I'm looking to get back to my batsuit.
I am an ID professional and build military products for a living. I have been able to use my production connections to build R2 parts in the past and hope to help out on some other projects here.
