Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello. I'm John from Texas. I am a collector of props much like the rest of you...Dexter, Star Wars, Batman etc. But I am also into collecting things of a darker subject as well much like what would see on Oddities, i.e. skulls, medieval weapons/torture devices etc. Look forward to interacting with you all and hopefully finding some neat stuff.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello there!

I'm Antoine from Belgium where I work as a CSI. Huge fan of sci-fi, heroic-fantasy, action and superhero movies/books. I'm a complete noob in cosplay crafting but there's a beginning to everything so I'm lurking here trying to assimilate the knowledge everyone share kindly here.

I'm starting with a IM suit and I think I'll continue with a Stormtrooper armor and as my skill evolve, I'll give a try for a republic commando armor, Skirata's commando style.

I used to be a warhammer player where I got some painting skill (coolminiornot gallery). Haven't seen so many 40k cosplay other than SM. May give it a try too.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hey Everybody! I'm Justin from VA, just signed up. I thought I would repaint and add lights to a Kenner heavy blaster for my 4 year old nephew who is a huge Star Wars fan who always wants to "play blasters" but doesn't have any, so I came online to see if there were any tutorials.

I had no idea that this community existed and have been totally blown away by all the amazing DIY projects here, so my enthusiasm for my blaster project has doubled. Awesome stuff!!

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi, my name is Rich I am a professional photographer, cameraman and digital visual effects designer. I started out at 6 years old making a star destroyer out of cardboard and lots paper and glue, it was a mess but to me it was brilliant. My Uncle bought me a book on the BTS of Empire strikes back and from that point I tried to learn as much about VFX as I could physically could. Fast forward 32 years I am Creative Director of my very small production company. Loads of dusty and well worn models in the loft and a modest portfolio of Matte Paintings that I have created.

I am pushing more into the VFX world but my new outlet will be for small productions and people who want there models professionally filmed.

One of my Matte Painting mates in Florida (Cheers Gordon!) gave me a clue about this awesome forum where for the last couple of weeks I have been lurking.

I am working on a film from the 80s and doing a Lucas and refilming/recompositing all the effects.

I have always wanted to do the snow speeder from Empire so hopefully you guys would be able to help out. Before you all boo and hiss at me I am one of the rare ones that thinks real models beats CGI hands down.

Nice to say hello,to you all

Looking forward to hearing from you all.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi all!

I go by Romy. I was recommended here by a friend after asking some questions about a replica suit that they had made. Forum newb, of course.

I'm an avid cosplayer and amateur costumer. My experience is pretty wide, from Medieval/Renaissance garb, to giant hammers (cardboard and paper mache), and my most recent forays include resin mask casting. I'm also just getting into theater work, handling props and the like. Also a long time artist, mostly drawn work, and dabbling in some modeling gigs (both costumed and fashion).

Hoping to get a feel for some basic and advanced costuming techniques and improve my skill over time.

Pleasure to meet you all~!

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi folks!

My name is Kerrin. I'm from West Sussex in the UK.

I've been aware of this place for a while but decided to join up after attending a view comic conventions here in the UK and meeting some people who are into cosplay and replica prop production. I'm a fan of pretty much all sci-fi film, literature and comics. Also action, world cinema and anything else that grabs my attention.

I'm a huge 2000AD fan so the recent Dredd movie has made me think about maybe having a go at making some of my own props. Other things I'm really in to are Bladerunner (since, it seems like, forever), Akira (film and comics) and Hellboy (love Del Toro's visual style). From a young age I've been an ardent Terry Gilliam fan (favourite, Brazil) and delight in any creator with a similarly skewed cinematic vocabulary.

Professionally I work in the Pro-Audio sector building cabinets for high end PA system manufacturers. It's not nearly as exciting as some people may initially think.

I look forward to checking out all the cool stuff you guys are up to and picking your brains when I finally get round to doing something myself.

Cheers!

Kerrin.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi!, Another lurker stepping into the light. I'm from Spain and i'll be doing an IM Mk.4 armor for the sake of getting experience. But after all the truly amazing things i've seen here, new projects are popping in my head non-stop. So hopefully i'll be around here for a long time.

I hope my project can help someone out there.

Pleasure to meet you.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi Everyone
I just found this site through a link on a Blade Runner forum.

I have a Canadian model Kit company called G-Force and I will be starting my 24th year in business in 2013.

I have been more into the Sideshow and Hot Toys items lately as the model kits hobby has slowed down. I do my own molds and castings and have my own line of model kits that I produce. I have limited time to do a lot of castings with 5 and 2 year old children running around.

I have and can do molds and castings for other companies and I use pressure, vacuum and roto-casting equipment.

I collect Blade Runner models and toys and I think I have about 25 different vehicles and 20 models and figures of Deckard and other characters from the film. There are still a few grail kits I am looking for for my collection. I also collect Boba Fett toys and collectibles.

Looking through this forum I am very impressed with the quality and workmanship that is here. I know I will enjoy my visits you your site and I hope I can be a welcome addition to your family.

Hi all,
My name is Dedi Sarwono from Indonesia..
I started making props from EVA foam on 2007 out of EVA foams and mostly related to tokusatsu stuff (kamen riders and sentai/rangers). it is actuallu started when my son asked me for a kamen rider costume and no one around that can make a full costume for a 6 y.o boy and so i decided to make it myself.. lol.

anyway it is good to be here and please have a look at my FB page if yo'd like to see all that i've done so far:
