Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hey all!

Name is Alex and I posted a thread in the movie props section introducing myself but I didn't know this thread existed, so I apologize in advance.

Anyways, I found the RPF on YouTube when I saw a video of someone's prop replica collection and thought this would be a great hobby for me. I'm interested in Dexter, Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead, and Supernatural props and 1:6 figure replicas for now. I'm also a big fan of comics/fantasy/sci fi.

Been a fan of Dexter since the beginning and am in the process of starting my collection- I am getting a laminate I.D. card, Trinity Killer's Hammer, and a couple more card/paper replicas from the show. I'm saving for the Trophy Slide Box from Michael C Collectibles as well. I'd like some movie replicas, haven't decided which ones to start with.

I am new at this but I would like to make my own things when I can, and I'll be sure to post and share.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

I'm new to the RPF! Currently working on the MKVI build via EVA foam templates. I've done some crazy costumes in my past. The original Joker (89-Nicholson), Transformers Starscream (fully transformable), and plan to now work with Pepakura. I'm looking to eventually cast molds from silicon and plaster and create a few different themed Iron Man suits based off the MKVI pdo's. I would like to get my hands on the Iron Man 3 pdo files if they are available which it sounds like some people on these threads are working on.

Other hobbies include: Car Restoration, and PC building.

Glad to to join all the other pepakura guys on here! :)

Justin (chicago)

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Amazing, I've had membership for about 2 years and totally forgot about it! So cheers to the RPF guys for reminding me with an email!
I am a graphic artist, thou I own a sci-fi /horror / vintage toy / memorabilia shop, so spend most of my time there or traving the UK on the traders convention circuit, I have created some interesting BSG stuff in the past, including some woodwork and frames for BSG related images, I prefer free hand art to computer aided art (I think this is because of age - I trained in graphic's before the computer age kicked off!!!) I spend my spair time creating replica or non cannon art based on sci-fi shows like Battlestar, Star Trek, Star Wars etc I see a lot of very talent people are blogging here, I will in time show you guys some of my creations I have made in the past, first I need to learn how to navigate the site first!
Here goes ! Wish me luck :D Feel Free to email here if you like!

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hey everyone My name is Mat (yes with one "T") and I found this site a few months ago after researching on how to build a life sized R2D2. I am still working on the logistics on how to really come at this thing but I figured this would be the place to come for like minded people. I've always liked building things and playing around with different ideas and after lurking for a bit I can see this is a great place pick up some tips and tricks and maybe share one or two and I am looking froward to getting started.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello all

I have been a tinker of things all my life and put some those skills to use a year ago in putting together a ANH Stormtrooper to troop with the 501st. I have two suits built from kits and a year of trooping under my belt now and am at work on my first clone trooper build. To that end I have been exploring painting techniques for painting the ABS which lead me to some of the build threads here. I can see there are lots of talented people with wonderful contributions on what they have accomplished. A few of the threads have rekindled ideas of attempting an Iron Man build. I'm off to do some more exploring and reading.

Dave

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello all,
I am a gun nut and thought about displaying some of my firearms as replica movie props and discovered this site while trying to identify accessories. I have an Off The Shelf Calico M-900 which is exactly like the ones used in Total Recall (1990) by the Mars Federal Colony Troops. My first real project will be modifying my Muzzelited Mini-14 to re-create the rifle used by the resistance in the Futurewar sequence in T2. Lo and behold there was a thread on here discussing that exact topic. This site is awesome.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hey everyone! Thought I'd go ahead and jump on here long enough to say hello! Been perusing the internet for some like-minded fans of, well, everything lol, and was lead to The RPF site. So far, I really dig everyone's replica works, originals, etc., and to all I say BRILLIANT! Looking forward to add to the list of awesome people! Cheers, and Slainte!

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello everyone,
My name is Ryan, I found out about this site from some folks at rebelscum.com

I'm as noob as it gets when it comes to prop collecting - just ordered my first, a Master Replicas ANH Vader LE Saber. In my couple days here, I've already bought several smaller items, and look forward to buying some more.

Perhaps in the future I'll use some of my engineering knowledge to attempt some replicas of my own.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

I only started going to this site a little while ago. I want to start making props soon and thought it would be a good idea to start an account to ask questions and share progress. Things like that.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi All.
My name is Kim, I'm the guy in charge of the leather work at Adventurebild hat CO. Some of you know me from Club Obi Wan. My interest is not restricted to Indiana Jones and i have made several different props from other movies, including a lot of Bond paper props, in cooperation with two friends. We have a preliminary site called thedangermen.com. Our bond props are not displayed at the moment, for legal reasons :rolleyes
I'll post images at a later date :)

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello world!
I recently found the forun looking for cool halloween props and I must say I am very impressed with the work that some of you have done. I recently started working on a war machine helmet for one of my kids. So far I have used two different pepakura files as shown in the attached picture and I managed to screw up the first one.:facepalm

I do have a question, the last file I used was taken from here: http://www.therpf.com/f24/war-machine-high-def-pepakura-team-up-113492/
and I ran into a problem with the mohawk. it is laying below the faceplate and I am not sure how to fix it. Another issue that I found with this file was the eye piece. It is driving me crazy! :wacko Lookig at some post that have used the same file I see that they may be having the same issue. Has anyone figured it out?

Anyway, it is good to be here and I hope that I will have something positive to contribute at some point.

Cheers
