Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi everyone, I'm a transplant Midwesterner living in NYC. I love video games, sci fi, fantasy, and art. I went to fashion school and am employed as a surface designer at a big lingerie company (probably the first one that comes to your mind!).

I've done a lot of costumes over the years, usually for Halloween - I've never attended a con or anything, but I'd love to start!

Overall, looking to share and learn. :)

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello,
I'm glad to be apart of this website as I have browsed the pages as a guest for quite some time, I first came across RPF when I was searching for Mass Effect Props and quickly came across all of the amazing creations people have made. I hope my time here will be good and I'm sure that I'll learn lots of great tricks and techniques to better my work.

-Ryan :)

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Ok so I finally joined the page :)

I am a Costume/Fashion Designer and a Seamstress.

Halloween is a major holiday for us in our family. We are planning on going back to conventions soon. We used to go until we had our princess. Then we dressed her up as video game characters and from kids shows. We now started making family costumes. And we are working towards our costumes for MegaCon. =)

I have been making Look a Like Flynn Rider Vests that have sold very well last year, and this year even better. We like to use really durable materials when building costumes, so they are made to last.

I had found this site before and then lost it! But my Sister refound the page when we were looking for Costume Contests to enter! And I am so excited she came across this site!!

I signed up right away. I don't want to loose this site again. Am bookmarking it on my Status Bar!

It is wonderful reading and seeing others works. Looking forward to sharing mine :love

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Just stopping by here to say hi. Love the site. Came here for the costume contest and to have somewhere to post a build thread.

This is my second year doing a fairly cosplayish costume for halloween and it won't be my last I'm sure.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello, I found my way here from TLOH and am currently working on a Deadpool, or whatever I can scrap together on the side. I was in the 501st but had to sell armor for medical reasons. I am a disabled vet and I am currently freelancing for a R&R Lifestyle magazine. Since I can't make "perfect" armor, I feel costuming offers me more freedom than where I was. Don't get me wrong, I loved to "armor up" and go to childrens hospitals and give those sick kids a moment of pure fantasy when "Star Wars" walked into the room. Hope to make some friends and make some suits. Peace.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Big hello!!
I have just began to experiment with pep. I have always enjoyed creating accessories to go along with my kids costumes for Halloween, but as a big kid I still enjoy dressing up as well. I found this forum while looking for different pep files. So far I have found and obscene wealth of info on here. As soon as I can I will post some pics up of projects. Costumes are an obsession of mine.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Ha!, I find myself in the same boat as like, 80% of the newbies, all lurking for a bit. then finally taking the plunge!(my wallet and wife will soon hate me)
I've been a member of the Dented Helmet for about 2 years now, building on my bobafett costume. I hail from Montreal Canada, and I love spray painting, and painting in general. I can't really build anything hardcore due to living in an apartment, but i make due with what i have, and a lot of the time, i just make my props outa garbage, and dollar store material, then the paint job makes everything look pro afterwards.
I've helped making two ghostrbuster packs this way, though my own is professionally built :)
I'm also a member on GBfan.com!
I guess after beating around the bush, it only makes sense that i'd find my way here after 3 years of prop building and painting :)
My Wife is also an employee working for cirque du solei and random movies and jazz(like the gloves in the new spiderman movie, just the gloves) So I try to get her help with the material parts to the costumes whenever i can ;)

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi there, just discovered this forum
I'm amazed at the level of talent out there, I've been trying my hand at a small project while trying to follow some tutorials and such,
Not sure how much I'll be able to invest in this for the near future but it is still very fascinating none the less

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi, I discover this forum one week ago but I only join now.
I'm from France and I hope I can built my first costume
Ps : Sorry for my english :'(

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi folks. I've been hanging around the Hunters Lair for years and thought I'd finally step on over here too. :) I've been a sci-fi fan since I first saw Star Wars (twice) in the theater in 1977. Today I do fan films as a hobby, mostly crossovers involving Star Wars, Aliens and Predator.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi all. Long time listener, first time caller here. I have grown up in the automotive world, and had a chance encounter with some stunning movie cars saved from back lot death by someone I know. Since then, I have always been into creating things for film. Most of what I have done is film car replicas, though I've worked in a couple projects that did see screen time, even if my actual work was far removed from the finished product. I'm here just soaking all the information in now.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hiya! Been roaming the world wide web for a long time in search of a troupe with reasonably easy means of creating a few costumes, but this place seems to have everything I could have asked for! The talent in this here forum is outstanding! I'm hoping to use the guides and tutorials here to add some handiwork of my own! See you 'round the internets!

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

I've been lurking here for a few months after finding out about this site through friends of mine who are active here. I've been costuming for 10 years, and while I'm confident in my sewing ability, I'm definitely not as confident when it comes to prop making. I'm really hoping to level up this coming year and try some stuff I've never done before.

I attached a picture of my husband's and my Halloween costumes for this year. Mad Max/Road Warrior meets Mario Kart. I used wonderflex for the first time, tried out XRobot's tutorial on plastic coating foam for the shells, and even cast in resin for the first time. I have to say, I'm definitely addicted and planning my next costumes for the coming year. I look forward to hanging out here more!

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi new folks!
I'm a 15 years old made-in the DIY world dude. I especially love steam/dieselpunk and post-apo styles, so I don't replicate so much costumes or props (generally I design my owns).
Just for info, I'm a french native-speaker, so I apologize if you do not understand. If it's the case, quoted me and it will be a pleasure to clarify my message for you.

In the movies...
I love LOTR of course cause I'm a Tolkien's fan, Forest Gump, The nightmare before Christmas and Big Fish (love Tim Burton) and... My fav', Cowboy Bebop.
This anime is just... So EPIC and deep, really deep, unlike almost every animes that I know. May Samurai Champloo is the only one to reach the same quality at my eyes... By the same director xD

Here is my last costume, designed for the Costume contest here, one of my reasons to subscribe (great pub BTW).
It's Post-Apo scientist costume... Well, I look much more like a Fallout surviver, but every survivors look approximatively the same, right? xD

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello! I have been lurking around here for a year or so and would like to become more involved. Every year I strive to make my Halloween costume better and better. This year i was Jack Skellington. Next year i would like to be a gargoyle, with fully articulating wings, digitigrade stilts, and silicone arms, legs, torso and face. Hopefully I can find all the resources i need here!

Hi, all. I've been a visitor for a long time.

My name is David, I'm a filmmaker in Miami. I also do a little sculpting and painting and I've done a bit of tinkering with molding and casting in resin.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **
