Hi all

My name is Dan and I run a small shop from my house. when I saw the Iron Man armor for the first time and the work that goes into it I was amazed. For my first project I'm making a IM sute for my 5 year old son. All the foam pcs. are cut on my flat bed CNC. As I'm new to this I would love to here some feedback.

Hey all, my name is Eric but some of you may recognize my screen name Tsabo Tsaboc. Two things I really enjoy doing are propmaking and photography. With propmaking I can bring the screen to reality, and with photography I bring reality to the screen. I primarily work on Skyrim and Halo stuff, but I've done some Star Wars as well. I also really enjoy working with carbon fiber.

It seems like its been nearly a year since registering (a a bit longer, lurking), I should get around to posting...

Over the past few years I've gotten more into costume prop making. My latest project is a new Dredd costume and I'm working on a second proton pack (fiberglass shell). I probably enjoy hunting/compiling my projects more than I like completing them.

Hey all, my name is Don, and I'm here to try and bring my modelling/costuming efforts to the next level after thrift store hacks and artfully-weathered Nerf guns.

My current long-term project is a Mass Effect Quarian costume for one of the larger cons in the near future (The fact that I'm still pretty new at this, and literally half a world away from any con of any size, means any solid plans are pretty much impossible)

Besides costuming, I'm a paintballer (I generally make a few international trips a year to play, I've hit the USA and the UK so far this year, hoping for Australia and Russia in the next year or so), an offroader (my Jeep is my one true love :love) and car nut in general, and, of course, a massive, unrepentant geek.

It's amazing, and humbling, to see what some of the people on here can do with Bondo, HDPE and MDF. If I can start building stuff half as good as that, I'll be very happy with myself.

Hi all! my name is Gregor.

as i am only 16, i probably will be getting a lot of crap from people, saying i am inexperienced and probably childish and do not have the patient for this kind of work. i have been working on both building sets for theater, and designing them for my schools now for 3 years, and do have a lot of experience with those. even though i am new to the prop, costume building, and even design of them, i am confident that i can do a good job with the help and support of all of you!

i have been wanting to start a project for about 2 years now, and my first one? it will be a Halo ODST from Halo 3 ODST. id like to build a sniper rifle with that as well, and am quite excited for the whole build itself! its going to be an exciting thing to try, and may even expand my technical theater career farther. if you wanna help or give me some minor tips, i have a forum posted in costumes over it. my next project will probably be either and Iron man suit, or maybe a SPARTAN from halo.

Hi, my name is Will but I tend to go by the name "Ikkalebob", invented by my cat when she ran across the keyboard.
I'm fairly new to this kind of thing, my first attempt at replicas was the volpin portal gun which suffered fatal damage and I was unable to complete it. At the moment I am working on a Dragon Priest mask from Skyrim, here is a WIP image:

Hi, my name is Aaron and I am a college student studying Industrial Design, though I spent nearly two years as a mechanical engineering major before transferring. I have lurked here many-a-time over the past few years for inspiration, ideas, and tons of great research and reference material. I am a born inventor and love to problem solve and work with numbers, as well as draw, sculpt, and craft just about anything I have the motivation to create.


I am a HUGE Star Wars buff and regularly search this site to ooh and aww at the amazing Star Wars projects by members here, as well as collect references and measurements for my own attempted replicas.

Right now I am working on a ROTJ Luke Hero Saber carved from high density modeling foam as well as modifying a few plastic toy sabers with sheet metal and pvc to make them look more realistic.

I'm going to attempt to attach a few pictures of some things I have made in the past.... riigghht heeerree:

I have a Harry Potter wand with handmade, screen-accurate replica box; a han solo sculpted from clay and wood to match the Funko POP Star Wars bobbleheads; a District 9 Street Sign; a leather suede superhero mask; and an iron man arc reactor made from a mint tin, pringles lid, LEDs, cardboard, and a 9V.

Great to meet you all! I think I'll find a nice home here...

I'm completely new to the concept of cosplay and building costumes. I'm willing to start dabbling in it. I am a model builder and painter of not great skill but enjoy doing so.

Somethings I'm willing to try is Iron man (of course) and Thor costume.
