Hello everyone,
joined about a week ago, glad to find you guys,looks like an active and fun community.
Being a stay at home dad with an 18mos young baby girl gives me some time (not as much as one might think) to try my hands at this hobby.
Being a Star Wars fan I always wanted to get my hands on a Stormtrooper costume,now with the help I can get from here I will try to make my own.After looking around however I decided to start with another project, namely an Iron Patriot armor.I will post my progress and of course lots of questions and begs for advice.

BTW I am Hungarian living in Florida, name is Thomas,36 oooold...

Greetings! I'm a transplant from the BYOAC forums looking for help and advice on a current build. I build my own arcade machines and am in the process of tackling a 74-Z speeder build. Basic idea is that one uses the speeder as a large arcade control. Check out my builds listed in my sig. Thanks!

i've had my eye on this place for a while so i decided to make an account on here to look for advice and help on prop making. i am currently working on my first build atm for NYCC this year as i took it up as a hobby after being inspired by other prop and replica builders. i like to track and keep up on what other builders are making. i might post my progress on projects, i don't know, as again, i made this to look for help and advice, but who knows.

Hi,
I have always made replicas of things that I liked from movies, but I am new to really attempting to make them higher quality. This seemed like a great place to get advice and share info on this. Here is an example of a piece that I recently finished. It is a crysknife from Dune that is accurate to the book description. It is fiberglass resin with a metal pommel. It even glows slightly like in the book. Thanks for the future help!

Greetings and salutations
Newbie to prop making, not so new to design, I've always wanted to have that epic display case of all the wonderful props and ideas from sci-fi/fantasy, but until recently I've never had the space to either do the work to construct these or to display the masterpieces.

All that has changed and I find myself with a nice empty basement home theater room ready to fill with goodies! I've already got an idea of my first show piece: Big Baby from Hellboy 2.

I've lurked on here for quite some time but never actually got around to making an account until now =D. I'm a cosplayer, predominately Power Rangers, but I'm wanting to branch out into maybe Star Wars, and do other stuff too. I joined because I felt like I could definitely use the wealth of knowledge on here, and put it all to good use =D. I'm also an avid scuba diver aswell. =D.

Hi! I'm Ellis (or whatever you want to call me), I found the RPF through my friend who is part of this lovely community. I'll admit I don't quite know hw things work yet, but I look forward to exploring this new and wonderful place I've joined.

I like crafting and making things in general, but my absolute favourite thing to make is YuGiOh Millennium Rings~ I make them whenever I feel stressed, as an outlet, and people seem to really like how they turn out~ :rolleyes

I'm a cosplayer, I enjoy cosplaying from a number of animes. Most recently I've finished a Soul Eater Evans cosplay (Soul Room version) and styled the wig for that. I'm not sure if wig styling falls into any of the categories here, though :unsure

Hello everyone.

I've been having fun with costumes for awhile now, and I'm amazed at the work some of you do on here. I'm nowhere near the level of skill of some of you, but my background in art and design does come in handy.

Each year I try to pick out a new kit to work on. Two years ago was Obi-Wan Kenobi, last year Jack Sparrow. This year I'm thinking Gandalf.

registered a year ago but never got around to introducing or actually posting. ('long time lurker, first time poster' or something like that..)

so: hi! i'm a student, currently studying webdesign, most people call me scarlet or zeddie and i make stuff.

(or at least others tell me i do, because i'm way too introverted and self-conscious about my stuff and never, ever happy with any end-result. but - i'll try to get over myself and may post a few things later on.)

new to this website spent about 4 hrs yeaterdy reading threds and was amazed how nice and helpful every one is
Bit about my self origanlly from england met my wife playing halo 3 about 5 years ago, moved to america to be with her been married to years now.

Ive been into movies about 15 years now, only started buying screen used props in the last 2 years, I have a nice collection of that i will be getting up soon.
I go to alot of movie conventions and get replica props signed

I'm Greg. in 2005 I got my degree in Commercial Photography from a small school in Nashville, Tn. that no one has ever heard of. I have been a huge movie geek my entire life. I love art in all mediums, and want to learn as much as I possibly can about how to craft and create it.

Lately, I have been wanting to do a portrait and fan art photo project based in cosplay and "all things geek". Researching for it, I really wasn't finding much that fit the level of work I want to do, then I remembered this forum from Adam Savages TED talk came and spent hours browsing through your magnificent work.
