Well, I've been lurking around for a few months and after seeing how awesome you guys are and being motivated by the secret santa I've decided to jump right in. Hopefully I will be able to provide one of you something great for next years SS. I will try my best to hone any of my skills and if all else fails I'll drop it off on my wonderfully artistic and talented wife. I doubt she'll ever read this, lol. I looking forward to a great and learning filled 2012!

Hello all, I am somewhat new to the forum. My boyfriend (DrewSmith007) got me to join a few months back and well I kinda kept forgetting about the forum. He is on daily and I kept saying "man I should really get on there and look around" Hopefully I can do a better job of exploring and seeing all the awesome props everyone makes! I just got a sewing machine for Christmas so I may venture onto the costume section and see if I can contribute to anything. Anywho, I'm off to explore!! Laterz!!

Just found the site today while looking for info on the spear from Dragonslayer and I'm really happy about the variety and helpfulness of all posting.
I used to make ST props of various sorts and run a Klingon party room at conventions around Ohio. Now I content myself with steampunk things and some custom masks for my own amusement.

I stumbled upon this gem of a site a few days ago and registered immediately. I can't believe how many talented individuals are out there creating amazing pieces. My handle's 'dabriko' and I'm a bit of a Fallout junkie. After a lot of talk over the years of making a costume, I finally started one this fall. Little by little my NCR Ranger helmet is coming together. It was the search for the Pipboy 3000 that led me to the site.
Hope to learn from all of the experience on the board.

Happy New Year! Joined this place seeing some awesome discussion on Uncharted props. Though I'm female, I'd really like to get together a Nathan Drake costume in time for Halloween, and I think ten months might be just enough time to get it together.

Hi everyone, I found out about therpf through Adam Savage when he did a TED talk about his Dodo skeleton and *Maltese falcon sculpt.
I'm absolutely amazed at all the extremely talented people here, in the few days I've been reading I've seen Artoo, Lightsaber, Terminator and Arc of the*covenant scratch builds! I'm really impressed.

i`m new to the site , and am mainly into collecting original and replica horror /sci-fi stuff i also go to most of the local conventions ,(collectormania ,memorabilia ,weekend of horrors if anyone interested.)
Been collecting for twenty years but only seriously the last ten and have approx 200 - 300 props ,posters !!

I found the site due to stumbling upon a request about THE ADVENTURES OF BUCKAROO BANZAI which I felt duty-bound to try and help out with. TABB has been something of an obsession of mine since before the film actually came out and I've ran a Banzai site and mailing list for...gosh...sixteen years or thereabouts.
Anyways, I've since spent a fair portion of the holiday weekend browsing the board and being blown-away by the talent on display, both by the builders and the detectives, so I thought I'd at least say "Hi" and "Good job!" to everyone.
I don't have the talent or the money to get involved much beyond being in awe of what I find here so I hope you don't mind me lurking about.

I found the site after seeing people's home-built iron man armor on youtube.
It was exciting and I have now made my first pepakura/bondo helmet. I learned a lot and find all the things people are doing to recreate movie props fascinating.
I don't know if I have the bug, but I'm going to be lurking and trying to learn more.

Hello all! I've been collecting comics, action figures, movie props, and other odd things for some years now. I started working on custom action figures as a kid by taking apart my GI Joes. I picked up the hobby again about a year ago, working on mainly DC action figures. Soon thereafter I got the bug for a full scale costume. I put together a Dark Knight style Joker costume for Halloween last year, and then immediately began working on a Batman costume. I'm currently using a slightly modified Collectors Edition Batman suit for kids parties etc. I'm slowly changing it up to give it more of an Arkham City look. I also have plans for a movie inspired Thor outfit. Thanks for all of the great posts to help out us newbs! See y'all soon.

Hello everyone! I just joined and I'm thrilled to finally be on here. This will be my first year attending Comic-Con so I'm in the right place to get ideas on my costume. I have only made one costume from scratch but would like to perfect my abilities in that department in all aspects.
I've always been a HUGE fan of Fantasy/Sci-Fi my entire life, thanks to my parents. My boss just recently introduced me to The Belgariad novels by D. Eddings. What a fabulous story.
I guess you could say I'm definitely a kid from the 80's. My favorite movie of all time is a tie between Legend (yes with Tom Cruise and Tim Curry) and Labyrinth (I hate to admit but I did have a crush on Jereth!!)
I recently left my career in the Social Work field to be home with my children. Best decision I've ever made.

My name is Jonas, and I live in Sweden. I am 37 years old, married and we have a daughter that is 16 months old. I am a paramedic since 2006. I have been a member of the 501st Legion since 2003 and I currently have 4 star wars costumes: a Royal guard, stomtrooper, biker scout and Darth Vader, I am working on a imperial officer's uniform.
My other hobbies are music. I play the drums, keyboards and the guitar. You may have heard the song "Stomtrooper, yes I am" which I did together with a fellow member of the Nordic Garrison. I did the music - he did the singing. We are currently working on a full length album with star wars themed covers.
My favorite movies are Star Wars, Alien, Terminator, Bladerunner plus a lot of other great movies. I also have a uniform from the classic TV-series "V", with a screen accurate blaster and rifle.
