Hi everyone!

My name is Ryan and I'm new(ish) to the world of prop-making. I'm 24 and currently studying theatre technology in Orlando. I really discovered the world about three years ago, seeing some of the stuff Volpin had created. I instantly developed a passion for following his builds and he has been my inspiration to build props.

Outside of the stage props I have made (which are supposed to be super cheap and only an approximation), the first prop I'm building is a Daft Punk helmet, complete with all the electronics. I'm following along with Volpin's method and getting a feel for everything, but I feel like I really dove in the deep end to start.

I'll post some threads documenting my build soon, but for now I just wanted to say hi.

Hi , I'm angelles and I came looking to make HP props and things... I'm from Wisconsin, and am a nurse assistant...if any one knows good threads to go to let me know but I would lve meeting new people with the same interests...hard to come by where I live I also collect living dead dolls .

Hi everyone !!
My name is Sylvian, I live in France. I'm a Batman Fan since I was a child and I've always wanted to create my own suit. The first one I'm making is a Batman Returns suit. I gather information through some famous forums and the internet and I've began to buy some parts for it (gloves, speargun, batarangs). Next year, I'll bought my first real Returns cowl and the suit of armor. Actually, I've only got 4 Rubies cowls and I've improved them while waiting for a nice one.
I've been waiting and dreaming for 22 years before making this dream come true since the 1989 Batman movie...
Now, I'm on it and I've managed 2 other projects when the fist one will be done : a 1989 version and an Arkham Asylum/City version for in the course of 2012...

Hi All,

I'm Dave, a struggling, penniless Film Maker from Sheffield (UK) looking for props, costumes and miniatures for a unique and unusual, no budget horror movie (90 minute feature film), that we're shooting in the spring/summer of 2012.

At some point in the near future I shall post a list of everything we need, and a synopsis of the script, production details, etc. with the hope that some of you kind souls might be able to help us out.

But for now, I'm just saying hello.

Greetings!
My name is Bendzhamin and i am happy to admit i am a Sci Fi Fan. I am currently/hurriedly doing production on a Blade Runner Tribute Fan Film in 1/6 scale filmed in classic film noir style... trying like the dickens to make it look like the original film. Lots of talent around here, very inspiring. I am also on Propsummit.com as Bendzhamin1967. When i get to building more set pieces i will gladly share images of them with the group!!!:cool

Not much to say about introducing me...
I came here through links and stuch through the Aliens Legacy board and thought "what the heck, I've been building my own props for awhile I may as well come on here and learn from the best."
I'm a huge Dr.Who, ALIEN, and StarShip Troopers fan
I currently have a Russian OGRON (Russian U.N.I.T.) costume almost done, along with a Colonial Marines uniform.
I look forward to meeting some awesome people, stay frosty my friends!

Hey everyone, glad to join. A little about myself, I'm a very big fan of movie props, and actually own quite a few replica horror movie props. I don't know much about building myself, but I'm ready to try. I am looking to build my first real prop: a proton pack. It seems like a warm community here and I cannot wait to get started! Hi Everyone, Ive been lurking around here for quite a while and only just summoned the courage to start posting ( the quality of the work being produced is kinda intimidating )

A wee bit about myself, I started building replica props back in 2008 when I built my Proton Pack from various bits and bobs purchased online and found locally.
After that I had pretty much caught the bug and Ive been building smaller props and models ever since.
Earlier on this year I finally managed to put a set of TK armor together and join the 501st which has been an experience to say the least .

I recently started a modelmaking and design for film and TV course at the City of Glasgow college hoping to learn the skills that I need to make a career out of this obsession of mine so hopefully with time my work will improve and I'll have some pieces to show off here.

This seems like a great community to be a part of, its fantastic to have such a wealth of knowledge about so many processes and subjects in one place.

Looking forward to reading and learning as much as I can here, although I think I may have to buy a waterproof keyboard to combat the constant drooling and maybe a loan or ten to pay for all the goodies in the junkyard

Hello all,

Another Australian here, I see there are a few. Signed up a few months ago, been reading a lot and mostly about lightsaber builds. Started with a MR Obi ROTS FFX, but am more impressed with the accuracy of fan built sabers. So I acquired a Rylo ROTJ recently and am very impressed with the build.

Looking to expand my saber collection slowly, I will be targetting the ANH and ESB graflexes next.

I originally came here looking for the Basilisk page from Harry Potter (Which I found), although my main focus has been on the COW forums. I'm most interested in Indiana Jones, Harry Potter, and Lord of the Rings props.

Just realized I never introduced myself on here -

So here we go - My real names Joe, I have been making costumes, masks, effects, etc. for as long as I can remember in one for or another. I own my own Haunted Attraction company that puts on a large event each Halloween season.

Old member returning was on here ages ago but just decided to start looking at props since it's coming on summer I want a few projects to start working on. Been a 501st member for nearly 10yrs and have TIE Pilot costume, also have a half finished Jason Voorhees Costume got a mask from frightngiht just need to paint it properly.

New to the site as the thread implies, I live in Rhode Island and have sort of always been a fan of all things collectable. Just recently get back into collecting Ninja Turtles again. I am a die hard TMNT fan and have been since about 4 years old. Lost the collecting aspect during college when cash was tight, but have recently found the passion to continue. I hope to see tons of amazing costumes and props on this site as I have already seen a few ust by surfing around. So, Anything TMNT, I'm your guy~
