re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello everyone! :D

I'm very happy to be here! This site looks really useful, and so far it's been enjoyable to browse. I've been making costumes since age 12, and am new to making actual props. I hope I can learn from the masters of this site, from what I've seen the people here really know their stuff! I haven't made anything really impressive, just really basic things.

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hey RPF, I'm Togalai
I discovered prop making through punishedpixels.com and have been trying out my own prop. I've mainly been interested in video game props though I will be willing to try out anything. I'm still quite a noob at all this but thanks to google and this forum I'm learning as much as I can. :)
Hope to be posting some of my work soon!

Hi,
My name is Rebakah, I am new to this forum. I am finding tons of interesting info on here so far and am really enjoying the pics of everyones collections. I just started collecting Gremlins Gizmo. I will be getting my first Ronculus Gizmo soon, im very excited! I have a Sideshow Lotr Nazgul Steed bust which I bought mainly because I like horses and scary looking stuff so its kind of a mix of the two. I am an airbrush artist, working mostly on models and murals , I plan to venture in to airbrushing busts and statues . I have also recently started sculpting and have been enjoying it very much. I look forward to learning new tips and techniques as well as making new friends.
Thanks for letting me share :)

Hey peoples,

I'm from Australia and into weapon prop replica's from films, TV shows, video games, and comics.

Years ago I had a kick-ass weapon replica collection and then life threw me a curve ball and I was forced to sell them all. That sucked.

My mission is now to find and re-acquire one of everything I sold back then as well as get other cool weapon prop's as time rolls on.

My bank account wants to protest but I'll keep trying to show it some love just the same :lol

Anyway, this forum rocks so it's great to be here.

Hi im simon waters. Im new here. i am huge fan of props. Mostly trek props though. i have a small but growing collection. I am a peruser of knowledge and have heard lots of prop stories from folks like Dragon and Rick Sternbach. But also some information from folks who wish to not be named.(wink) I have been a visitor to costuming sites as well and know alot about trek costumes. I love learning new things and have had a great time learning things i never knew. (Like recently i was over on trek prop authority and hey have a season three phaser next to a season five or seven tng. And both cobra's are diffrent size and slightly diffrent shapes. I knew about shape but i had no idea that the thicknes and width were diffrent too.) Im on disability for a bladder diseas and i do not have much money but i add to my collection as offten as i can. i will post pics as soon as i learn how and where to post them.

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hey, everyone! Been here for a few weeks and I just finally went to this intro thread! Name's berserk wolf (for those of you who are members of The Hunters' Lair Predator prop/costume forum, yes the same dude), college student, freshman. I've been costuming for about two years (mainly as a Predator). Believe or not, the very first costume I made for myself was a really bad Batman suit for a video book report project in my Junior year of high school (Interested to see it? PM me and I'll send you the youtube link lol). Hoping to meet new people here as well as learn how to make more props!

First time really getting into the costume scene, looking forward to surfing this forum =)

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi people! Name: Mikael. Currently living somewhere in Sweden. This is an awesome site!

Been following this site for a while. Then joined, so I can in the future share my own projects. I got inspired to start making replicas thanks to guys like volpin and others. Big up to all people doing this and posting it on the web!

Currently working on a iron man helmet(I know.. :rolleyes ), Halo energy sword.

I just finished a lotr map with frame. Before started getting into this stuff I did ALOT of pepakura. But the smaller stuff.

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello!

Found this site a little while ago. Looks like a great place to discuss props.
I am interested in movie props, specifically sci-fi, but have never really made any of my own (unless you count my Kaylee Frye umbrella). My interest in props came from my interest in costumes, which developed out of my love for sci-fi.
I'm very excited to be able to chat here about props and perhaps learn from some of the experienced people here.

hello, good to meet you all. i'm from Birmingham England. I've been lurking around this site for about a year, but have now finally registered. this is the first forum I have ever joined so this place is special to me. it was because of this website that i made a rocketeer helmet and have just finished a robocop helmet and a Batman belt buckle.

seeing all the amazing things that people can create in there own homes has got me hooked. im staggered by how talented you all are.

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello!
My Name is Jamie. I am a multi-media artist and musician. I am self employed manufacturing magic illusions with my partner in Brookings Oregon. I found this site while researching costumes and armor on the net.

I am also a member at the 405th: no1laserjock

My plans are to develop my skills building various armors and props. I found the section here on Rayguns! Wow what awesome work! All these things pique my interests in the art and skill of this field. So I hope to have a long Journey here (and the 405th) and maybe learn enough to give back some knowledge too!

To date I built an armored costume from fiberglass for Halloween. My first attempt at fiberglass, did everything wrong and it still turned out OK. Now I am learning the art of Pepakura from developing my own unfolds from 3DSmax, to "pepping up" MKVI Halo Armor.
I have not played Halo but I wanted to experience building a suit from following a forum, and the HALO armor is very well supported. So I hope to learn how to build from 3D models, to Pepakura, hardening and final painting all of the skills so that I can create my own designs. These forums are an incredible place to do that! THANK YOU ALL!

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Dropped in to say 'hello'. New to the forum and to prop making. Started with a '78 Cylon helmet, that is at the bondo stage. I didn't appreciate the communities reference to SANDING until I used bondo for the first time. Hunting for the elusive smooth curve, and looking forward to participating in this group.
