re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello all.

This is overdue, however I would like to introduce myself.

I was introduced to this forum by my friend jnko and I am happy I listened.

I am a Star Wars fan at heart but a movie fan as a whole.

Thank you for having me as I am glad to venture into a new world of exciting pieces.

I am new here. Hello

Greetings to you All, :)
I am Kevin from Omaha Ne, and while out playing on the web. I found this place:love and after about an hour or 12 , LOL i wanted to join the list.
This seems to be a very cool site and i am going be lost here for weeks.
I am a model builder . Costumer. and Action Figure collector .
I am a member of the KLINGON assault group , My Ship is the IKV Raptors heart, I also played in the SCA for many years with a very very cool Mongol house, Dark Horde. As well as did a little non SCA Vikings living history.
so playing W/Props is not a new thing for me. Buliding some of the types of stuff is . and i hope to make a few new Friends and learn a bit .
thanks ALL

Kevin. (y)thumbsup(y)thumbsup:thumbsup

Hi my name is Randy McCoy and I am not here to show you all my props. I am here with a proposal for all the real hardcore fallout fans. I am looking to make a fan film. If you have seen wayside productions fan flim fallout Nuka Break then you know what I'm talking about, but if you have not then go to YouTube or google right now and type in fallout Nuka break. But any way let's get back to my fan film. I am calling out to everyone we here at Creekside Productions need props and donations. If you would like to help out send me a email at randymccoy1@yahoo.com with pictures of what you got or if you are looking to male a donation. I will be back tomorrow with hopely some results and I will try to post some pictures of the location.

Ps: If you want info on the fan film email me.

Pps: Please Help!:cry

Hi my name is Emma
I found this website searching for unique costumes people built and always ended up back here. I love halloween because I love putting together cool costumes, though ive never built anything such as pep before, it looks like it may just be my new hobby and it will no longer be "just a halloween thing." Im looking through posts on here literally hours a day. I think what everyone does on here is great, and helping each other out. Ive got great ideas from what some of you have shared and I too will share what Ive learned, hopefully to help someone out in my experiences.

Hello,

My name is Joseph Kerr and I'd like to get into the hobby of Prop and Costume creation.

I'm very interested in adding lights and speakers to things..

One of the very first projects I'd like to tackle would be a recreation of the Pumpkin Bombs from the Spiderman movies. Loved'em.

But before I do any of that, I need to learn some basic electronic skills. I figure getting this Electronics Tool kit and this Electronics learning Lab so I can practice and learn some stuff along the way would be a good first step in that direction. Any opinions on these two investments? Any comments would be appreciated, thanks!

Also, with Christmas coming up, I figure I might try my hand at a few small projects for friends and family. I've never watched the show, but a good many of my friends are fans of the Doctor Who TV Series. I imagine a few of them would enjoy owning a Sonic Screwdriver...whatever that is :p

Thanks and I look forward to spending some time on these forums!

Hey!
My name is Clair and I'm starting to get into building props. The art for me is nothing new, just an interesting reconfiguration of skills and crafts that I already know. I'm an artist, a sculptor, I have experience with remodeling and restoration, costume making, and a little bit of stage and film work.
It's just a blast to be doing it for myself. My first prop build was a portal gun that I made for Halloween. It was during that build that I came across RPF. You guys rock!
Anyhow, while in the finishing stages of my gun, I decided I'd like to move on to building a pipboy 3000.
I'm currently in the planning stages, I want to start with a sculpt and then cast in resin, and I have an android phone with a failed cell receiver (still gets wifi) that I'm planning on using for the screen and some of the guts.
I'm sure I'll be looking for help soon

I was too shy to introduce myself when I joined, but I might as well say hello since I've been lurking. :)

I've always been a huge science fiction / video game / comic book fan and I just about flipped the frack out when I found out that you guys exist ("you guys" meaning, people who actually create and appreciate amazing costumes / props). I grew up in Ohio and didn't have many kindred spirits, but since working in and moving to bigger cities, I've since discovered more like-minded people and am overwhelmingly thankful.

So, that's about it I guess. Looking forward to adding to my collection, diving further into cosplay, and meeting cool people!

Hi Guys. Matt here from the UK. Came accross the site as i was trying to find references and hints to making a lawgiver mkII. Eventually my aim is to build a life size ABC warrior from the dredd movie. Already downloaded pepakura and in my first day put together a dredd helmet.

At first it flew together in 3 hours and i have it paper'd up and ready, i am planning on addidng some paper mashe to it and then bonding it. Only problem is..... its too small for my head. Im going to finish what i started to get to grips and use it as a tester.

If any one can send me in the right direction of how to upscale the files please do so, Ps i have only downloaded pepakura viewer, not designer.

Spent £000's on my car in the past putting all sorts of different bodykits, lighting effects, decals and making them as unique as possible so looking to do something a little different.

Still getting to grips with the site too.

Cheers guys

Matt

Hello fellow prop makers & collectors! I'm a huge Back to the Future fan & theme park enthusiast, & ever since they shut the ride down at Universal, well long story short, something about that started my obsession with wanting to make & collect props from the Back to the Future trilogy, as well as all of my other favorite movies, especially props I havent seen anyone else attempt before, & is a hobby that I soon realized I could also turn into a decent living. So here's a small list of movies that I'm working on props from-

Superman
Back to the Future
Jurassic Park
Saw
The Matrix
Child's Play

Lots of great info here & look forward to making new friends, & to continue my quest to "Live the Movies!"

Hi,
My name is Ron, and I've been checking this forum out for a while now. Finally got around to registering. I've started out working on Indiana Jones gear (finally happy with what I got) and have moved onto getting together a Hellboy costume and Malcolm Reynolds get up. This seems like the place to be on all sorts of replica info, so I kinda wish I came here earlier.

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello everyone, I'm new to this whole process. I got interested in the RPF while working on my 2011 Halloween costume and just decided to join. I can't wait to see what comes of it.

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

I'm going a little backwards about this. I already posted some stuff in the Cowboys & Aliens gauntlet thread. oh well...I wanted to say this an awesome site! I work in TV & film and spent a short time in a prop shop in L.A.. I find myself getting more & more interested in making stuff and this site has some very talented folks. Thanks for sparking my interest again!

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello,

I'm new-ish to the whole prop-making scene. A friend of mine got me into it a few months ago, and admittedly, it got me hooked. He showed me this forum and after reading through it a bit, I figured a place where I could ask virtually any question and get a good answer (as well as show off some of the work I've done) was perfect, so here I am. :D So far the two projects I'm working on are the T-45D from Fallout, and Samus' Varia Suit from Metroid. Hopefully I'll get my camera working and I can take some pictures.

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Been seeing some really cool Iron Man and War Machine costumes and was just really curious about the build process.

I finally decided on signing up after seeing all the cool costumes people were entering on the RPF contest. and voted for my favorites.

There's some awesome creativity here!
