re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

I've been scanning the site for a little over a month, getting ideas and tips for a build I did for my Halloween costume, but this is my first post. I love what I was able to do when I was rushing and had a deadline, so I'm looking forward to what I can do on a more relaxed schedule where I can take my time with everything.

Hello,

I am Romano and I live in California. I am hitting a lull with my R2D2 build and started thinking about something new. (I also built a stormtrooper suit a few years back.) I am giving myself a year to have either a Batman or Robocop suit to wear next halloween.

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello everyone, I’ve been lurking over the form for a while learning and in some places relearning how to make props and costumes. I figured it was about time I joined in on the form. I’m not new to making props but I’ve never really done anything big budget, just as a hobby or for a friend. I’ve been labeled as a guy that can make just about anything by other, I’m not sure that’s true but I do try to make anything asked of me within reason.
I think my first prop I made was way back in the 5th grade for a school video. Since I didn’t like being in front of the camera I was given the option to make the props for the class video. I end up making around 6 Roman style helmets out paper-mache and spray paint (you know back when they let kids play with just about anything).

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hey everyone,

Been registered for a while now and decided to start sharing my projects with the world. Found out about this place from some friends and I am really impressed by the quality of work on display. I've just recently graduated after studying propmaking for theatre for 3 years, before that I studied and worked as a modelmaker aswell. I started getting into making replicas a while back mainly due to two things - one being that I personally feel "official" replicas can often look quite poor and the second being the high cost of buying them. Anyway I've rambled for long enough and I'm away to have a look around!

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Oh my goodness, I love this forum. It's filled with so many informations and I'm overwhelmed. Would love to start collecting some props. I have just started and have a few MR fx sabers. But it looks like I'm missing so much more now that I see the many talents here. This forum is just wow....:)

My name is Phil and I am from Oklahoma, USA. PR85 is the gamer tag I go by. I am a big fan of a lot of the guys on here and have been following the forum for nearly a year now. I only recently started to construct my suit. I am building a Master Chief suit and am just starting the resin and fiberglass phase of the project. I would love to hear from any of you experienced suit makers on tips or tricks that could be beneficial. You can check out my homepage for the current workings of my suit, but once I get a little more done I will bring some pics to the forums. Glad to be a part of the site!

hello all
i found this site about a week ago after stumbling across robos iron man mark 6 pep files and wanted to do some improvements. everyone on the site has been a great help and i wanted to be a part of the rpf to spread what ive done and hopefully help others in their builds as well

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

I've been around for a couple o' years but never got around to signing up, until back in september, and I never read the guidelines regarding 20 posts and 45 days. Oops. Well, I am of fan of the Star Wars, mainly Ralph Mcquarrie's art and the Ep.IV and V. However, I appreciate so much other stuff outside the SW universe. I am an r2builder, still working on that. I am hoping to eventually be able to weather and build other stuff too. No skills, yet. I think all of you out there with an eye for making stuff are amazing! I wish I was at your level, regarding scratch built things. I hope to able to contribute to others the way folks here have, unbeknownst to them, helped me over the last 2 years.

Indeed, therpf is awesome.

:)

Hi everyone! I love the quality of work here.
I work as a Digital artist making 3d models and I am a member of the 501st and troop as a TK. I am currently working on Clone Commander Cody's armor that I hope to have done in the next year and maybe get started on an EVA Iron Man armor build. The pic is of me and Robert Englund during the opening ceremonies from last summers Fan Expo in Toronto.
Cheers!

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hey all, been lurking for a long while now. Decided to drop by and say hello. I'm adam and duh, I like Star Wars. I have a few projects I'm working on. One being a full set of Noble6 armor. The actual name of the armor escapes me. Next in the works is Adraas' (sith acolyte.) mask/armor from SWTOR. and right now lastly Starkillers costume, starting with helmet. Hit a few snags with that, but that's another story.

Thanks for all the help already, all!

Hello there,

Registered with this site as I'm a fan of Doctor Who and only recently found out about the world of quality replica props while trying to track down a decent sonic screwdriver.

Already found other DW things to take my fancy but still looking for that sonic (10th Doctor please)!

Cheers!

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Good day, Just wanted to say hello to all, I have been watching for years, finally got the time to register and post a NCR Ranger gas mask and helmet i have been sculpting and working on for quite some time. I do not cast any of my helmets in 2 part plastic, I tap them of glass, just better quality and a labor of love. I hope to network and meet some great people here, I build and create alot of things. I have been creating since i was a young lad and have been working as an artist in the field for 23 years. i will post more of my work soon.... I cover alot of mediums, I am always looking to improve and learn new things, there are alot of super talented people here and look forward to meeting and talking with them. through the sharing knowledge, all have the chance to grow into oak trees in the forrest of time.

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello everybody, I'm Andrea from Italy. I was looking for some suggestion as I'm trying to build an IronMan costume.... well, I've found more than expected!

Here my first attempt, I'm not happy at all

1) finding the correct material is a pain here.... Just a 5mm. bubblish foam or 1cm. decent one (but too thick, imo)

2) I think fiberglass will let me be far more precise. Maybe I'll try with Bondo (if I just could find something like that!)

Bye for now, and thank you for this great forum!
Andrea

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello Everyone,

I am new to the prop collecting game, but I have always had a interest in things that are used in movies and television. I enjoy coming on this site to see all the amazing things that you guys are able to create. I hope to learn a lot about collecting and manufacturing props. I am starting a Dexter collection right now and hope to keep myself busy with identifying and then acquiring props used in the show.

Greetings and salutations to fellow People-Who-Like-To-Invest-A-Lot-Of-Time-To-Recreate-Something-They-Saw-Once,

My name is PoopaPapaPalps but you can call me, PoopaPapaPalps. I've been a member since 2010 but I've stalked this place for ages, to give some sense of how long, since the first design of the forums. I haven't been active since I chalked up the nerve and joined, though. The reason being that I'm a bit intimidated by some of the stuff you amazing people have done and feel that I've not created anything worth posting about. Most things I've done in the past have been made from scrap material I have just laying around; most of the time that material being cardboard, tape, hot glue, Apoxy clay, and elbow grease (This I seem to have plenty to spare). Though, recently, I've started getting into more of the 'pro' stuff like liquid plastics and other mold making related things. Not that I'm a pro or anything at it, but nothing some practice can't improve.

I may update my personal page with some past builds in the near future but some things I'm working on currently is an animated short for another site, as well as a complete retool of a craptastic recast of Deckard's Blaster and Random Hajile's modified shotgun from Snatcher.

I'm always surprised what you fellow members are able to create and I wait with belated breath to see what else you guys are able to do in the future.
Remember, the Force will be with you, always.

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Well, finally joined up after lurking around these boards for the better part of a year while working on a halloween costumes for me and my sons(Boba Fett for my 6 year old, Jango for myself and a 300 Spartan for my 14 year old). Now that has come and gone i find myself with a little free time before i throw myself into my next build( Iron man and War Machine in foam for next years trick or treating!)
In the past i havnt been real good with taking pictures through my builds but now with a little more time(and grousing from the wife) i will work on progress pics as i go.
Just want to say that i have followed many of the threads on the rpf religiously and that the talented people here are what motivated me to get crackin myself.
Thanks.
Brit.
