Hi, I'm Fran, some of you may know me as Fran Sparklypants. I mainly work on the spandex side of costuming, but I joined here since I have a massive love of sculpted work in general. An appreciation for what I can't do myself, I guess.

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hey Guys wanted to introduce myself. I LOVE props, they are for me some of the best art. Props make you think about the movie and how it relates and it's just wonderful :)

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello,
I have been reading this forum for quite some time now, I made an account awhile ago, but only now am getting around to posting.:rolleyes

Anyways, I am from Michigan, I have broad area of experience, I sculpt 1:18 scale figures, mostly Star Wars and Military. I have a good knowledge of building techniques, and a knack for creativity. I am just starting a Captain America TFA costume, I just ordered, and purchased most of the supplies for the shield, and am starting to work on it. I am using Valor's awesome thread for reference.

Last year I made a Whiplash Exo-skeleton, which involed a lot of pop rivets, and soldering of LEDs. Somewhere down the road I'd like to build a set of Republic Commando armor. I also have a growing intrest in tactical gear/apparel, and body armor, from design to construction and field use.

If you like, please check out my Facebook page Niyic Creations, I have a good variety of my work on there, and more projects are always being added.

I look forward to participating in the rpf boards!

Hi. I've got a pretty big background in costumes/props/design. Growing up I was surrounded by it as my family owned a sfx company. I believe that when it comes to costumes/prop design, 'near enough' is NEVER good enough. From what I've read here, I can see I'm not the only one who feels that way. That's quite comforting as I'm often accused of being too full-on with my research and attention to detail.

Hey everyone,

My name is Gabe and I came across this forum in search of replica Halo weapons. Specifically, I was looking for a gravity hammer to hang on my wall. I was blown away by this forum and was instantly interested in modeling. I've never done any modeling before, but after seeing some of the props on the forum, I have a brand new spark of interest.

I'm looking forward to conversing with the memebers and learning about this fantastic hobby!

Hi

I'm quite new to this site although most of my prop related searches have led me here in one way or another so i decided that this would most likely be the best place for me to join if i am to get into the prop collecting world, so here i am : )

from what i have seen so far this was absolutely the right choice, great to be here.

I have been collecting props and figures for a few years now, some of my props include the MR Neuralyzer, a noisy cricket replica which i have yet to identify (prop maker wise) and a couple of lightsabers (one MR, one Hasbro). i hope to expand my collection in time so i look forward to what this site and its members can teach me.

Cheers

Hey, my friend Warcft has been a member of the RPF for quite as while now And I finally bit the bullet and decided to join.

I am fairly interested in props and whatnot, and I think this is a really good place to start collecting and making them. My experience with making props is a really crappy Kingdom key and a full size pepakura Zero Helmet.

I look forward to meeting tons of people here with similar interests and passion about collecting.

Hey,
I'm Dave(25) from Berlin.. i love movies and masks and stuff that reminds me of the good time displayed in movies! Last year for Halloween I had only 2 hours to finish this Movie costume Donnie Darko Costume by ~deefdarko on deviantART ... i went as the movie Donnie Darko, not Frank. In June I tried to replicate the smallville kryptonite key as a birthday gift for a friend. He's a very passionate guy so I made it red. loved it. This halloween i want to revisit my Frank mask with a little more time. I also tried scratch build of a storm trooper, but a reaction between styrofoam and the putty destroid it :((

Hey guys, my name's Chris. I'm new to the forum and new to the hobby. I found out about this place through Stealth's tutorial video and I'm hoping to start an Iron Man Mark VI suit once I get all the materials together.

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi Everyone,

I'm Jonathan, a 29 year old web developer in Texas. I've always been interested in fabricating my own props and replicating things I've seen in movies. I've got an artists eye for detail and a programmers obsessive compulsive need for things to be perfect.

It's amazing to find a site of like minded people who won't accept anything short of perfection. I can't wait to jump in and help out where I can. I have a great deal of experience carving and constructing with wood as well as metal work. My goal is to add plastic and resign work to skill set as soon as possible.

Hello all,

I am new to costume making and saw this site as a wonderful opportunity to get tips and tricks so that I may be better able to make great costumes for myself and my friends. My first project will be rough but I hope you all will like it when I post it up after being finished. See yall on the flip

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

hello all...
I found this wonderful forum after looking for hints and tricks when working on my daughter's Star Wars Fan Days costume.
We had an old, inoperable Kenner Han Solo blaster from '78 she wanted to use, so I took alot of info here and tried my first....my last?....weathering job on the old toy. Also made a leather holster to fit her 'kind of' mimicing my DeSanti carry holster i use on my G19
I may post some pics later, but amatuerish it is compared to some here.
thanks for a wonderful forum,
Ken

HI all. Love the site, just found it. Like props from Star Trek, BSG and Batman. Have made replica documents for BSG and Batman just for fun. Look forward to browsing the forums.

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi John here i Scotland. I used to work in Theatre, then film then television and made , repaired props as part of day to day job. I wish I had taken photos of some of the stuff I have seen when I was working. I particulalry wanted to drive the tank from Aliens which was outside at Pinewood when I was there, (Little Shop of Horrors, was being filmed). I remember there were so many great props sitting about and lying outside at the time, in the 80's obviously.

Howdy all! I have been a member since Jan. 2010, but haven't been here for a while. My name is Tyler Durden (yes, that is my name! My middle name is "Hicks", and my wife's name is Marla "Ripley" Durden... Yup, we are geek fans, but we love it!), we reside in Edmonton, Alberta Canada.
I am a member of the Aliens Legacy forum and have often been sent to this site by other members to view the amazing work that a lot of you have done.
I look forward to visiting here and posting some builds that I have been "working" on... SLOWLY, for the better part of 5 years. Which would be my Smartgunners costume. I designed my own version of the stabilizer arm that I have been machining, but due to the lack of funds and equipment, it has been slow going.
If you are a member of the Aliens Legacy forum, then you can check out my progress. My screen name is "xeno_stomper", and my call-sign is "GroundBeef".

Anyway, glad to be back!
Cheers to all!

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi everyone...

WOW what a truly amazing site!! some very very talented people here...

although I don't have a clue about building anything I take great satisfaction in reading these forums and seeing the great work you guys produce. I am keen to start collecting, specifically replica costumes from the 80's and early 90's. I would love to own a robocop and TMNT suit...

I love fancy dress party's, and whenever I go to one I make sure I have the best costume there. I never go in a generic costume. This Halloween I am putting together a teen wolf costume, not in the basketball outfit but in the white suit :) easier and not much hair needed, at the moment I am covered in glue and hair after making my foam latex prosthetics as I want the face to look as authentic as possible....

anyway, hi to all...

Peace out guys...
