re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hey everyone, I'm new here (obviously) and can't wait to start interacting with you all. I'm an absolute noob when it comes to costuming, but I've got a pretty decent Indy costume and Marty McFly. I'm actively looking to get help with TFA Cap costume, so I'm sure I'll find what I need here. Great forum, guys!

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hey Guys, My name is Damian, I live in TX, and I'm currently a DC superhero at a theme park. I'm not really new here, I've been a member since around the time Watchmen came out, I've been lurking, taking advice, saving reference photos, and occasionally replying to threads, i usually only come back to the RPF when I garner a new obsession and decided to replicate it for a con, or my own personal enjoyment.

I've been collecting props, toys and memorabilia since I can remember, Ive got a pretty extensive collection but my crowning achievement is my Screen accurate Rorschach costume with Thermal mask, took me a few months to source all the stuff, and a couple months and a lot of labor later. I was the winner of several costume contests and the center of attention at a few cons.

but as much as I take pride in that piece, I am no where near the level of the professional quality I see here on this site on a daily basis, and I'm proud to actually be a member (I remember a time when I could never make registration.)

Presently Im working on my 11th Doctor Costume for Comic-Con Austin which is coming up here in november, and I'm pretty far along in my costume, but I'm having some difficulties trying to both apprehend an actual replica, and Modifying my own toy versions to a more screen accurate piece.

I look forward to all the correspondence with all the great minds and able hands of the community here at therpf.

Cheers!

Hi all,

I've been a life long movie buff, and an avid tinkerer. I always have been a big fan on props and seeing their creation.

Lately a few friends and myself are planning on making some movies, and since I'm the most mechanically inclined. It has fallen to me to make all props our combined minds can think of.

I found THERPF by following an IndyMogul reference, and well here I am looking and drooling at all the AWESOME STUFF people have created. I find it incredibly inspirational and astounded by the wealth of known that can be found within these forums.

Hopefully some day I'll built some props that will have people looking and drooling as well

Til then thanks.

I specialize in the rare wands, the ones of characters that are not mass-produced and replicated, as well as the more common ones and designs/creations of my own.

Howdy, names Rob, live in El Paso, TX, been lurking around here and the 405th for about a year now. Starting toying with Pep products while I was living over in Korea, but it's hard to find materials to get a complete bit going, and Int'l shipping kills any cost effectiveness.

Looking to start my first serious build (Iron Man/War Machine) and I've been stealing little bits here and there from just about anyone who's made a suit to get mine the way I like it. Currently reprinting some pep files from Zabana's work/collaberations, since the ones I had were old.

Maybe possibly inc thread...somewhere...sometime...I'm lazy XD.

Hello all,

Long time lurker, only more recently gotten into posting! I love the talent on these boards and may start trying my hand at building something next year when I have some more spare time. In the meantime, looking at getting some props, really would like a good 'Rocky v Apollo' painting, the Iron Man (Obama style poster) and a Power Rangers communicator - they're top 3 on my list!

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hey Hey, Amateur and low budget costume builder here. I've yet to get into props but was introduced to RPF by a friend and you all just might be turning me. I have a couple builds under my belt that i might post but next on my list is a blade runner get up.

Sooooooo yeah, I'm Kurt Bergeron from the Boston, Ma. area. I've been a long time prop collector and attemptive replica prop maker. I don't consider myself an expert by any means but I enjoy the projects I work on greatly.

I started as an actor, and the first film I auditioned for, an low-budget horror flick called "God of Vampires," went really well, and although I have a small cameo and the director liked my audition, he turned me down because this film was based on Chinese Vampires, which I, a white kid from New England with a French-Canadian background didn't exactly fit. Rob (the director) told me that he needed a production designer. I told him I had never done that before, and he told me,...that's fine...I've never directed before.....let's figure it out....and off we went, and I've been doing similar work for the past 10 years.

I've been working in that art department and various fields for films shooting around Boston like The Fighter, Grown Ups, and most recently, Here Comes the Boom, I Hate You Dad and Ted, which are yet to be released. Rob and myself have also started work on our second independent film "The Pact," and I'm in the process of writing a comedic web series, which is very reference-humor heavy and I hope will prove worthy of renting, building, buying, borrowing props and various pieces to hit those marks. I'd love to talk to any of you about it.
