re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello everyone, My name is kyle and I am from Minnesota. As far as props i have at this moment, well i only have replicas, i have the tron legacy disk, the 1/15 DST delorean, and some star wars statues.
What I am trying to make right now is a Back to the future 2 hoverboard, then after that I think i am going to try and do the ghostbusters proton pack.
I am very new to this, so if you have any tips or anything like that, oh what tools should i be on the look out for that will help the most. I really dont have to many tools which makes things a bit hard to make.

But yeah, Im kyle, from Minnesota and i love movies.

Hello, My name is Leigh, I'm 37 & from Cambridgeshire UK.
I've wanted to be a prop builder ever since I left school but ended up in the motor trade as a restorer.
I'm now sick to death of cars & have desided I should think about following my dream & change my career before I'm too old.

I'm a huge Star wars fan, I've collected some of the toy's from my youth, I have a MR 1-1 LE Anakin saber & a Luke replica saber I built from & replica Graflex flash.

I'm also an Alien saga fan & I'm having a bash at building my own 1-1 head & neck of the alien in the first film. I'm very much an novice when it comes to sculpting & moulding though so I'll be on the hunt for some good advise.

Thanks :)

Leigh

HI
I use to be on here long ago but never really participated or posted I mostly lurked..

My name is Lee aka "The Batfan" I have been known as "The Batfan" for almost 20 years now I was involved with a few Batman Fanzines back in the 90's. I have been collecting Batman memorabilia for 20+ years. I mostly focus on general memorabilia toys, statues etc but I do own some props and prop replicas from the Tv series and first 4 films( I will try and get some pics of them). My collection contains over 25,000 items over 1200 pieces of original artwork 5000+ comics and magazines etc etc. I enjoy discussing collecting and etc with collectors who collect pretty much anything. Batman is my passion but I love pretty much any Scifi or Horrortype films and tv shows. I enjoy building Resin Kits ( mostly Batman related of course lol)

I do NOT like the Nolan verse films sooo lol one of my odd quirks I am known on other forums etc on my rants about it. (I will be good here and try and not go into them as I know a lot of people do like them)

Hopefully I will try and be more active

G'Day,
Just joined - will be lurking for quite a while - will only speak up when I have something to offer, or a burning question...
What have I already made?
Years ago I did a full Darth Vader costume - long since gone (although the cape is around somewhere). Did a few replica tools, but then got caught up in making real tools.
Did quite a few scale model rockets from TV shows - Thunderbirds, Wallace and Gromit, etc.
Most recent "prop" is a life-size model of Bender.
Next builds after finishing the accessories for Bender (booze bottle, ray gun, purple camera) will be a "golden gun", and the early series sonic screwdriver (circa Tom Baker era)

What else to say? I've built other things, but they don't necessarily count as props.

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Greetings All,
My names John and I am an aspiring prop/costumer. I currently have done a Lancer grade Imperial Biker Scout (TB4097) and and Empire Strikes Back version of Boba Fett. While I bought the kits, I did do all the building myself. Over the past year I have learned so much and want to step it up now. Besides Star Wars, I am an avid Warhammer 40K fan. I have been collecting and following it for over 20 years. On the table top, I used to field an Inquisitorial Army, but with the new changes, its been reassigned as a pure Grey Knights army. And that leads me into the RPF. I am going to hopefully fashion a GK set of armor. If failing that, then I hopefully will be able to make some helmets that I can then paint up with different chapters to adorn my game room.

So, in no short order, I will be perusing and learning a million things from you all. If anyone else is a 40K fan or can offer advice, by all means please, as I could use it.

Hi guys. My name is Blaine, and I'm a 26 year old police officer from NC. I'm a member of the 501st Legion and the Mandalorian Mercs, and currently own one sandtrooper kit, one Jaster Mereel (Mandalorian) kit, and a partially constructed Republic Commando kit.

I've been totally blown away by the members of the RPF for quite a while now. You guys are awesome. Hopefully one day I can contribute something of value to the community in compensation for all the hours of enjoyment I've gained from browsing the RPF.

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello, i just found this site a couple of weeks ago. i work at a video store that does very little business so i have alot of time to play on the webz. im new into costuming. i dont really know how to make anything, but i do very much have a love for costumes. i bought a replica spidey suit of ebay a couple years back, and it is very nice with the 3d webbing and all, but im a rather small guy at maybe 5'6 and 128 pounds, and not a whole lot of muscle lol. so thats how i found this site, I was looking for a muscle suit. just a small muscle suit, nothing to fancy or rediculously huge. so if anyone can help me out that would be cool. also i cant spend a whole lot.

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello all, Heath from Alabama here! I stumbled upon theRPF while looking for ideas on mandalorian armor and weapons. I haven't done anything with custom props but with all of the excellent information and talented people on this site I hope to change that.

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi all, I'm Matt from the UK, been lurking for absolutely ages, went out to buy a bunch of dremel accessories yesterday and though registering finally would top it off! Been building props for years mostly within the realm of 'hobby' but recently considering it as a career choice after spending weeks hanging around with the props team on a Warner Bros feature this summer. You may know me around at various other prop-related places on the internet, I recognise a few names during my lurking sessions here. Look forward to contributing.

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi - I'm Adam from Los Angeles. I've been a fan of the site for a while - I actually tried to join years ago but that was when new membership was on hold. I definitely go through phases of prop interest due primarily to my work schedule (and corresponding income stream lol) but I was heavily involved over at the ASAP boards a few years ago making the replica rank devices - some of you may know me from there. Even when I'm not buying, I love to read through the posts and look at all the GREAT work the members here do. I look forward to being able to contribute something soon!

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

I have been a member of rpf since July 2010 and after having spent many hours lurking about, viewing the amazing work of the other members of the forum, I thought it was high time to introduce myself. I am a huge movie buff and have dreams of a future media room decorated with movie props and posters from my collection. I have been collecting movie posters for over a decade, but only recently have started to add props. I have attended several Film and Entertainment Memorabilia auctions at Christie's South Kensington, but most items were too rich for my blood and I only came away with two shooting scripts from Star Trek TOS. I put together a list of items that I am going to attempt to fabricate and the inspiration they come from includes Batman, Harry Potter, Back to the Future, Doctor Who, Rocketeer, Ghostbusters, and Indiana Jones. I have made peace with my extremely lack of both workspace and ability, so I am also looking for the best replicas made by other rpfers, such as the wonderful grail made by Restaurajones that I recently added to my collection and would not of know about if it wasn’t for the rpf.

I look forward to the future where I will be able to post details of a build that I am working on and will be able to truly join the ranks for the rpf craftspeople.

Hi, my name is Mike and I'm a member of both the 501st Legion and the Mandalorian Mercs costuming clubs. I have a growing interest in props as I am considering expanding my costuming beyond the realm of Star Wars. I hope that I can learn a few things here.

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello, my name's Andy, i'm from the DC area. I have experience in a few other art forms but I really don't know where to start in making my own cosplay outfit. Right now i'm here to learn the processes in the hopes of completing my own top-notch outfits + gear. Mortal Kombat and TF2 respectively are my #1 priorities right now but i've also got an interest in Star Wars, Stargate, Doctor Who and RPG type stuff too. Cheers!

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello, my name is Ken and I'm a photographer. I purchased my first ever prop last month, Green Lantern Movie Replica and was doing more research to see what else was out there. I landed here and have been obsessed with the forum for the last few days. I'm hoping I'll gleam enough knowledge to make a costume for this year's halloween.

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello, I'm Nick. I'm new to the forum and introducing myself now. I've made a few different props including static lightsabers (mostly just to do battle with) and most recently a custom Sonic Screwdriver, and yes, it even lights up!
By the way: My username is to be read Sonic(holas) Not So Nicholas.
Well I guess I'll be seeing all of you around the board!

Greetings!

I just discovered this site and what a great place it is. When I see the cool things people are doing here it just inspires me to do more.

I am 52 years old (and counting) and am a jack of all trades. Over my professional career I've been a fabricator, millwright, welder, electrician, mechanic, machinist, CNC programmer/operator, CAD/CAM operator, programmer and software engineer.

One of my favorite hobbies has always been scale modeling. Over the last few years I have been focusing on full scale models from my favorite sci-fi movies and TV shows. I have also been branching out into video games.

I will be posting some of my past and current projects soon.
