Hello All,

I am James Catania from Malta, a small island state in the Mediterranean in Europe. I have been building robots and movie props for a while, I don't know why I made my life difficult by not making part of the RPF forum. Looking forward to helping and find help especially from European builders since as you know materials usually are not the same and is usually a sticking point for building for us Europeans. This is some of my latest work :)

Hello From Denmark

My name is Jens Anso, 45 years old and fulltime knife maker for the past 18 years. I have been making since 1989 and have a masters degree in Industrial Design. I mainly make modern folding knives as well as I do quite a bit of knife designing for knife companies in Germany, Italy and the USA. I have a general interest in all things crafted by hand and have always had a fascination with Japanese crafts in general. I am self-taught in knife making and more recently have become self-taught in running my two CNC milling machines. My interest in knife making is driving me towards doing more art knives and in that pursuit I have started learning basic jeweler technics and such. Also while the CNC machines helps me run a fairly productive and succesfull company I have been feeling bit distanced from the basics in my field of work but working less and less with my hands.
This combined with my movie interest and especially Blade Runner lead me here after having followed Adam Savage´s Tested for several years and the desire to build my own Blaster eventually.

This is some of my work on knives...so far no prop builds but have been making "stuff" all my life. The dagger is as close to a "prop" I guess as it was inspired by Luv´s dagger in 2049 though the materials are not meant to resemble anything from the movie....

Hey everyone I’m Alex from the US, and this is kind of my first step into building and making. I’m starting off by making a DL-44 blaster which should be fun.

Look forward to seeing all of the great stuff here.

Hi, I’m Irene from Greece! I’ve always been into building and creating, and just recently got into replicas from film. I hope this experience on this lovely forum can teach me many things and grant me new friends along the way :)

Hi y'all,
I'm Josh from Richmond, VA. I run a professional set and prop production company, and I love the community here at the RPF. We've frequently used threads from this forum for reference, since nobody pays more attention to the details than the fans! Although much of our work is original (or derived from a popular franchise enough not to violate copyright), we've done a couple of replicas for private clients.

I joined the forum so I could be a part of the community and see what everyone is working on, whether they're professionals or hobbyists.

Hi everyone!

I'm Kyle from Montreal. I'm not a prop builder, but I am looking for a bit of help from you experts! A couple years ago, my pal drew me a 1:1 pencil drawing of Han's DL-44, and it is absolutely stunning. I've been wanting to try my hand at doing the same thing, but with lightsabers. My problem is that I cannot find reliable images to reference, and was hoping you fine folks might have a database of detailed images I can use in this forum? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
