Hey everyone! My name is Patrick; I only just recently heard of this website and was more than overjoyed to see it exists as with how my interests have begun to change and gear towards the more crafty-related pastimes. While I've done a fair amount of cosplay involving make ups of a wide variety it's only just recently I have come to the conclusion to start working with foams and possibly other types of materials to make higher quality and more convincing props and costumes alike!

I am extremely excited too start working in just a few weeks on my first big project, Medivh from the Warcraft franchise. More specifically I am going for his design from the subsequent game, Heroes of the Storm. I have been a huge fan of video games, movies, and was raised by a family immersed in the "nerd culture" per say. To start a cosplay with a rather "classic" yet unique looking spellcaster is a dream come true for me! I know I will for sure be asking questions on this forum on the topic of his staff, especially considering I am highly desiring to make as much of it as possible out of wood.

I thank anyone who read this little bio and encourage you to give me a poke if even that little excerpt of information was enough to inform you on what I should probably know about this build. Perhaps things I should look out for in general as well. Have a wonderful day and it is a pleasure to join this community.

Hola Everybody!! new in here, i am looking forward to learn and make myself my favorite comics sculptures and replicas.....

Hi Everyone,

I'm Steve Haze.

I just finished building a replica Terminator Endo Arm and EndoSkull using Aluminum for the arms and a 3d Printer for the skull.
I won a prize in a costume competition for Halloween...

Here is "Uncle Bob"....

Hello! I'm Sarah. I do mostly cosplay from animation, and not much "replica" stuff, so I may end up being more of a lurker. But I want to get involved in the maker community, and have heard good things about therpf.

Dropped by off and on for many years. While many of my props I’ve generally felt to be “close enough”, I’m rapidly catching the bug and have begun following more closely the quest for screen accuracy. The depth to which people have gone to determine specific details is fascinating to me.

Hello,

I stumbled on this site as I was browsing some movie props and costumes. I'm not a collector but enjoy browsing what is out there and what everyone may or may no be into. Who knows maybe I will start my collection soon.

New to this group.Found it when i was looking for info on the Mig 31 Fighter from the movie Firefox.Seen some great build work in here.

Hey everyone,

Canadian here. Now that I'm out of university and no longer hopping between home and school, I can finally make it to a con. I'll be looking for some pointers to make my first con cosplay a good one. I've always put some solid effort and attention to detail into my Halloween costumes, but I've never quite been able to go all out before, and I always try and pick something where I won't have to tell people who I am every 5 minutes (which will likely not be an issue at a con).

Can't wait to join the cosplay game!

Hello all,

I'm interested in becoming a maker and making my own props, replicas, costume pieces and that kind of stuff. But since New Zealand is tiny it's hard to find other makers.

Hello Everyone!

I have been an avid fan of modeling and came across this forum by accident looking for Thunderbirds-related models. It is an honor and pleasure to see how much talent is out there and look forward to trying out some of these techniques myself! I'm currently working on a Captain Cardboard X-wing and looking to attempt to scratch-build a studio scale Thunderbird 2 from the original series.

Looking forwards to seeing everyone's work!

Regards,
Joe

Hello everyone,
I found this forum through the 405th and thought it was kinda cool so I finally decided to join. For the most part the items I build are Halo props. I also do set construction for the theater program at my high school. My current projects are a Halo 5 recruit charred armor set and the Bowery King gun box from John Wick 2.

Howdy. I just started my first film prop. I've been tinkering in my garage for years, fixing and modifying my kids toys, working on and painting Airsoft gun replicas, making simple costumes for my kids and I. I was a technician in the Army and later as a contractor working on various electronic systems. I'm a Jr in college nearing my Bachelors Degree in Electronics Engineering.
My prop is the Nimbus 2000 from Harry Potters first quiddich match. Building it in secret for my wife, a HUGE fan of the series, as her Christmas gift. I'ok be posting my progress in the appropriate build thread shortly, as well as some questions.

One of my kids powerwheels. I wasn't trying to be accurate at all, its done fast and sloppy:

Hello, folks.

Eve Online player here, been working on a self-upholstery project for a bit over a year now...I do automotive work and learned to sew by re-upholstering old seats. Other interests include resin castings, mostly to reproduce broken plastic handles or even rubber boots/hoses that are currently made of the purest unobtanium.

Been working on a properly fitting, comfortable leather jacket based on one from my game, so far I've patterned it up in cloth but some ease and shaping still needs to happen. As far as the resin castings...I've only just become interested in it and found this site via googling how-to videos. The parts I need to mold and cast are fairly intricate and while I am very, very familiar with how I would be casting them in a green sand or lost wax mold, I am totally new to the silicone molding process that would seem to give the results I'm after.

Hello everyone...I’m a Star Wars droid builder and live in Mississippi. Ran across this site through another builder and figured I would come check it out.

Hi! I've visited this websites quite some times when building cosplays in the past. Recently I've been more into theme design and propmaking and getting LED's and others electronics involved. Since I've just started a large Jurassic Park project I thought I'd be a good idea to finally register to this website and get more involved.

Hello!

I'm Scott from North Caroline. I've known about the RPF for years, but never considered joining until I realized how great a community it is, mainly from watching Adam Savage on Tested.com's YouTube channel. I've been a collector for many years, mainly toys from my favorite childhood TV shows. About 3 years ago, I discovered the cosplay community and was blown away by people building Iron Man and Master Chief. It was game over for me, as I immediately failed at two attempts building fiberglass pepakura suits lol. I was moderately successful at a foam Iron Man build however. After looking at this suit siting on my display rack and the horrible condition it is in after only wearing it once, I have decided to start another build.IMG_7125.JPG

Hello everyone!
