Hi all! I found this forum through the FX Sabers Forum, someone had mentioned it in a comment so I figured I'd give it a whirl!

Hello everyone,
I am a new member in this forum.
I really interested with this forum, Thanks for accepting me on this community.

Hi - I know I've posted in a few intro threads on here already - hopefully I'm not doubling up! I've been making studio style models since the '80s and recently (past few years) have got back into the maker scene. My love of Sci-Fi and my love of making things have collided in a few prop and costuming projects I'm working on. The big thing for me at the moment is making my first venture into cosplay - as a woman of Alex-Kingston's age I fell in love with River Song and decided I had to cosplay her. I'm currently making all the props for the character used in the Doctor Who Episode The Pandora Opens/The Big Bang. I love electronics and design so I'm not always after complete screen accuracy if I can make the prop do fun stuff too!
Looking forward to learning and getting some feedback!

Hi,
I suppose I should introduce myself..
My name is Neil and I have worked in the film industry in Art Department and Special Effects for over twenty years now, I live in Brighton in the UK but work mostly in London. I love making everything from constructing large sets to small hand props and particularly enjoy printed items and intricate objects. Most of the things I make for my job are 'faked' for budget reasons (they only have to 'look' real), but props and replicas I make for myself I like to be as authentic and detailed as possible.
I really admire some of the work I've seen here and thought it was time I said 'hi'!

Hi everyone. I suppose I should post here, since I already made a thread about a costume I'm building.
My name is Kyle, I'm from Florida, but currently living on a military base overseas. I've been on here checking out builds and stuff for a couple years, but never made an account. About 2 years ago I had thought of making a Deadpool costume but never got around to it. I know the timing is awful since he's EVERYWHERE now. But, c'est la vie. I'm building a movie replica of the costume as close as I can. I'm under a slight time crunch, so some temporary sacrifices will need to be made until I can craft some things for myself. It's for a wedding. But like I said I have a thread about the build.
I found out about this forum from a podcast that Adam Savage does. I've always had a thing for movie props, and now I found a community of like minded folks. See y'all around!

Hi, my name is David I am from the greater Seattle area. I love doing all sorts of building and projects. I have a pretty good group of friends that I am renowned as the go to guy for making custom rigs for a lot of stuff from cars to models. I grew up with an electrical engineer dad that had me doing all sorts of model building and project builds for electronics. This led me to a lot of miniature making and painting as I got older. Now I am moving into props and cosplay for friends. A new house on the way with a large garage should be kick starting this adventure. I love everything you guys do here and look forward to posting some of my own building adventures with you guys!

Hi Everyone,
My name is Sam. I've never made a prop or replica costume but have had interest in it for a long time, I've studied and have a diploma in costume for performing arts (aka dancers) and have worked as a dressmaker for several years so I hope my skills will help me. My interests are mainly Marvel and Star Wars. I look forward to making friends and sharing my progress.
:D

Hi everyone!

Firstly, thank you RPF for initiating my registration as a member here.
You guys do an awesome job up-keeping the site. Keep up the good work!

I've been a Star Wars fan since I was a kid. Never had a chance to collect any of its wonderful merchandises then.

Until recently... in 2013 my Star Wars fire has been re-ignited by none other than Angry Bird Star Wars!! LOL!
Which led me to see all the SW movies again, started collecting 3.75" figures, then 6", & 12"...then helmets...

Through helpful collectors and generous friends and fellow members like Sergiu (a good friend, mentor/guru in SW collecting)
who shares their love, passion & knowledge, tips & know-how in quality collecting & props where I have learned tons of invaluable lessons in such a short span of time!

That's when my interest grew in different facets and props is one of them of course. Through referrals from collector friends , is how I end up in this awesome community.
Thank you RPF Team for having me.

Hey everyone!

I'm John and I recently joined the site because I'm thinking of getting into creating costumes and stuff! I went to Comic Con for the first time in New York last year and it was amazing! I wish I had a costume made then, but unfortunately I ran out of time. I'm just looking forward to creating some nice Spider-Man replica suits and wearing them to future conventions! (I'm a huge Spidey fan!)

Hello Everybody, I'm Josh.

I have heard nothing but wonderful things about this community and have recently started making small hand props, so it seemed as good a time as any to join up. I am a big fan of sci-fi (good and bad), comics, and tokusatsu.

Hello, i'm Frenk from The Netherlands. I made a lot of casemod PC cases since 1999, but since computers have began to get smaller and smaller, I did not feel it was challenging enough for me. So now I'm just making props and mods for myself. My best one is a 75%to scale R2-D2 which still resides in my living room. My largest mod is sitting on top of the roof of my garden shack, which is a Sci-Fi equivelant of the German ant-aircraft weapon with 4 barrels. Lately i've been building steampunk-ish Nerf guns ( more Mad Max style IMO)
I've also build a very nice Wall-E, Rover ( from Planet51) I have a batsignal in my living room and bow i am busy with a Fallout ED-E prop.

hello all,
been coming to the RPF for a while so I thought it was about time i come out of the shadowy depths and introduce myself.
I am a huge superheros fan ( DC or Marvel, love them both) and anime/manga fan, recently started cosplaying now that i think my creations are good enough to be seen in public.
most recent project was Aiolia' s Leo helmet from saint seiya.

Hey everyone! I'm Ginger and I found this place because I just finished the Mass Effect games (yeah, I know I'm late to the party...) and I was really impressed by some of the costumes I saw on the forum. I'm always interested in meeting new people with similar interests.

I'm more of a fabricmancer, but I'm getting more and more interested in prop- and armor-making. Looking forward to my time here!

Greetings All, My name is Tommy and I am new to the RPF. I have been wanting to try my hand at Pepakura, as well as molding/casting for some time and seems now is that time. If anyone can offer any advice or warning, to do and not to do's I would appreciate it. I mainly love anything Star Wars, but I am open to all things Sci-Fi!
Glad to be here. Thanks for looking.

Hi. I recently uncovered the RPF while searching for info on MAD MAX costumes. I have always been a huge fan of movie props and costumes, especially of the Mad Max trilogy and I'm completely blown away with Mad Max: FURY ROAD (If you haven't seen it yet, see it in 3D before it is gone from theaters--it is truly an incredible experience!)

I have always enjoyed collecting various Don Post Halloween masks but I never really had any interest in any kind of cosplay at all until I found out about Wasteland Weekend (the annual Mad Max/post apocalyptic themed desert festival) a few weeks ago and knew instantly that it was "my thing" and that I HAVE to go--and so I decided to make a life long fantasy come true and to over the course of the next year create a screen accurate replica of his classic 'Road Warrior' costume and his expanded costume and accessories for his long haired, "desert sheikh" look in 'Beyond Thunderdome' to wear there.

Thank you all in advance for sharing your passion and knowledge of the Mad Max costumes here, I can't wait to get involved with you all, and I know I came to the right place to help me accomplish creating one of my own.

Hi everyone.

I am rebuilding a Chappie robot with parts from the movie (CoA's with the parts) for Costumes for a Charity however not all the parts were supplied and I came across this website in my search for parts. Looking at the great work people do on this site im hoping I can get help with the parts I dont have and would be willing to swap extra parts (and a copy of the CoA) for assistance with this.

Other than that I need to build a shield press and make a few shields for Costumes for a Charity with their logo and eventually get into moulding and armour building or prop making in general.

Cheers
Caxack

Hi all.

I was a (french) Jack Sparrow impersonator. I've given up the job, but i'm still interested by home made costume parts.
I've met fabulous people, trying to reach perfection.

Some of them are around here :D.

A part of my job :
