Hello,

I signed up an account awhile ago, but I never really posted with work and family. My son and I are big Star Wars fans and we both enjoy making props. So far we've made

- lightsaber out of parts we found
- life size ewok thanks to the ideas of very talented members here
- thermal detonator
- DL-21 Hoth blaster pistol, still need the 2" mortar fin though

We are currently working on a vibro-axe, ROTJ Luke lightsaber and costume. I am amazed at the talent here and am looking forward to posting more.

Hi Hi!!

I am a newby at the whole creating props and costumes with this year only being my second year.

I was told to join the rpf by someone who liked my work and thought I could get in touch with like minded people doing similar things.

As I said, I'm a newby and to initiate myself with creating my first complete costume I started off with an easy one... The diablo III Demon Hunter.

I am looking forward to interactions on this forum and really hope to gain some ideas and more understanding of the builds and maybe somewhere along the way I might become experienced enough to help others.... Hopefully anyway :)

Hi all!!

First of all I must say I've been lurking here for a little while and the time effort and quality that goes on here is absolutely amazing!!! And a little daunting to be honest....

Anyway about myself I am from Adelaide, South Australia. I've always loved the idea of cosplaying. I am a massive Spiderman and of course that includes the whole Marvel U.

For my 21st and made a Mysterious costume and a couple of years after that put together a Tom Baker Dr. Who costume including a scarf at about 10 meters long that my Grandma knit for me. Which I have used a few times in recent times, even got my photo taken with Winston Churchhill.

Now it's time for something new and fun!! I have a couple ideas include The Punisher, Star Lord and Spiderman and I think I'll go with the latter.
I don't exactly have the best physique for Spiderman so I think I'll be try my hand at the Last Stand Spiderman design with the confederate style jacket.

Anyway that's enough of that and I look forward to interacting with you guys on the forums!!

Hey everyone :) I'm Ada and i'm from Poland. I read this forum before and found some very helpful tips to make cosplay and i want to share my results of work and maybe it can also help someone.

Hi all. Great forum. Travelled here as part of my learning about lightsabers. Got to 41, married with kids, etc and out of the blue decided I'd quite like an original flash unit like a MPP or Graflex. Wish I'd started my quest earlier as I'm sure I've passed a few in my times looking in flea markets and cabinet rooms.

Hey guys, Michael here!

Been looking at the forum for a while now and decided to finally join!

What to say... I'm bike messenger at the moment, but studied audio engineering. I'm still studying music and I also compose. I love riding my bikes ahah, I collect 1/6 figures and make dioramas and stands.

I've been watching a lot of foam tutorials and am really tempted by making a HALO ODST armor. I think if i give it time and i can make something i'd be proud of!

It's time now to have a deeper look of the forum!

Cheers,

Sectar02

Hello! Not only my first time on a prop forum, but a forum full stop. I'm not down with the kids despite only being 22... Anyway cant wait to start posting and what not. :)

Hello all! New to the prop buliding game. Learned about pepakura through a friend and since then I have spend many hours trying to build some of the great items I have wanted since I was a kid. I've done two Halo helmets and a Storm Trooper helmet also, all which have turned out poorly. Still learning the ropes and hope to have some completed work pix up soon. They stuff I've made is really bad as they are all first try's but they have helped me see what I was doing wrong, and not stuff I want to show off, and have pretty much been smooshed while sitting in my closet. Taking on a huge project soon, so I hope to pick a lot of brains here and some help along the way.

Hello from MI. I've been doing makeup and props for many years to varying degrees. For the last 8 years I've been involved with the marine aquarium hobby and breeding fish. I'm getting back into sculpting and such and found this site. My favorite genres include Sci-Fi, horror, and fantasy. I love to travel and I'm a big fan of Manchester City FC.

Hello everyone,

New here, but have heard a LOT about the actual site. I follow the facebook page, and I am mainly here to learn, so please don't mind me as I watch for a while. I tend to be a little on the shy/nervous side at first, but I can turn really chatty once I become comfortable.

Movies that inspire me:

The Original Star Wars Trilogy
The first and third Indiana Jones movies
Jurassic Park
Star Trek: The Motion Picture, II, III, IV, and VI
Lots more...

People that inspire me:

Steven Spielberg
Stan Winston
Phil Tippet
Dennis Muren
Patrick Read Johnson
Jim Dow
Richard Winn Taylor II
George Takei
Leonard Nimoy
And even more...

I'm in Chicago and am working on a replica prop, but I want to be cautious about talking about it too much, so as not to be advertising this or that, and to keep in the guidelines. If you're curious, you can message me, but I don't want to turn my chance to learn into a walking advertisement. :p

Thanks for having me!

-Kim

Hi I stumbled upon this site looking for advise on a costume I'm making. Its my first detailed costume (well detailed compared to what I've done) and really want it to turn out well!
Hopefully i can find the help i need here.

Greetings, everyone! My name is Matthew and I hail from beautiful (haha) Southern Indiana. I'm a life-long comic and sci-fi geek and I've finally come to a point in my life (turning 30 in November) where I've started to tackle the interest of costumes, props, and hopefully make-up. It's always been an interest of mine, but it never came to fruition until I was taken to a con a couple of months ago by my mother and brother... Go figure, my mother got into cons before I did...

I've been soaking up as much knowledge as possible, and have embarked on a pepakura Ironman Mark 42 helemet to get my feet wet.

I've been a fan of these pages for a while. Now I've joined the fun! Looking forward to the feedback on my custom Hasbro DL44

Hi guys. My Name is Thorsten from Germany. I'm 36 years old. After building a couple of Ghostbusters props in the past few years to complete my costume. I think it is time to move on. My future projects will be a DL44 and E11 blasters from Star Wars and maybe some Colonial marines props. So I will stay here for some time. Thanks for the inspiration!

I'm Andrea Taber (aka Hekate), wife to Terry Taber. I'm a mother of twin girls (HELP!). I'm semi new to Cosplay. I have made several costumes, starting when I was eight-years-old.

My first costume was Robin. FYI, always ask your uncle BEFORE you chop up and dye his underwear yellow.

My current project is Rocket Raccoon. I've never made a full head mask before, so this is interesting to say the least.
