Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi there all.
I'm fairly new to all this awesome stuff you guy n gals make but am really jazzed up about it. I've always made 'stuff' to a fashion but never to the quality showcased here. Recently been to a cosplay convention and was soooooo impressed with the make quality and fun everyone had.
Decided to start making 'stuff' seriously now as with all the kit available its hard not to do a good job.
So with any luck I'll be contributing in the near future!
I'm already a member on the fb RPF and have posted some bits up there like those shown below. image.jpg

Cheers.

Hey folks, the name's Marc, and I'm mostly just a fan - of both films and what you amazingly talented guys are able to do. I only wish I could create the things that come out of this place. Just unbelievable.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hey everyone, I'm Tommy. I'm a huge fan of films such as Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Back To The Future, Indiana Jones, (to name a few), and tv shows such as Airwolf(all time fave), Dukes Of Hazzard, and countless others of course. I joined awhile back but haven't introduced myself yet and lately I've been wanting to get much more involved with making props and such and also adding to and expanding my collection of awesome items. There is so much awesome work on here and it is a huge amount of fun to browse around and see what unbelievable pieces are created next:cool

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Greetings Programs,

Been visiting for a while. I had a name here a couple of years ago but forget about and it's gone now. So a " Sandmans Gun" and Vaders ROTJ/ ESB saber brought me back.

Now with a new name!

Enjoy .

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello, My name is Joseph and I live in Orlando Fl. I've wanted to build something for a while and didn't know what. I still don't know what I'm going to build but it will just happen. I looking forward to the site and all the information and friends that I will make.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello! My name is Trevor and I am just getting back into doing proper replica work. Back in the late 90s I created quite a few Star Trek & Star Wars replicas. I got away from it because of, well, life. Now that I am older (probably not any wiser) I am getting back into replication. Part of it is for me since I still love props, and part is for my son so I can build him some kick ass stuff!

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello everyone,

Hailing from Utah. So my wife is way into cosplay and costuming (she has a collection of wigs and costumes), needless to say I was easily convinced to join in on the fun. I'm here to learn, get ideas and be part of a fun group. I work as a broadcast engineer, love to play with machining tools and make things, still in school so things are on a budget so I don't have much of a shop yet. There is so much to do I'm just having trouble to decide where to start.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi - my name is William, and Im Swedish, I joined a while back just because I get these cravings from time to time to build something, like something out of a movie or such. Been doing Ship models for a few years, some RC Submarines, but lately I am mostly into Vintage motorcycles, preferably before 1945. Currently working on a Proton pack in my Mancave, but I never know what will catch my eye!

Also, there is so many talented people here, it is just an honour that I can be a small part of it.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello all

I found this site from watching Tested on YouTube. I am relatively new to costuming and prop building all though i have had a very big interest in it for a very long time, but i was involved in a long term relationship with a person who did not support me doing this, but that bitch is gone now and my new girlfriend is so awesome and very supportive. so here i am. :D

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

I have just started using this forum, although I made this account for a month ago.

My own prop project is a 1:1 R2D2 made out of mainly HIPS plastic, MDF wood and a steel dome. Scratch build of course.
As I am just 16 I see myself as one of the youngest R2D2-makers, on a budget of course.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Greetings All!

Much like the rest of us shy types, I have only admired from afar (not in a stalker kind of way, in more of a look but don't touch kind of way, which really isn't that much better).

I finally took the chance to register and here I am!

I love the work that other fans have put up here, the craftsmanship is bar-none as good if not better than their big budget originals that they were inspired by.

Kudos to EVEYONE on this board! I hope that my meager projects will be good enough to post here as well.

Excelsior!!!

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hey everyone! My name is Brian. I live in South Carolina, and I have always made Halloween costumes for myself each year. I stumbled across this site through an Instructables tutorial about Pepakura and how to use it to make a Predator mask. I've frequented the site several times since then for ideas and information, but I'm only just now joining as an actual member. I'm completely new to actual building of props and armor, so I've been having a great time reading posts and trying to learn new things about the building process. Even the projects I have no interest in building myself are completely outstanding and it's amazing to see the talented people on this site. I'm hoping over time to be on a similar level to them. :)

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello, I'm Milo Windby. I live in Canada and work as a cook for A&W.
I've been wanting to get into Costume making for a while now and have chosen to go with sewing as an introduction path. Currently getting myself a machine to use as well as basic lessons.
One of the things I want to do is less costume but still fun, I want to make some hoodies with cat boy theme to them, would have cat ears and a tail (Perhaps optional paw gloves.)
I'm also looking at finding Star Fleet Uniform patterns to use so I can try my hands at Star Trek as well. I have found some on Roddenberry though I wonder if there are any free fan made patterns lurking around on the net as well. (Not trying to sound cheap or anything.)
Looking forward to seeing what others can do and to see what I can make as well once I start.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi, I'm Audrey. A friend recommended this forum to me. I'm trained as a couture fashion designer, but I've never done props or armor before, so I'll be needing help with that. I'm currently planning on making a Nova (Sam Alexander) and a shieldmaiden from History's Vikings for NYCC in October.
Additionally, I'm also doing research on cosplay and how people choose their cosplays and how wearing it makes them feel. Information about my project and the findings and surveys associated with it can be found here

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hey. I'm Daniel. I've been lurking here on and off for a while, looking at all your wonderful creations. I'm truly amazed by what many of you have come up with.

I'm an interaction designer from Sweden currently out in San Francisco, shortly to relocate to Great Britain. I spend a lot of time in the workshop, whenever I have access to a workshop, and have gone through countless different areas of making stuff. Anything from furniture making, to laser cutting, to using lathes, mills, CNC mills, 3d printing, pipe making, pen making, welding, model making for design concepts, Arduino and Processing, PCB making, and the list goes on and on. I can never stay on just one subject, before long I start skipping to the next, which I think has taught me a lot about a wide variety of subjects. Being mainly an on screen designer really makes me itch to make something proper with my hands at the end of the day, even if it just happens to be a great cup of coffee.
