Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello all. I'm not sure that I've ever said hello but I've been lurking for awhile now. I don't build props but I'm interested in them a bit. One day if I ever get the itch I might decide to build something ST related. I'm a BioNerd by trade but decided CE might be more beneficial to my endgame so I'm back doing the grind. Overall I'm just an average nerd with tons of interests and very little focus.

Hey guys!

I am a 24 year old student that lives in Phoenix AZ. I am interested in moonlit walks on the beach and Pina Coladas. I dabble from time to time in prop building when I can not find something I want for sale… and or I can not afford it.
I have made a few props but can only find one pic off hand of my last adventure.

I hope we get along. Cheers.

Hey Everybody!

I'm Andrew and life in the midwest. I've been a collector of memorabilia for quite a while. I've been flipping through the threads for quite a while but until recently stayed away from posting. My collection is very diverse and range from signatures of every corner of celebrity to screen used props and wardrobe. I'm about to start the adventure that is building replicas so now is the time I need to share information!

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello, My name is Ryan. I have a scenic shop in the Orlando area. Originally from the Pittsburgh area I worked the haunted attraction industry for a while building sets, props, and doing FX makeup. I moved to FL in 1999 and I have worked in the scenic industry for the last 13 years. I have done a lot of work on projects for Disney, Universal Studios, and many other high profile projects. I opened my own shop a couple years ago specializing in small to large scale sculpture and mold making. However we do quite a bit more than that. I joined a while back but just recently I want to start to get active on here. I am always open to questions and am willing to help others with fabrication advice. Thanks

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

HI all,

Just wanted to stop in and say Hi ... I've been doing a tonne of research on the board for a while for a number of builds. Figured it's a bout long past time I start to give back.

Thanks for such a great site and fantastic resource!

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hey everyone!

New here, Hans from Malaysia. I was interested in cosplay like 3years ago but didn't get the chance to join any cosplay. Recently my cousin introduced me to Pepakura and he was doing the Ironman MK VII (if not mistaken). So I got interested more to do some suit, for now I'm building the Ultimate Ironman suit. Will keep you guys posted on my 1st project and need your support and advise on building the suit with eva foam. By the way,I am really interested in Pacific Rim suit. Hope someone do the PDO file soon!

Thanks guys!

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Aloha!

I've been browsing the forums since early this year and I've learned how to do pepakura files with foam armor! Big props to Stealth for the youtube tutorials. Just wanted to show my support by joining and also sharing the costumes I've made once I'm done. :) Nice meeting you all, and wonderful work!

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi everyone, just joined but have been doing pep's and papercraft in other formats for a long time. Did not realize my papercrafting could become prop building so when i found that segway I went head first into an obligatory Iron Man Mark III build. I have also been reading as much as I can on foam builds and will be looking to extend my skillset after completing a traditional resin, fiberglass, and bondo build. I have been taking a photo diary of my progress since day 1 and will be posting it.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi from the UK

I came across your site while looking for costume design ideas for a fancy dress party.

Judging by my brief time looking at this forum there are some very talented people about. I hope to be able to learn from your experiences and expertise.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi everyone!

I’ve been researching about foam armors and compiling info to make my own and I always ended up here looking at the tips and photos other posted, so now that I’ve started to make my own armor I decided to finally register.

Greetings!

Hi there guys and galls!

I was born Geert Arts, living the south of the Netherlands, being lucky to still live with that name as well. :D
I had a lot of stubborn methods in the past, calling myself an amature, being obsessive with many costumes at the same time, finishing not much eventually. I spoke a man at a bar in Germany whom I had much fun with, he was as seen on his shirt, a member of TheRPF. I told him the same as seen here, and he motivated me to sign in and I hope to get much more professional as used to be, by seeing other peoples work and using the comments of every member in a good way, so I can learn from it.

I'm also a member of the 501st, known as TK-5256,

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Greetings all, John from Vegas here. Found this like like almost everyone else, researching a WIP. Currently I am working on a M41a Pulse rifle. I have seen the Snowwolf version and I want to have the working LED counter as well. I was hoping that this site could help point me in the right direction. While the Snowwolf is awesome, can't justify $300 just to gut the internals. So, if anyone has any ideas on how, or where to get the electronics, it would be greatly appreciated.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi all, my name is Adam, and apparently I've been lurking and admiring other people's works around here for 2 years now. I knew I hadn't posted a lot, but I thought I had made a couple... turns out I was wrong and I just made my first post here: http://www.therpf.com/f9/katana-finishes-help-191586/ .

Anyway, I thought I'd go ahead and introduce myself. I'm a costumer and prop maker from Georgia, I live near Athens for any other Georgians who may know the area. I've been doing the props thing off and on for three years now after my girlfriend got me to take the final leap into cosplay with her. Now we have a humble little team, she the seamstress and I the prop maker.

So far I've only done a few replicas, most from video games and anime, with a couple commissions here and there. I look forward to building more replicas in the future while continuing to learn from the veterans and hopefully I can help a few people with some of what I've learned along the way.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello, Tony here. I've been browsing the RPF for a while and was amazed by the work done by the people here and decided to share a few of my projects and learn a few things along the way!

Located in western NY, I usually build stuff to give as gifts that serve as a functional display piece, but I think I'll start building props to start a collection of my own. I look forward to sharing some of my work and getting some input!

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi everyone. Phil here. I'm located in the North East of England. I feel like a bit of a fraud being here, as I don't really have any practical skills. I'm currently working on a Dredd 2012 costume, and whilst I haven't made anything myself, the assembling and painting of the various kits & bits that I've bought is what grabbed my interest and led me here. I've modded my Judge gloves with a light-up display screen, and put together my gas grenade using paper clips and a keyring. Oh, and I've assembled and painted my lawgiver and loaded it with reconditioned rounds. It's all fairly basic stuff, but I'm hoping it'll lead on to more!

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Welcome to the 23rd Century! .... Just found this site while googling for Logan's Run DS Pistol pictures for a full detailed 3D model I am working on. Not just the basic skin of one but a full replica model you can take apart piece by piece down to the wiring and glow plug. (Eventually using the program I have to "mill" out parts to make my own movie version. Also in the works is a new generation style I am working on based on an old school paintball gun. Instead of using calcium carbide mine will utilize the simple butane 12 gram cartridges. No way to upload pics yet as I have no scanner and no smartphone either. When finished with the new generation if feasable, I will pick up where Rylo is leaving off making them. (I work for one of the worlds largest aluminum manufacturing plants to get my matrials.) Rylo, if you read this and have time, any pics of a real flamer parts you can spare for my 3D model would be greatly appreciated. I am using the blueprints easily found online but real pics are hard to come by in good detail. Also plan on making some Space 1999 stuff soon as well.
About myself ... well I am 42 (Ballards age from the book where I got my user name as well ... Logan 5 is from the movie) live in St Augustine, Florida and love 3D Modeling, FPS game making, and even working on an MMORPG Logan's Run game utilizing Realmcraft. Avid web surfer and programmer. Motorcycle/ Scooter tech, electronics manufacturer, aluminum fabricator, beach comber, reader and writer, former Q Zar owner operator and would like to open another here as it is the only indoor lazer tag worth playing for the durability of the equipment.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Greetings, peoples of the internets.

As an authentic norseman, I've always found tools of war interesting.
Swords, firearms, armor etc.
Ever since I first fell in love with Firefly, I've desperately been craving a Callahan Fullbore Autolock.
In my search for one, I stumbled upon the Firefly Props forum, which in turn led me here - where people are making so many awesome helmets and boomsticks/blasters that my PayPal account is allready overheating.
