re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hey everyone!

Stumbled upon this website yesterday when I was Google-ing something. Instantly fell in love with the site. So I decided, hey, why not join?

I'm a gamer. Not really an artist or anything. I'm kinda dumb. I feel small and useless watching all you people's crazy design's and replica's. I can't do anything. But I guess I could help around at the forum.

That's all! :angel

I have been a lurker, and made my first posts a few days ago.

I was heavily into modeling during my youth, including scratch-built spaceships. Well, 30 years later, only one such spaceship, built when I was 15, survived.

I mainly collect pre-built replicas now, and am fond of Star Wars and Space:1999 spaceships. My all-time favorite is the MkIX Hawk, and am lucky to have snagged one of the Sixteen 12 Collectibles versions, which is on display in my office at Adobe.

Alex's book of shadows

Hi everone,
I'm Alex and I'm here to promote our prop replica. Alex’s Book of Shadows offers the most faithful and accurate available replica of the Book of Shadows from the TV show “Charmed”. New cover, new pages, new images and, most of all... the 8th Season updates!

Pay attention please: Alex’s Book of Shadows is not the original one used in the tv show, but it is, in the opinion of the web community and of the previous customers, the most faithful replica available, the result of three years of collecting texts, images, photocopies and prints of the original BoS pages. The BoS, as it is a replica of the original, it’s only available in English; we do not realize BoS in other languages.

Please, for more informations and details, visiti our website at.

Hello all
Stumbled across this site while searching for star trek Phasers/tricorders working hero props.
I have been looking through the forums and I am amazed how talented you guys are in building your props.
I am just a beginner but I am enjoying the hunt for the few trek items I am after.

Best regards

Hola, everyone.

My name is Ramses, and I am a prop/set building enthusiast. My english may not be the best, but I'll give it a try. I am the BIGGEST Harry Potter fan there is in this world. Yes, say whatever you want, I am it. I am aspiring to learn how to cast and create my own props as many of the pros here do. I always came here but never dare to sign up... Now I feel like ready. I hope we can all be friends ;)

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

I have been viewing a lot of the various threads for a while, which has encouraged me to try my hand at some prop replication. My interests range from Indiana Jones to X-Men and everything in between. I look forward to purhaps posting some of my efforts in the not too disant future.

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi all!
I've been following the forum for years, and decided that it's time to join.

My name is Brian. I am a huge fan of movies, especially Star Wars, James Bond, Jurassic Park, and Back to the Future. I also love video games, my favorite franchise being The Legend of Zelda.

When it comes to props, I never really had the money to really get into it (still don't), but always loved props. One of my first 'replicas' was a wooden hoverboard from BTTF2 that my dad made for me. It was much smaller than the actual one, but as a child, it was awesome! I still remember playing with that with my brother while wearing our BTTF sunglasses from Pizza Hut.
Later on, I really got into Jurassic Park. I remember going to the JP exhibit in Cleveland and wanting to take home all the props on display: the tazers, the NV goggles, the Barbasol can, among others.
The only props I personally tried to make were some lightsabers; one using chrome piping, and the other out of machined aluminum on a lathe back in high school that I never finished.

Currently, my little collection of prop replicas / collectibles includes:
Star Wars: Force FX ANH Vader Saber with removable blade (with Luke's on its way), Don Post Darth Vader helmet, a MR scaled Anakin ROTS Saber, and a homemade Obi-Wan costime from TPM (unfortunately, I was 12 when we made it, so it no longer fits).

James Bond: Non-firing Walther PPK (it's a cap gun from Japan that strips down like a real gun, fires plug caps loaded in fake bullets, really cool), and an Omega Seamaster-inspired Goldeneye 007 Watch (a promo for the game back in 97).

My want list includes:
The Barbasol cryocan (hoping that Rylo, Nicksdad, or someone new will start a run), a 10,000 volts sign, the baby velociraptor (someone made an amazing replica cast from Stan Winston's original), a Stormtrooper blaster (even if it's the MR scaled one), the Golden Gun (FE's is awesome but too darn pricey), Marty McFly Jr's hat (can be had for cheap, just have to stop being lazy), and I'm sure there are other props I can't think of.

I hope to learn some stuff here, make some friends, and have some fun!

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

I've lurked for a little bit now, not that I have the skills to add to any of the amazing items here, I love looking at the creativity you guys have, not to mention the talent. Hoping to find something related to a studio model of Slave 1 in the future.

I also hang out on Rebelscum and the SS Freaks board.

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello everyone.

Been lurking for quite some time, off and on. This really is a fantastic, positive site.

I'm a bit of a greybeard, but haven't (successfully) built a model of anything since putting together a TIE Fighter kit when I was a boy. Time to do something about that.

Not so much interested in collections of props -- I can't ever see myself buying one -- but I'm very interested in creating cool stuff. In some ways I like the creative process rather than the end result, and LOVE seeing how people create things.

I am in awe at the creativity and skill on display in this forum. It's both inspiring ("I could do that!") and appalling ("I could never do that!"). But, I remind myself... baby steps, baby steps... so I'm currently experimenting with Rub 'n Buff, Bondo* and the dremel on dollar-store guns!

Stuff that appeals: olde-timey sic-fi (e.g. War of the Worlds, Forbidden Planet), a little steampunk/art-deco (e.g. Bioshock), video game props (Half Life 2), some non-Marvel comic-book stuff (Hellboy), etc.

Not so much: Star Trek, Star Wars, etc. I loves me a good ANH or TESB, but it's all been done a million times, ya know? (Would much prefer to build Isaac Clarke's plasma cutter, than a light sabre.) Also, not a fan of militarism and gun culture; Deckard's blaster is about my limit.

Cheers.

* I'm Australian, and not even sure if Bondo is available here. I just use car filler from SuperCheapAuto.

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi All. Recently joined member interested in prop making. Just purchased a home with a large garage that am turning into a man cave. Just finished the insulation and drywall for the themed walls. Next the insulation and drywall for the workshop wall. Have an idea for a dark led lit star wars room, with Han Solo in carbonite that so many have done so well on this site. I look forward to learning from all of you and being able to use my imagination again.
