New Member 1/16 collection

Hi

I am new here but long time lurker.

I specialise in 1/16 modelling from WW2 but I am now turning my attention to Star Wars diorama's. All my buildings are scratch built out of cork and ply and are very big.

I also sculpt a lot of my own figures (the two pictured by the crash landed BF109 and the guy lying down injured shooting the pistol) The Russian T34 is a WIP and has been ongoing for 2 years.

Here are some pictures of my work and I hope you will help me in my pursuit of some Star Wars stuff in the near future:-

WOW...very realistic work...stunning detail. The Star Wars pieces will be amazing

Top work, love the Tiger diorama. Incredible skills. Welcome to the forum BTW

Thank you all for your interest and kind comments.

I am suffering with the mojo at the moment, so need a change to get back in to it. I am looking forward to trying out some Star Wars stuff, just need to do some planning.

I guess the tanks are or were RC. Are they Tamiya ( expensive)? Just found a Tiger 1 RC from a company called Heng Long. Never heard of them but it has engine sounds, gun firing sounds and a smoke generator too! Also fires BB and only costs £65...Jeez what a bargain. Looks accurate too.

We have a theatre that plays movies after they have had their major run in the theatres at a much lower price. Only problem is no 3D movies, so have to pay full price if I want to watch one of those (e.g. The Avengers). It is a really sweet deal if you don't mind waiting a bit to see the movie.

Dave Vader...you are a horrible man..I am now obsessing about a 1/16th Heng Long Tiger for £60....its just one weak willed click away from my doorstep.

DAMN YOU:angry

Ha ha sorry!

The Tiger dio is a heavily converted Heng Long!! I made my own tools, clasps, MG holder, zimmerit and purchased metal tracks!! It really was a labour of love and took a long time!

Here are a few pics to give you some idea:-

DSC_0196.JPG

Have been researching like crazy and bought a ton of aftermarket stuff inc metal tracks...

Just what I needed...another project

But Jeez, the Heng Long is stupid value

Thanks for the introduction to 1/16th tanks

Lovely detail work on the Tiger...I will be doing a winter Early Tiger 1. I don't think I will be doing a diorama. Probably just create a marble effect black base and display it as a piece of art.

I think that modelling is overlooked as an art form. Just looking through this sites threads, you can see wonderful pieces of art from modellers with amazing talent and skills.

Its an amazing hobby...just wish I had more time. I hope your works of art are proudly displayed at your home.

They are wonderful. :thumbsup Top Notch

Dave Vader, your builds are amazing! Weathering is superb. No doubt in my mind that whatever subject you choose to model in the Star Wars universe, it will rock:) I've been wanting one of those Heng Long Tigers since they hit the market.

If it wouldn't be considered hijacking your thread, I'd like to post one of my 1:16 builds: the Trumpeter T-34/85.

Can't wait to see more from you:)
