Hasbro's New 2011 Force FX Lightsabers with Removable Blades!
Apologies if there's already a topic about this... I did a search on "force fx lightsaber" and also on "force fx saber" and couldn't find anything within the last several months....
I just got a new catalog from ThinkGeek.Com and saw the newest wave of Hasbro's Force FX Lightsabers with Removable Blades, and was quite surprised by what I saw...
Kit Fisto? KIT FISTO?!? :eek
I have been in LOVE with that saber hilt design ever since the first time I saw it, in a photo of Samuel L. Jackson as Mace Windu from
The Phantom Menace! :love
Funny story, true story... I own exactly 3 lightsaber props... the very first Force FX Lightsaber ever offered by Master Replicas (Anakin's saber from
Episode II), a genuine Heiland flash gun that was converted into a Vader-ish lightsaber, and a fan-made machined aluminum replica of Kit Fisto's saber hilt that I picked up on eBay years ago & have actually worn with my Jedi costume!
Since that hilt was made, lots more info has become available about its design and all the details present in it. My fan-made hilt is inaccurate in some ways, I know that.
Now check out Hasbro's with the blade removed:
So, more accurate than the one I own (after the stickers/labels are removed, natch!

) Maybe not 100% accurate to the original hero prop created for
Episode I (there may be some detail missing on the emitter rings, based on a couple images I've seen) but certainly much more accurate than the one I already own. It's got a removable, light-up LED blade and sound FX, and it's only $100 (on ThinkGeek.Com, plus their catalogs often have a coupon code for $10 off a purchase of $50 or more!) SOLD!

Obviously, some models are better than others. The "flash gun" sabers (Luke's, Vader's, Anakin's) and most of the Prequel Trilogy sabers lend themselves better to accurate replicas here than the Original Trilogy Obi-Wan and Luke
ROTJ sabers do.
Anyone else think these are a good deal?
Also, who do we have to kill... err, I mean, CONTACT at Hasbro to convince them to re-issue the Force FX Obi-Wan (
The Phantom Menace) Lightsaber with a removable blade? There's high demand for that saber model, I've been wanting a great replica of it since 1999, but have never been able to afford one, and yet, Hasbro has canceled the Force FX version of it! This has led to it being completely sold out everywhere, except from the scalpers that have a few on-hand, naturally. :angry:thumbsdown
And, speaking of removing the stickers... has anyone here got any recommendations for the easiest way to get all of those goofy things off of the Force FX Lightsaber without any damage/discoloration/leftover residue? :confused
