The MPP has a right angle milled out of the top corner along its length. I think this was so the surface of the bubble strip ended up flish with the rails. The Graflex here appears to have a flat trapezoidal slant sanded off.

Vader MPP bubble mounting
Where's that d-ring from? If you don't mind me asking?I had my scrap aluminum out because I had been working on my Holiday Special shroud. Thought I’d mock up a clip just for fun. It’s not going to get riveted on, but I might do some false rivets using some spare ones I have from Roy. I might do some photo comparison analysis with it.

I don’t know if that would work, since all the standings were randomly orientated. If each stamp while being made was stamped in the same exact location I think your on to something
This all is if I read your post correctly
Ah yes, I recall someone telling me that before but I must have forgotten. Still, what got me onto that way of thinking is even where it is mounted it is not the same spot of the toe pic, and I could not replicate it using all the possible positions with the clamp and tube.
However, I always thought this was the same saber as the toe pic.

On my RR Replica bottom, even though it is not the patent version of the Folmer, I placed the clip between the 'E' and the 'H' as it seems to be stamped in a similar spot as to this new saber. Now I inserted the 3 cell tube, but did not turn it to lock it in and this is what it looks like.

So maybe it is the bottom part from this pic. The grips angles do look different to the toe pic ones, though that always could be photography angles. Can someone cross examine this idea, as I think I am going nutsXD
If the 3 cell bottoms were all stamped exactly in the same orientation then you would have solved the case
I still pray someone makes a Folmer pat# bottom!! Wish wish wish
This would give us a accurate ranch/dagobah saber and now this one as well

I think it’s very likely that the upper view prop reference photo features the same prop as seen in the toe pic. Maybe even shot during the same session. Publicity photos of the actors using the props, then some shots of the props themselves, for reference.
Makes me wonder about the Solo hero DL-44, too. Do the black-and-white prop reference photos match the publicity photos of Ford holding it, in terms of details and condition?
