New Death Eater mask prototype

Hello all,

Just thought I'd post some pics of a quick project I've just put together. Its not a finished product, more of a prototype really, the sculpt was quick to keep costs down, and it's sized for a lady's face not a man's, but I'm thinking about refining the ideas explored in this piece and making a couple of other "Man sized" mask designs, but making them a bit cleaner, not so distressed as this piece.

This is a felxi resin cast, painted and weathered with iron fillers and gold leaf. The design is an amalgamation of ideas from the on-screen masks, using the same elements but combining them in a different way.

There you have it, let me know what you guys think

Cheers

Nice work! I have been looking for more custom made Death Eater masks for a while now, it's so cool to see others ideas!

Hey, thanks guys.

FB - Iron filler is just a VERY fine powdered Iron, it's great stuff! The gold leaf is applied using a leafing size into the "etched" lines scupted into the clay. I had to use a fine mechanical pencil tip to push the leaf into the lines.

Cheers

Pete

Sorry to resurrect such an old thread, but I am working on some resin pieces that I want to have a metallic finish, and was going to do some cold casting, was wondering if you mixed the iron powder into the resin or if this is strictly painted on. If it was painted, did you mix it with acrylic or what? Amazing looking.
