NEW BSG Raider..

Gone but not forgotten.
Well, since it look's like the NEW Raider is
CLOSE to comming out I decided to show off my
" new " version of the Cylon Raider from BSG .

This is in 1/24th scale as well so it will look
right at home with the latest Viper efforts.. ;)

Some early shots of the fuselage.

A shot of the two " bat " wings... :)

Next up is a detail shot of the sensor array mounted into the
" elbow " of each wing.

Here's the underwing "Engine Cowling" that I've been
working on. Thing's a PAIN, full of nasty curves
hard to get " right" . :confused

It's hollowed out and will be cast so you can see
" through " it and the Engine encased inside it.

Also, you can see the Missle Door Covers { in white }.
They will be made removable and show the " pod " of
missles located inside the wing so you can have an option
to display doors OPEN or CLOSED.

{ Missles INCLUDED of course... ;) }

And lastly some close-ups of a few detail
pieces.

I'm further along then when these were snapped, but I felt like
a preview might be in order... :)

I'll be posting more detailed goodies soon as there are
TONS of details to add to this puppy . B)

And MANY THANKS Wacky Chimp ... :thumbsup

I'm dying to get a Mk VII Viper.

Good looking progress on that raider Wolvster1.

YES... The main body looks like the ******* son of The Predator, an Alien and Robocop. Still. It's really amazing.

Cheers

Welp, update time again..

Sorry it's been kinda' SPARSE working on this thing
as I've had other " things " get in the way lately.. :$

As you can see there's a LONG ongoing process of adding
all the " greeblies " to the fuselage and most notably WINGS .
Lot's and LOT'S of panel lines yet to be added as well as
odd's n' end's.. ;)

Only thing I have to really " build " at this point are the missles
for the missle bays. I'll probably leave those for last as I'm more interested
in getting the MAJOR body parts DONE and into rubber then I am a
bunch of little missles... :D

Wow, that looks absolutely incredible. I can't wait to see the finished product, it should be really impressive. Any idea on how you're going to display that?

For those of you not familiar with Kip's work, he is a very taleted scuplter. Back when I worked on Babylon 5 he had made a kit of the Shadow ships. His work was so good it looked like the CG model. All the way down to the facets and other raised details. His castings are well done his kits are very nice when assembled.

I think this kit, if you decide to make a run of these, will go great with our mk 2 Viper. And the mk 7;)

Kip, I hope you decide to do a kit. I think these people will love it.

I'm still diging through things for more detail info for you.

Take care and I'll talk to you soon.
