New Blade Runner Toys?

The announcment of possible new Blade Runner projects is all pretty fresh to me so im hopeing to get some info.

Does this mean that the rights to the original no longer belong to the BR Partnership? The reluctance of the Partnership to release merchandise has long been a frustration to me. Although this lack of BR toys has resulted in some amazing creations from fans, the thought of licenced ones from the original and any possible future movies is very exciting. Any thoughts?

Let's see, the main characters of BR are either, An assassin, a psychotic robot, a greedy business man, a sexy robot, or a racist cop.

Yeah, let's make toys for the kids.

Face it, some movies shouldn't have toy tie-ins.

UNLESS.... the "toys" are high-end collector's items like HotToys makes. Their "toys" are definitely not for kids... pricewise or otherwise.
I'd GLADLY pay for a HotToys Deckard and Batty.

Yeah right, i meant kiddies toys, like thats what i was aiming for, loosen up your collars a little and we might get somewhere.

A series of vehicles, there are many, would be great. Anybody have anything on the rights issue?

Lets face it, some people should stick to the topic.

Why not make toys from Blade Runner???They made/still Making toys for the nu Galactica..and that show WAS NOT FOR KIDS!

Acually, a lunch box and bubble gum cards would really go well with the 1:1 spinner lights, Gaff helmet, complete Deckard costume and semi complete Patrolmans costume ive put together.

For sure, even in non-licensed arena a good spinner has rarely made an appearance.

It's a tough subject. Lots of parts and not a lot of them fell off of something else.

:lol
If new people do hold the merchandise rights, we could see anything out there, bottom line is that there is a huge market that has never been tapped. Some great high end stuff would be great prop porn and remember new stories will give the producers lots of opportunity to address merchandise.

I think youd be surprised mic, especially in Japan, where most of the non official stuff comes from,
big drivers of the Mad Max market as well.

I think Japan is probably already taken care of, with the Tomenosuke and the Medicom Spinner. Sure, the interior of it sucks and it looks very plastic, but it's official and not bad at all.

Ok back to action figures, Neca could do a 7" line for sure. Even Mattel is pretty decent right now with WWE and DCU.

Or for you 3 3/4 fans Hasbro has been doing very well with GI Joe and Star Wars Vintage style figures.

Why not.

They are superb pieces jakob2121 but if you add the tiny spinner from the dvd box set to the medicom, thats the sum total of all licenced products, just two and they are of the same thing. The Japanese blaster is very expensive and only available in Japan i beleive but i think between them, RAC props, Sidkits, Rick Ross, DaveG and all the ebay knockoffs, the blasters well and truly covered.

Some high end figures of different characters would be cool, the patrolman, Bryant, Leon etc. Ive got a custom 1/16 Gaff and he needs some company.

Awesome, didnt think of that, just to have even a small version of that white robe/coat would be cool let alone eyes that can be pushed back:love
