New Batarang-type melee weapon?

Last night I spent a good amount of time gluing magnets to my existing batarangs and painting them as well. I want to put as many as I can on the magnetic racks I have in my Batcave so that it starts looking cool!

I had one batarang that had a spring-loaded hinge on it so that it flipped open. However, I glue all my hinges on instead of screw them in and it came undone. Good thing because I actually hate the spring ones as they always bounce right out of the hand when they open!

But I was trying to think of what to do with two batarang halves ... and came up with a cool new Bat-weapon inspired by this scene in Batman Begins:

I have no idea what to call it, and it's very rudimentary and just glued on (that's what I do) ... but it is badass I think!

Check it out!

Looks cool. I think that screen grab has Bats holding two rangs though. I like the piece you created though. Very original.

Yeah, I have to agree on that one. Especially on the invention of the bat-push knife. I think that's what it should be called. It's pretty much a double bladed push knife.

He is holding two rangs, but that scene always bothered me. How did he get two of them positioned in his hand that way so fast, and wouldn't the back end of the rang poke into his palm if he actually punched someone that way?

In that respect, this new melee weapon looks much better. Like a cross between brass knuckles and Wolverine's claws.

THANK YOU! That is exactly what I thought about it.

1) How in the world can you position two of those little things in your hand that way that fast? Even for Batman, that's a stretch.
2) I TRIED IT, and no matter what you do you either can't hold them straight or they poke the crap out of your hand.

The version from the movie scene just isn't feasible, but this definitely is and works! It's comfortable and the flat surface against your hand doesn't hurt when pressure is applied!

Wow. That actually looks natural and egronomic. If the prop designers for the DKR saw this, they would totally rip you off and you would receive zero screen credit. :lol

But catching someone falling, mid-air, with a grapple gun is feasible? :p

And disappearing utterly without anyone hearing you move? Throwing a 2mm thick piece of metal and have it pin into another metal wall?

Haha, I kid of course. I just think there's a lot to look at when you actually look at it, best to keep the disbelief!

Awesome prop though. Is the bronze really dark or is it my monitor?

Ha ha no crap. I often wondered how in the world you would be able to shoot that thing around someone's ankle while they are falling and flailing around ... Instead, I'd just aim mid-chest and hope it sticks!

And I have TRIED to move around quietly in my Batsuit ... doesn't work. Does work in the Spidey suit but that's different! He is just the master!

Yes, I would say that the bronze is pretty dark. It's rustoleum metallic bronze paint.

I like the creativity and think these would be a cool addition to Batman's arsenal. I am a huge Batman fan.
