New Airsoft PR On Evike

I did recieve my PR today, and I have to say, it's pretty freaking awesome. My only complaint would be that the shotgun shell chamber won't close all the way. There's about a 1/4 of an inch of the shell showing. ><

Mine came the same way. But it is not too hard to adjust it. If you remove the two screws up front and take off the shotgun pump handle, you can then pry the front open enough to remove the (spring loaded) front part. Then slide the pump tube out the front while prying the front open.

Then, I used a heat gun to soften the glue on the tube-to-handle part, and a hammer to lightly tap it further down the tube, until it was in the right place. It is much better now. (Of course, it still looks like a shotgun shell instead of a grenade, so there is more to be done...)

Ok, I was hoping it was an easy fix!!! Thanks for the info! :D I'll have to do it over the weekend!

This isn't the G&P kit guys.....

It might as well be, I don't see a single thing about this that isn't EXACTLY like my G&P kit, with the exception this has the orange plug and a 'Made in China' printed on the front part of the shroud.

It is more than likely a chinese knock off of the G&P kit. It is definately based off the kit if not the actual G&P kit bought in surplus. Why do you say it isn't? Have you noticed something to the contrary?

I just got my pulse rifle and overall Im pleased. I have the same problem as a couple of other people mentioned about the grenade launcher cover not closing all the way and leaving some of the shell exposed.

My two biggest gripes are the lack of a manual and that it does come with a battery and charger even though the site says it doesn't so I was like $30 buying accessories I didn't need. The rest of the rifle looks good and I don't really have that "creaky" noise or feel some were mentioning.

Now I have never played with an airsoft before so it took me some time to figure out where the batteries went, how to turn on the counter, where the safety was how to load and release the mag etc.

I also have to say that I am surprised with how powerfull this thing is. I loaded it up, turned it to single fire and shot at a soda can I put on top of the dryer. I missed the can and the dryer now has a lovely dent in the front control casing that I'm hoping the wife doesn't notice. :behave

From there I took it outside for further testing. I put the soda can on the back deck railing and hit it on single fire. The pellet went in one side and out the other. So please everyone, treat this as you would any firearm or actual pellet rifle. Don't aim it at pets or anything that might get hurt and wear goggles etc. I then tried it on full auto and nearly cut the can in half with a quick pull of the trigger.

The ammo counter does count down from 95 and starts over once you hit 0. I already saw one person online complaining that their ammo counter didn't light up when they put the 9v battery in. There is an small easy to miss switch you have to turn on to get the counter to light up that's in the battery well.

This is mainly going to be a wallhanger for me but I think it might be fun to go plinking in the woods behind the house where it will be totally safe.

All in all I am happy with the piece and the price. Much more accurate than the crappy resin pulse rifle i have had for years. Once I get the orange tips off and adjust the shotgun shell cover I think it will more than fit my needs.

Any suggestions on removing the "MADE IN CHINA" marking from the side without mucking up the surrounding paint?

With airsoft- Go big or you won't have fun. I was on an airsoft team for 3 years in Chattanooga- the better your gun, gear, and amo is- the better your experiance will be!!!

Flagg: I have had pretty good past success removing those painted "made in x" labels using a damp paper towel that has a bit of nail polish remover on it. Literally I dampen a paper towel with water and then cover the opening of the nail polish remover bottle and give it a quick flip. So long as the lettering doesn't have a coat of varnish protecting it you should be able to dab at it with the nail polish remover section of towel and then wipe away with the damp area, sort of a "last on - first off" type deal. Just be careful not to get carried away or the base paint may begin to soften and smear.

I'm eagerly waiting for mine to ship and per the advice (discoveries) of members in the thread I decided to risk that the PR would ship with batter+charger so I didn't order anything extra.

Thanks for the advice on the nail polish remover. I will give it a go and see what happens. I tried using a hair pryer to pop the orange plugs off and that didn't work, or I didnt wait long enough. I'm going to send them an email about the shotgun port cover not lining up right to see what they have to say.

I think the statement on the site means it dosen't come with the 9v battery. They don't make it clear though.

Flagg, did you not read my PSA above?:lol

Here is a tip for you newbies to airsoft. Do not reuse the BB's after they are fired. Putting used BB's in again can scratch the barrel, jam, and scratch or tear the HopUp. Always use new BB's when shooting. If you don't have an airsoft outlet near you and don't want to order them, you can usually find them at Walmart, Mijer, or large sporting goods stores. STAY AWAY from the cheap clear green BB's. They are cheap and can actually break apart inside the gun.

Flagg, thanks for the tip on the little counter switch - have any more instruction advice for someone who has one on the way? How do you "charge" it?

It comes with a stick battery and a charger. The charger is one where you just straight plug it into the wall and plug the battery into that.

What it doesn't tell you is how to put this battery in the gun. You have to pull out and twist the end cap of the grenade launcher which exposes the stick battery compartment. Put the battery in first and then connect the wires. The 9V is easy enough to figure out, it's in the ammo compartment. The button the extend the stock is right on the back end of the gun but it's a little hard to see.

The other thing that messed me up a bit is that to eject the clip there's a push lever under the Auto/Single selector switch that you push up to drop out the magazine.

Also, if you are like me and have never used one of these airsoft guns before trying to load the ammo took some time since it doesnt tell you how anywhere. The clip you fill with BBs has a pop up top that you need to flip open to drop in the BBs. Then you crank the wheel on the bottom of the clip to feed them up into the magazine.

Big thanks to felgacarb! I was having some issues and he was kind enough to explain further.

Still have to get the caps off but this is a whole lot better

Anyone tried to replace the shell with a metal grenade yet?

Looking good!

I haven't yet gone for the grenade mod... I did put some paint on it though.

What I'd really like is to get the correct sling for it. (Anyone know if Noble still offers them?)

Well depending on who you order from and what type of shipping you pay for you could have quite a bit of variability.

I ordered mine from Evike on 3/15 but its currently on pre-order with an estimated arrival of 04/2012 (hopefully it's the beginning of the month and not the end). Considering the cheapest shipping (UPS ground) was $17 that's what I opted for, if memory serves correct the next tier in shipping was like $40. I did have something else ship via UPS ground on 3/22 with an estimated arrival of 3/28 but then again I'm in Pennsylvania. If your on the west coast you ETA should be considerably faster.
