New 52 Inspired Aquaman Cosplay

So I absolutely LOVE the new 52's Aquaman so I decided to tackle my own version of him for a really small local event, Annapolis Comic-con.

It's my first cosplay I have ever done but it turned out really well and it's an extremely low cost (but very good looking cosplay).

I'll post some pictures up soon and possibly a material list for everyone!
Some pictures of me in the costume will be posted on the thread will be up after the event (October 27th)

Cheers dudes!:)

Here's the top.
Modified women's turtle neck sweater.
Length and collar modified.
Some stiffiner was added to the collar to help it stand:

Here's the texture of the top:

The belt was made from fabric, stiffiner, craft foam and spray paint.
There are 3 small hooks on the inside for closing.
Belt open:

Belt Closed (A lines up better while on):

I also put some hidden pockets on the inside of the belt so that I can hold my drivers license, money and credit cards. You can also see the hooks i used:

Guess what these are (;

Those are my feet!
Basically (this actually words really well!)
Get a pair of tall socks and dye them the same color as everything else (I used the same color dye for the tights, socks and gloves)
Take a pair of flat shoes. (Ed Hardys, Vans) and pull the sock over them.
Buy two sheets of ducktape and trace the bottom of the show then put them on the bottom of the sock.
When wearing the tights, put the tights over the socks! It looks pretty damn good!

However if you're skilled at sewing (i found this out after I had finished) I saw someone (if this is you let me know so i can give you credit) Who take apart gel dirt dogs (flat running shoe) and sews the bottom into the tights. It looks better and seems a little more substantial. I didn't really know about that until now.

For the pants I bought girls tights that fit me and died them the same color as everything else hahaha.
I also bought matching paint and cut the fins out of craft foam and painted them to match.
I ended up having to attach them with hot glue because the fabric glue didn't hold to well.
Overall it looks decent though.

This view looks so funny

The Trident is NOT true to the comics, but it definitely gets the job done.
I bought a devils pitchfork (one of the nicer ones), cut the tops and attached it to PCP piping according to my length (can also use dowel rods) and then spray painted gold. It looks pretty fantastic. I may do some antiquing on it soon!

Haha this looks great. I hope those fins stay on. If not, you may need to make some sort of strap that wraps around your leg under the tights. Good luck, can't wait to see it finished!

Thanks so much man! Means a lot since this is my first costume i've made!
I was hoping to get some pics of it today but balancing school/work and this is a little hard. Definitely will have pictures up by this weekend though!

If you ever want to build your own I can post a material list. It's a really easy and cheap build.

Keep going! This is awesome! I'm about to start on a comic Green Lantern soon. So good to see some comic costumes.

Thanks man! :)
When you start the thread link me to it and I'll definitely check it out!
Green lantern is a BAMF and I'm glad you're doing the comic version because the movie version was a piece of crap.
