New 52 Deathstroke costume(FINISHED/PEREZ SIGNED MASK)

So I new I wanted to make a deathstroke mask, but wasn't sure what version to go with. I have seen a lot of arkham origins, arrow, and injustice ones, but no new 52. That decided for me. I am still pretty new at sculpting, this is only the second mask I have ever done. I am really happy how it came out though. I know this version doesnt have much to it, but I still like it. I will fabricate the rest of the helmet because I have a large head, so sculpting it wont fit me. Any way, going to mold tonight. Hope you all like it as much as I do. Thanks for looking. I add pics of my references as well.

Re: New 52 Deathstroke mask sculpt

So its been a while since I updated this. I got the mold done and had to wait for some more resin to come in. Got the resin, and finished the pull. I am super happy with how this came out. I need to get a charge on my dremel then I can clean this up and slap some paint on it. Hope you all like it as much as I do. This is going to become a full suit build so I changed the title of the thread. Thanks for looking.

Re: New 52 Deathstroke costume build

Got the mask painted. The blue came out pretty bright, but Im still happy with it. Hope you all like it too. I will be taking a small break from this build due to being commissioned for a wonder woman 600 and deadpool. More to come and thanks for looking.

Re: New 52 Deathstroke costume build

So I had a 2 week break from this build due to wondercon, and taking my first costume commissions. Wondercon was a blast and the customers were super happy so Im back. I started making the rest of the helmet to go with the mask. I had to duct tape a foam head up so I can wrap it in plaster strips. I got a big melon, so had to adjust. I also got a nice 4 foot prop sword off of amazon. It has the right shape to match the comics, but needs some modifying. I just realized that I haven't posted a picture of the harness yet, so that will be put up later. Anyway, thanks for looking and more to come. Any suggestions are always welcomed.

Re: New 52 Deathstroke costume build

can't wait to see the final result.... good build.
Thanks, Im really excited about it. Time for an update on this bad boy. I have had my harness started, but hadnt posted a pic yet. Here it is so far. Need to add back armor, and some grenades. I got the plaster helmet made, and coated it with resin. After I sanded it down some, I gave it a test fit with the mask. A little tight at the ears, but I found feels fine if I wear a head sock. Got a pretty thin one I can do. Anyway, thanks for looking and more to come.

Re: New 52 Deathstroke costume build

Good stuff so far. I like seeing other people doing New 52 costumes as well, especially Deathstrokes redesign, I was thinking of doing one myself. Here's a good chainmaille tutorial if you're thinking about going in this direction with the body armor.
Thanks for the link. I did order some chain maille stuff so i can go authentic. I looked at the printed stuff, but didnt really like it.

Re: New 52 Deathstroke costume build

So no new pics yet. The helmet is being a huge pain in the ass as far as attaching the mask. I know its because i have a big dome though. More to come

Re: New 52 Deathstroke costume build

So its been a while since I have updated, and man do I have an update. Finally got the helmet to work for my big ass head, so I am super happy about that. I attached a short video of how I can raise the face plate up. My grenades have plastidip on the foam parts, and got the holders sprayed as well. After a whole lot of cutting and sanding, I finally got the sword set up. Had to do some patch work with some plumbers putty, but I am happy with it. It will be ready for a fresh paint job tomorrow. Not going to really paint the main suit till all the pieces are done, but probably going to paint the sword up soon. The back-plates are coming together really nicely. I started on the block attachments that you see on the statue I add a pic of. Also realized I never added a pic of my knife, gloves, and pistol. Also working on some scale maille for the chest. It is my first time doing it and is taking me hours. I think the rings might be a little big for the scales, but I'm not going to really worry about it. Anyway that's all for now, on to the pics. Thanks for looking, and more to come soon.

Re: New 52 Deathstroke costume build

Shin guards and boots are done. Got the gauntlets from wondercon this year and closed in the wrist area with a piece of foam. Started painting last night. Thanks for looking and let me know what you think.

Re: New 52 Deathstroke costume build

So a quick update. Got the lower armor all painted and sealed. Went with a dark blue, almost black to match the pants and shirt I found. Added the blue lines on the shin and knee guards to give it a little pop, also to match the kotobukyia statue. Got the helmet painted up and I am super happy with it. The gaunts need another coat of paint and I think they will be good to go. The harness is taking a lot of paint. After I got the base coat of cloth/acrylic I focused souly on the cloth parts. After I was happy with that, I moved on to the armor. I got in a habbit of doing a black base coat for armor, and now Im kicking myself for it. Its taking so much freaking paint!!! I still need to paint up the sword and blade of the knife. The next pic will be a test fit. If I get the scales done, then with scales, if not oh well. Later I will make up the belt buckle that I neglected. Any way thanks for looking and here are the pics.

Re: New 52 Deathstroke costume build

I'd go with scalemail if you're planning on going that into detail with it. They scale texture matches closer to the torso :D

Been working on scale mail actually. Leaving it as a bit of a surprise for the look.
Just sprayed a clear coat on the harness, and helmet. Gauntlets got there final coat. Just need a little latex paint on the gloves and some work on the sword. Just glad I'm done with that dawn harness!!

Re: New 52 Deathstroke costume build

Well I finished the sword today, and did a test fit. Ran into an issue with the back plate. The staples from my staple gun didnt hold and popped out. Any suggestions other then more staples and an ass load of glue? The gloves came out to dark, but not worried about it. My wife got some fun pics in and Im really happy with it. Got to finish the scales for the chest, and make the belt buckle. But this is the last of pics until the Vegas con on the 20th. Took a picture in front of the statue for comparison. Hope you like the pictures as much as I do.

ell I debuted the suit at the Amazing Las Vegas Con, and people loved it! Im really happy with how it came out (aside from not getting to repaint the gloves). I got to meet George Perez, and he actually thanked me for making the suit. He said he loved it! To hear that from the creator of the character, words cant describe. I got a fresh pull of the mask made up and painted. He was more then happy to sign it for me. As far as props and collectibles go, this is now my most cherished. I dont think he knows how good he made me feel, or the impact he had on me that day. It drives me to keep making costumes and props. Also, he is a really nice guy all around. Thanks for looking everybody.
