Howdy folks!

After a few years of looking at the original thread by Quest, and having the parts I was able to acquire sit in my closet for the same amount of time, I figured it was time to start this build for myself. I didn't want to source large sheets of styrene online, so I found a sign maker locally that would sell me large sheets of Sintra for fairly cheap. So this will be a (hopefully detailed) log of my progress.

First of course, I wanted to sort out the general shape of the Nerf guns. Now I wasn't able to source a Raider's stock, so I get to figure out the stock later, but I got the Longshot front gun and the Recon body sorted:

Next it was on to transferring Quest's plans to my sheet of Sintra. I did this using the old standard of carbon paper and a stylus:

That's where I'm at right now, but I should be making some more progress soon. Once I get the plans transferred completely, the plan is to hack the sheet into more manageable pieces so I can fit them onto my work table, then cut the individual parts out with my Dremel. I decided to use my Dremel because after a couple test cuts using a utility knife and the "score and snap" method, I realized it would take for frickin' ever to get the bits cuts and it would cause me much hand fatigue. I'm pretty much working with the space and tools I have, and much as I'd love to have one, it wouldn't work to have a scroll saw or anything in my apartment.

Anyway, there we go. Expect another update soon, and as always, constructive criticism is appreciated!
